Those Japanese...

So Arpy brought these to my attention.

They're Japanese.

Aren't they different and awesome?!?!

Now, the question is, what do they think of our building style? Also, it seems as if 1) they are more accepting on Bionicle over there and/or 2) they have their own Roa-builder who also cranks MOCs out without stop.

Either way, let me draw your attention to a few I particularly like: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and this (from another builder on another page).

Like?

Eh, they're alright. The second one you posted is my favorite, but I think a lot of those models looked kind of... "messy".

I dunno. It's probably just a style thing.

Looks like all these ones come from one person.

There aren't as many good ones as last year, but I like that motorbike.

I get the impression that they like to base their MOCs of awesome mecha inspiration, and when building that focus more on the overall form of the MOC, rather than the cleanliness of each component.

Their MOCs also have more radical and stylized proportions, which work sometimes, and don't in others.

They're also a lot more reckless in terms of part-usage, especially Kanohi.

The style is truly different.

Sometimes this is a good thing, and sometimes it isn't, IMO. I do like that red one piloted by the girl figure thing.

I love this because it's funny, it has a VERY creative use of many parts, and it looks cool.

These guys are rad too. The second one from the left and the one on the far right are my faves.

I love the anime inspirations you can plainly see in a lot of them. I wonder if there's a consistent inspiration you can find in North American MOCs, or from other places?
