Not exactly my favorite set, but not bad [William Furno definitely looks a lot better from DV's review]. Also my first time using a black background instead of white -- I'm still not pleased with some of the pics I took, but most turned out alright. Anyway, since I finished taking pics yesterday, I'll start on a review some time next week.

What was your lighting setup? Long exposures with lights coming in from the two sides will help you pull in the black details on the set instead of them melting into the background.

The sun. =P But yeah, I put a table outside with a black poster upright [well, resting against an upright white poster board] and a black poster on the table, and then with a little editing this is the result. I don't really have any good lights inside that I could use for this, so yeah. :/

If you're using the sun, there are some things you can do to increase your lighting as well. Get some white posterboard and set it up so that it's reflecting light onto the set. You may not notice the difference with your eyes, but the camera will. You can set some reflectors, just shiny paper, or shiny cloth or whatnot, and do the same thing, and it'll diffuse the light and fill in the dark spaces as well.

Also, you can make a lightbox, which I highly recommend.

TRU? Or where?

Yep; TRU.

@ DV ~ Thanks -- I'll try those out for next time.

@ Press Alt+F4 to win ~ Yeah, possibly.
