Off To Tru

Every year at this time, LEGO employees travel to Toys R Us stores all over NY, NJ, CT and MA, helping out store personnel and customers seeking LEGO sets. This year, staff writer Daniel Lipkowitz and I get the fun of working at the Toys R Us Times Square store in Manhattan. We expect it to be hectic, as we'll be there the 18th and 19th!

This has been a fantastic year for LEGO sales, so I don't know how much will still be on the shelves --people are buying sets as fast as our manufacturing folks can make them! We'll see, though, if any place has the newest stuff, it will probably be the Times Square store.

So I will be away from my computer Sunday through Tuesday - if you send PMs during that time, just be patient, I will get to them when I am back.

A great way to promote BIONICLE sets as a whole and keep the franchise alive!

Sure wish the same thing happened to the books, though.

Anyway, have a lot of fun when you're there, Mr. Farshtey!

*sigh* I wish I lived over there...I live all the way in Kentucky...wah. Have fun Greg! Btw, my friend owns a book with you as editor! It's pretty cool. It's called Starwars RPG

You're not missing much -- it's not like I am doing a signing there. It's purely standing around asking people if I can help them find the LEGO sets they're looking for, etc. Basically, doing the same kind of stuff a store employee does at this time of year.

Heh, funny. You'll be having the time of your life on my birthday. I'd like to come just to meet you again (I interviewed you at Comic Con 2006, if you remember), but me being on the other side of the country and that being my birthday, not happening. Well, have a good time. Happy Holidays!

It would still be cool to meet you there... Although I live in New York State, I'm far away from where you'll be, so I wouldn't be able to come...

Sounds like fun Greg :D

If only I lived near there. However, I bet the closest place I can go where BIONICLE might go would be about 6 hours away. Maybe one day...

Anyway, you have fun there Greg. I'll keep in mind to hold off any and all PM's I may have for later :)

'not like you're doing a signing'

If I lived close enough to there, I'd bring my books and comics and a pen....

I'd also come just to say 'hi'

Which, by the way, you should report on how many people came to say hi to you.

'help them find the LEGO sets they're looking for, etc'

I do that in my local Lego store, and I don't even work there! And you're not a store employe, you are the GregF.
