It is with great pleasure that we announce to our members that "The C.I.R.C.L.E." has officially decided to use GoogleWave for future non-voting discussions!

 

GoogleWave is a Google-hosted messaging service that allows for quicker communication within a group such as ourselves. Each discussion gets its' own private "Wave" and anyone with an invitation can then contribute to the discussion without the rest of the world being privy to the conversation. Furthermore, GoogleWave saves all of the conversations, so there's no need to use your harddrive space to record them. Also, everything that you type is recorded in real-time. If you missed some of the discussion, you can just hit the "Playback" button and watch the conversation unfold in front of you.

 

We believe that, with this tool, we can communicate easier over issues that arise within our group without the worry of the general public overhearing or the need to send out and reply to a mass of PMs. This is also helpful to discuss things that are to be kept private under the various "Non-Disclosure Agreements" we've all agreed to.

 

You can sign up with GoogleWave by clicking the above posted image, then all you need to do is register for it with your e-Mail address. For those of you worried about you privacy, fear not, your e-Mail address is kept completely confidential. You simply create an @GoogleWave.com address, for instance:

  • Kohilå is KohilaIce@GoogleWave.com
  • Koji is SirKoji@GoogleWave.com
  • Talvak is Torchflare1234@GoogleWave.com
  • Makar is Toa.Makar@GoogleWave.com
  • Zorrakh is Zorrakh@GoogleWave.com
  • Zahaki is GeneralZahaki@GoogleWave.com
  • I'm still waiting to hear from other members
The @GoogleWave.com address is then used to communicate with all our other members on GoogleWave without handing out your personal information that others might see. Everything is straightforward from there; you decide upon what you want your address to be, but please honor our request and choose something that is recognizably you for the @GoogleWave.com address so that communication isn't confusing for anyone.

 

Once we have a sufficient amount of people on GoogleWave, we will open up with a discussion concerning our upcoming Contest. Those who join later will have the Wave sent to them as well so that they can catch up on the current events.

I would sign up, for a Google account in general, but since they seemingly made it impossible to register without a cellphone, to receive the text message confirmation code, I cannot make an account, seeing as I don't own a cellphone.

When i try to add you two to my contacts is says that your accounts don't exist.

It takes some getting used to, I actually had to look this up in the Help Section to make sure I explained it correctly. :P

 

Anyway, you have to use the whole address, so to add me you first click the plus in the far bottom left, then type "toaausar@googlewave.com" with no underscore. For Kohilå you click the same plus and then type "kohilaice@googlewave.com".

 

It won't show up.

Can you be more specific?

Zorrakh is already taken... Geez, what's the chance of that happening? :P Whoops, nevermind; I didn't know I could already login with my gmail account. XD

I didn't know that either. :shrugs:

 

Anyway, I guess members should either post their @GoogleWave.com Names here, or PM them to me, so that I can add them to my contacts as well.

Try again, I linked the image directly to the registration page so you shouldn't need a cellphone.

I did. I have to make a Google account, and when I finish the first page, it requires a number to send a text to in order to give the registration information. Screenshot is linked.

Very strange. I get nothing like that. :huh:

 

Maybe try creating a GMail account instead and then just use that to sign in on GoogleWave. ;)

 

If that doesn't work you could always try it on a different computer or maybe just PM me the necessary information and then I could create the account for you I guess. :notsure:

Sounds good. I'm sorry that I couldn't help you more, but I'm a GoogleWave newbie too. :dazed:

 

So now there are four of us confirmed. I still need confirmation that it's "Zorrakh@googlewave.com" before I can send out a fifth invitation.

So sorry guys, I cant see myself getting on anytime soon.

 

Edit: Ok, Ive managed to fix that problem and now its telling me I have to get Google Chrome to use the Google Wave....

Yeah, I dont see this happening anymore, I'm not allowed to download it.

Turns out my Tub Account IS a Google one... who knew?

But I was thinking, how come the forum we had on the C.I.R.C.L.E. Website was removed? That would of been good for C.I.R.C.L.E. Discussions.

I had the same Problem Zahaku... Yet if you download it, it takes afew seconds, and free. Or is it another reason you can't?

Yes, you enter the e-Mail address you currently use to create the account and the username you choosewill become the new one. Anyway, it says that "GeneralZahaki@GoogleWave.com" does not exist. :uhuh:

 

How come the forum we had on the C.I.R.C.L.E. Website was removed? That would of been good for C.I.R.C.L.E. Discussions.

The forum sadly had to be deleted when I switched the Webs account from using the Website Builder to custom html. I could try and see if I can get it back.
