A Short Treatise On Long Games. And Happy New Year Too. :d

First off. Happy New Year. :D

Secondly, as RPers, we don't write stories and create characters. No. We build worlds. But if your world is already completely built, what more can we add to it? Instead of giving us a skyscraper from the start, instead provide us with a foundation and let us be the architects. For that is what we truly are, architects of the pen.

A true writer crafts his own universe and then draws you into it. As Roleplayers, we work together, like a construction team, to improve and finalize such a world inside the given universe by the General Moderator. A writer, on the other hand, gives you the finished product like a present and lets you unwrap it and enjoy.

Does that kinda make sense?

No. What does that even have to do with this? I meant games that are written long (AP, The Bridge, etc..) not games that last a long time :P

It was just that comment of "let the players do the work" that seemed to fit with earlier statements

Ohhh. I see. Well, yes I've said that the players need to do the work, but the GM is a player as well and needs to be just as active, if not more so, than the players. My problem is just staying active all the time.
