Out of 100+ creations, these 8 have been spindly (in some cases, remotely spindly). I'm tired of the comments that ask me to do something different than "spindly bipeds" or that say the creations aren't good because they are spindly. The spindliness is an intentional part of the design aesthetic. The creations wouldn't look right if they weren't spindly. Telling me to make these creations not spindly is like telling me to make this:

into a dolphin. It just isn't gonna happen. So really, please stop telling me to stop making spindly things. I'm going to make them spindly when I feel that the spindliness is an appropriate part of the design. If it bugs you that much, trust me, I've got plenty of other MOCs that aren't spindly.

Just felt like I needed to address that.

Spindliness looks like (or can arguably be) laziness. Laziness isn't good. Neither is reusing a concept over and over. Just something to think about.

And I'm guessing that this entry was directed mostly at me.

Spindliness doesn't look lazy, it looks artistic and abstract. It looks odd, and I appreciate whoever is able to pull it off. I can't do it to save my life. :P

It really depends on what the Moc is based off of. I probably would have commented about how spindly the first one, the fifth one, and the sixth one are (mainly because they are basic humanoids). The others, however, are more abstract so they get away with the skinniness of certain limbs. Just my two cents. =P

Yes, but spindliness is, as I see it, Primus's main style.

Just like CzaR with making big MOCs, or ToM with awesome flowy design, or Cag's alien/mechanical/whatever-it-is MOC's.

It's essentially his MOCing signature. And I believe he pulls off spindliness quite well. Normally, spindliness is produced by a new MOCer who is trying to make a "custom" MOC. I did the same thing a while ago (never posted it); and in that case it looks terrible.

But this makes it look fantastic, surreal, and it almost reminds me of steampunk structure.

Sure he uses it over and over. But DV uses fusion a lot, and while that is definitely not lazy, neither is this.

You want lazy? check out MY MOCs. Of course, all the topics are dead, but you can still find them with a little digging.

I know I kinda came out of the blue, but I used to read Primus's blog before his premiership ended. And I felt it necessary to defend him.

Peace, but not literally,

why do people think spindliness is bad anyway?

do people just wear clothes so much they've forgotten how spindly they are?

well, mostly how spindly they are(not posting that picture. not, not, not)

See, that's where you and I differ. I view it aesthetically. You view it (work) ethically. The spindliness has nothing to do with how much work I put into a MOC (with Stilleto, for example, I had to put more work into it because it was spindly than not). And as I said, only those eight fall under spindly. I've got over 100 creations. Heck, I make a ton of bipedal things, and you rarely hear someone call me out on that.

And no, it's not directed mostly at you. I kinda addressed this elsewhere, I just felt that I should address it here, too. That, and if I wanted to direct it at you, the title would've been "Ballom Needs to Stop Telling Me Spindliness Is A Bad Thing Cause It's Not Going To Do Anything Except Irritate Me." Or something along those lines.
