We did that in Bio class once.

 

My teacher said that it was becaue women were biologically equipped to do so because of pregnancy labor pains or something.

 

But we still make more.

Maybe, but until then, it's still MYTH CONFIRMED!

It's an adaptive trait; while men tens of thousands of years ago hunted beasts and got hurt a lot, they didn't need to be able to absorb more pain. Women, however, have to be able to absorb more pain for child-bearing reasons. Thus, humanity adapted.

 

However, I feel the need to point out that men have been scientifically proven to be able to heal faster than women. =P

^Not to mention greater brute strength, speed, and, some say, ranged vision, though girls have better color vision.
