Finally saw it with a buddy tonight.

It was phenomenal.

Unlike me, he has read the book, and he felt the movie broke the stereotype and was indeed better than the book. We both agreed it seems ludicrous for it to be split into three films, but after sitting through this one, I'm glad. There was so much packed in there I'd hate for things to be cut out.

If only the actual trilogy could have been similarly split...

Anywho, if you haven't - go out soon and see it! I'm glad I didn't wait for a DVD release on this one.

Purely from my second-hand knowledge of Bond movies... I must say, Skyfall was a pretty good Bond movie.

And was at the least pretty entertaining.

So guys. Guess what!

An Assassin's Creed movie is totally happening!

It's apparently going to be produced by and star Michael Fassbender as Desmond, but I don't really know much about him or have seen anything he's been in that I recall... But age aside, I think he could fit the look easily enough.

I'm also dying to know which ancestor(s) it will star. But we probably won't know that for a while. *siiiigh*

Still, I'm going to remain hopeful for this one. And even if it sucks my fanboy love will probably blind me to that fact, so yeah.

The Hunger Games

That movie's still hip and relevant, right?

Finally saw it tonight.  It's not that I didn't want to see it, I just didn't have any interest.  But then the girlfriend wanted to see a movie and we ended up there.

It was... pretty good.  I knew it was part of a series, so honestly didn't expect the entire games to finish in just the first movie/book.  I can only begin to imagine what's in store for the sequels.*

I think there was a good amount of action, but the storytelling lacked at times.  It didn't feel like there was much of one until near the end.  But that's okay, because in waiting for that things were kept pretty suspenseful.

I also got in a tiny debate afterwards about which character I'd fit best.  I couldn't decide between the psychotic one that gets killed last (whose names I can't remember... seriously, they're all pretty odd despite an apparently futuristic setting) or the president guy who clearly does not like people bending the rules.
