Ah, so you are a girl after all!

I'm pretty sure this is just a short story he's written, or otherwise just writing out a point and not saying he "is" a girl. I could be wrong, but I think that's the meaning behind. Also Darlene Conner, I immediately thought of the TV show Roseanne lol

*points at the tags* one of them is "literature" so I'm rather sure about that, too.

As for the text itself, I can totally relate to that. 100%. Sadly I don't have much more tosay, other than that it's very close to the truth, and shows some great insightfulness.

@EW: Remember the gender-changing fad back in 2007? Maybe we should revive it.

@Roablin: The Great Grant is correct.

@Great Grant: This was directly inspired by the poem "To Whom It Concerns", and we're both thinking of the same character. Darlene Conner is possibly one of my favorite TV characters of all time. I remember back when I saw Roseanne for the first time and immediately wanted to see more because of her. Somehow I totally liked her right away, and there are moments where I feel like I'm her, so when I wrote this letter in her voice, it felt almost like we were the same person for a moment.

"To Whom It Concerns" is also one of my favorite poems of all time, by the way. Perhaps I should create a compilation sometime.

@Taka Nuvia: I'm glad you can relate, because it's good that this can be relevant to more than one person. At the same time, it's sort of a downer that this is something you can relate to, but I guess life isn't perfect.

As for the insightfulness, it's something my mother suggested (and I wish her a happy Mother's Day, by the way). If we're all more understanding then our relationships with other people will be happier, healthier, and better. It's my hope that I can change at least one life by showing that I care enough to understand. Thank you.

Ah well, it's something you get used to. I guess at the moment it's only different because my class consists of almost 100% girls. And to be honest, while it does have some advantages, it can be rather annoying as well. *shrugs*

That's most certainly an important point, but being understanding also requires tolerance, and the will to try to understand why someone who is different is different. Another thing that I've yet failed to find in society. (Generalizing. It can be found, but usually only in individuals.)

On a completely unrelated note:
