Late Night Rambling

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in BZPower, Nintendo, Random, Real Life Jan 25 2013 · 48 views

Hey, folks. Like I said yesterday, I am back to ramble for a bit here.

Before I do though, I just want to apologize for well, disappearing and all for past few days. You see apparently adjusting to working full time is harder than I was expecting, especially when it comes to my sleep schedule. And well, a lot of BZPower blog entries are well written at like near midnight hours. So yeah, writing blog entries wasn't going to help with that. If anything, I probably shouldn't be even writing this now since it almost midnight here and all.

But well, I feel like I owe you folks an update, so I just have to deal with it (lol I'll probably be kicking myself for saying that tomorrow). So yeah, with that said and all, sorry for lack of active from me lately.

Alright, moving on from that, I guess I can ramble about... Hm...What should I talk about here? Well, I guess I could mention that I got a raise at work today. Hm...No, actually that's not very interesting thing to mention here since there isn't really an interest story behind it or anything. I just got my degree last semester and well, my boss decided to recommend I get a raise when he was made aware of that fact. Yeah, it is boring story and I doubt you folks care to hear about dull life of JMJ anyway.

So what should I talk about then? Well, I guess I can mention that I am quite excited about a lot of Wii U games for this year and probably next year (Since obviously stuff like Bayonetta 2 are probably not going be coming out this year considering how far they are in development with it.). I think what I am looking forward to the most at the moment is Wind Waker remake since it is, well, a Zelda title and based on pictures, the graphics look really good on the Wii U. Plus, Wind Waker is kind of my favorite Zelda game, so it is hard not to be excited about a remake of it, even though technically I could just pull out my GameCube and play it again if I really want to.

Hm...Another Wii U title that I am excited is whatever Monolith Soft is working on because based on in development footage, the game looks pretty awesome. I especially like fact that there might be mechs in it. But yeah, I am definitely looking forward to seeing more news on this game in the future.

Alright, moving on from that topic, I guess I can talk about some blog plans that I have currently. The first, well, being that I think I might end up having an entry here that will kind of be a monthly weight in thing. Why? Because I think it will help motive me to start losing some weight and get into the habit of exercising regularly.

Hm...Honestly I doubt you guys would care to see an entry like that, so I guess I could keep track my weight a different way. Especially if that end up annoying you folks, which I don't want to do. *shrugs* I guess I'll leave it up to you folks to decide really.

As for other blog plans, I may be hosting a contest here in the future. I am not sure what type of contest it will be though. So you know what how about folks tell me what you prefer to see: a Writing Contest or a MOC Contest?

Okay, I think ramble enough here. Well, actually no, I don't think I have. But honestly I need to go to bed, so that getting up at 6 AM won't be worst. With that said, thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a good day. Night, BZPers.

Random Entry: My Degree and Fire Emblem

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Real Life, Random, Pokemon, Nintendo Jan 24 2013 · 45 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in really quick to show you folks that I finally got physical copy of my degree today. You can see it in this picture here. And yes, I edited my name and school out for obvious reasons. Oh, and that badge looking thing on the paper is just there to denoted that I graduated with high honors (I did, after all, have 3.70 GPA there.).

In other news, I took this picture while I was playing the new Fire Emblem demo, which I must say I think I might end up getting this game since it seems pretty interesting and fun. I mean it is either that or I will bum it off my sister when she is done with it since I know that she has preorder it already.

Oh, and apparently Pokemon X & Y news got my sister back into Pokemon as she seem to have jump back into playing Pokemon White and she makes plans to get White 2. lol Of course, she had to ask me if that was right sequel to White (Which as far as I am aware it is.) and if I know where to get it cheap. XD

But anyway, this blog entry isn't about my sister, so let's get off that topic. Hm...So what should I talk about? Oh, you know what I don't have enough time to ramble tonight, so I guess I'll have to do some rambling tomorrow. So yeah, I guess I'll talk to you all tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a good day. Night, BZPers.

Late Night Rambling - Wii U Edition

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Nintendo, Random Nov 29 2012 · 71 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in let you all know that I recently got a Wii U a few days. So yeah, if you guys want to ask me any questions about it, feel free to do so here.

Oh, and if you have a Wii U, you can find me in Miiverse as BZPJMJ64. My profile there is pretty bare though since I hadn't made much use of Miiverse yet. That's mostly because I can't think of anything to write or draw there. That and trying to write something around Miiverse's character limit is a pain. Plus, I have been having some connection issues with the Miiverse lately.

So yeah, the system does have its share of bugs to it right now. Hopefully the patch next month will resolve most of issues with it. Overall though, I do like the system, especially the controller for it. Heck, I am very tempt to buy a bunch of games for it like Darksiders II, Batman: Arkham City, and ZombiU. But man if I do, my wallet is totally going to hate me. XD

Oh, wait...I forget to mention what games I have. At the moment, I have New Super Mario Bros U (Which I must say I am surprised that I brought this game since I know how horrible I am at platform games.), Epic Mickey 2 (Which personally I am having a lot of fun playing at the moment.), and Nintendoland (Which I must say it does a great job showing off the systems' abilities and I am pleased to see that there are actually a lot of single player places to check out.).

Alright, so beside the Wii U talk, I guess I should mention here that I only about two weeks away from graduating Community College with my associate degree in applied science for the field of Mechanical Technology. I must say I am kind of scared since well, I do have my doubts on how successful I will be in finding a better job than my current one right now. *shrugs*

*yawn* Well, it is getting too late for me to stay up now, so I am calling it a night. Thanks for taking the time to read this, folks. I am sorry if it was boring entry for you to read. Okay, I'll talk to you all later and good night, BZPers.

Belated Pokelogs - Snorlax Edition

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Nintendo, Pokemon Oct 11 2012 · 93 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in to give you all an update on my progress in Pokemon Black 2; which I have been playing for past few days, so I technically should of had one of these entries for Monday and Tuesday. But well, I kind of too busy playing the game during my free time to really write one of these.

Heck, I probably would be playing more now, if it weren't for fact that I do feel like I need to go to bed early today. Especially considering I am still tired after taking a nap today, which also unfortunately made me miss tonight's Ninjago episode. Yeah, I am a fan now and I am officially up to speed with TV series. Apparently there are some books though, so I might want check those out.

Oh, and I am probably going to be writing up an entry here at some point to summary some of my thoughts of series so far and some theories that I might have. But that's for a later entry, this is Pokelog, so let's move on.

Alright, last time we talked about my progress, I was in Floccesy Ranch helping Applejack (Yes, I know her name isn't Applejack. But well, they didn't even give her a name, so the brony in me felt it was good idea to give her that nickname. Deal with it. :P ) find her missing dog. And well, I founded it chasing after what appears to be a Team Plasma grunt.

this cool BZPer), and Magby (Nicknamed Lit'Tahu; I'll probably be changing his name to just Tahu later as that name does look kind of weird.).
- And of those Pokemon, I only picked Magby to join my team and end up PC-ing Azurill for him.
- Okay, so I stopped training when my Pokemon were all about level 15 or so. And well, I challenged the Gym and surprisingly enough it was hardly a challenge, nor was I defend once by the Gym leader there. I do rather like the design idea for gym though as it is interesting seeing music club in Pokemon world. That and music in background, before you stopped it, actually have vocals so to speak, which is kind of surprising. I mean yeah, it is just saying the word Pokemon and spelling it out repeatedly. But still it is kind of cool that they did have that and the music even reacts to when you challenge one of musicians; so that when you finally beat the Gym leader, the place is dead quiet because NPCs have stopped practicing their music.
- After beating the Gym leader, I naturally went over Pokestar Studios place to check it out and like a lot people, I think this place is actually pretty cool. I didn't spent a whole lot of time there though since I didn't want to end up spenting several hours trying to make good Pokefilms, when I could be continuing my journey. So basically I made the first Brycen-Man film and I attempted the first Mystery Doors of the Magical Land film, but ended up bailing out when things did not go too well. Hm...I'll probably play with it some more at a later point. But right now, my main focus is on my journey through Unova.
- Once I finished playing with Pokestar Studios, I returned to Virbank City and found the apparently reborn Team Plasma being confronted at the harbor by Roxie and my rival, Samuel. So naturally I walked over to help them and took out one of the three Team Plasma grunts before they ran off to somewhere in Route 20. And well, my rival really want to not letting them get away, so we chased after them (Which if I had to guess is because they probably conned him two years ago to give up his partner.). I only found one of them though and after battling them, I found out they had a boat of some sort.
- So I ended up taking the ship at Virbank harbor over to Castelia City; which from what I have explored of it, it has changed very little in this two years gap of time. I mean there are changes to it like the old Team Plasma base is now Medal Achievement HQ place. But well, none of changes make me feel like I don't know where I am going as everything is mostly in same place and even some dialog appears to be same. Not that complaining though. I just think it might of been nice to mix things up a little is all.
- After exploring the city and training for a bit, I entered the sewers of the city to see if the new Team Plasma was hiding down there. And I must say I like the fact that they added this to city as it added a bit of new to a city that you are mostly already familiar with. It was nice touch and it especially cool seeing like Zubat and Rattata down there. Oh, and by the way, I caught a Rattata (Nicknamed RatMan) and Woobat (Nicknamed Aho-Chan after the BZPer of same name), while I was down there.
- And that about it for what I have done for past few days in game. Well, I did fight the Team Plasma members hiding down there and met some scientist dude, but beside that I hadn't done anything else really.

Hm...Well, I guess I can give you my current team's stats before I called this entry and post it. So here is some information on my current team of Pokemon:
- Magby (Lit'Tahu), Level 19
- Lucario (Rocky Jr.), Level 19
- Flaaffy, Level 19
- Dewott, Level 18
- Psyduck, Level 19
- Pidove (Buzz), Level 19

With that said, thanks for taking the time to read this all and I hope you all have a good day. Night, BZPers.

Pokelog - The Beginning of a New Journey

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Nintendo, Pokemon Oct 08 2012 · 86 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in to let you all know that I did indeed get Pokemon Black 2 today. Unfortunately I did not get to play a whole of it since my father decided to take me out driving, so I am not very far in game. But basically here is what I got done in game so far:

- I have linked up with my Black version, so memory link is active in game and I have seen only one of cool flashbacks so far.
- I have downloaded Genesect mystery gift to my game.
- I picked Oshawott as my starter and got blessed by Arceus with a shiny Oshawott as a result.
- I got to meet Alder for "first time" and listen to his amazing theme again. I seriously needed to get an MP3 of that as I really like listening to it. Argh...Nintendo, why won't you sell soundtracks in America? *shake fist*
- I helped Applejack (An old Rancher lady) find where Winona (Herdier) ran off to.

So yeah, like I say, I did not get a whole lot done in Pokemon Black 2 today. But I am enjoying it and I can't wait to continue play it during some of my free time tomorrow.

Oh, and I also caved and brought Dream Radar for my 3DS, which actually isn't that bad of application from what I played of it. *looks at clock* Unfortunately I kind of have to wrap this entry up as it is late, so I can't really talk about it too much right now. But I try to get around to later to giving you people a better idea at what this application is exactly and whether or not it is worth the 2.99 + tax to get.

With that said, thanks for taking the time to read this all and I hope you all have a good day. Night, BZPers.

Animal Crossing...

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Nintendo Jul 05 2012 · 88 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in because well, I kind want to see if anyone would be interest in maybe hanging out Animal Crossing: City Folks or Animal Crossing: Wild World. Is anyone interested? I am just asking because I been thinking lately about going back to that game for a bit and I thought it might be fun to go hang out with some online people there.

That's all I really have to say for this entry. Thanks for taking the time to read this, folks. And I hope you all had a good July 4th, even if you aren't celebrating America's independence day. I'll see you all later, BZPers.

You know I seriously thought I might of just been overreacting yesterday about Nintendo's presentation. But now I don't really know since I kind have even more mix feelings about their presentation after hearing their line up for 3DS, especially considering it is not nearly as large as they seem to implied it was and there was pretty much no new title announcements. *shrugs*

Oh, well, it is nothing to get too upset since the games that I want (Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Pokemon Black 2, and Luigi's Mansion 2) do have release dates this year, after all. Wait a second...Where was Animal Crossing: Jump Out release date news? ...

...

...

...

I am disappointed in you, Nintendo. You better make those Pokemon Black & White 2 applications free to make it up to me. That and announce the release date of Animal Crossing: Jump Out before October. Can you do that?

Also I must get 1% of profits you make on the Wii Fit U since I thought of whole linking pedometer (Okay, I did say to do it with 3DS, but still it was my idea.) to the Wii Fit game to help the game produce more correct results to display on the charts there as it will have data from your everyday life to factor in. :P

...

Yeah, guys, I am not being serious here about Wii Fit U thing. I am disappoint with the gaming news from Nintendo this E3 obviously, but I have faith that line up for Wii U will get better as time goes on (Now I am not saying the complete line up for Wii U is terrible, but it does leave quite a bit to desire. The 3DS, I think, is mostly fine as long as they get Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Animal Crossing out this year.).  So here's hoping it does and that they do announce Animal Crossing news somewhere else.

But anyway, I think I done enough complaining in this entry for one day, so I am calling this entry and post it. Oh, and I should noted that I will probably be doing post-E3 entry next week since I want to take time to let some of news grow on me. That and I need time to watch the other folks' announcements, so I could maybe be little less Nintendo biased with my comments here (Which kind of hard thing to do for me since I been exposed to Nintendo products since birth.). I most likely will be doing that entry in more of highlight section, so it hopefully won't be too long.

Okay, I am heading off now. Thanks for taking the time to read this and good night, folks.

Nintendo E3 Presentation - Initial Opinion

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Nintendo Jun 05 2012 · 60 views

Hey, folks. I am just popping in to give you guys my two cents on Nintendo's E3 Presentation. And well, guys, I got say as much as I love Nintendo and will likely be continuing to buy their products for as long as they are around, I was not overly impressed by their E3 Presentation, if only because I felt their first party line up could of use some more single player intend games listed.

Now don't get me wrong here, I like having local co-op games as much as the next person since they can be fun games to play with friends. But when you are a guy like me that rarely has friends over, it hardly seems worth the cash to buy those games, unless by some chance they have online play modes (Which they rarely ever do. :( Seriously Nintendo, why you not let us play these games online with friends?).

So yeah, I am not bashing Nintendo for having games like Nintendo Land, which does look like a fun game for a party with friends, and New Super Mario Bros. title, which was to be expected since Nintendo knows they needed a Mario title for launch of Wii U and all they had to do was tweak Wii version of game with some new features and graphics (I have no plans of getting this game, which is not surprising considering I say the same thing last year when they show a tech demo of this game at E3 2011.), as launch titles. But well, I do think they should of had a little more than just Pikmin 3 as a single player launch title for the system (Admittedly I am kind of interest in trying the Pikmin series out, so I might end up getting this game for the Wii U.).

However I will admit I did find quite a few of their third party games to be attract, so I still have every intention of most likely buying this system at release. I do have some mix thoughts about it though as I can see the Miiverse having some negative effects on my gaming experience since we all know mature is rare thing when it comes to gaming (Just look at average Xbox 360 conversations), so I could see a lot of disgusting spam end up on there. That and I can see people spamming people to use the Wii U's camera, which also can have some negative issues as well.

If anything, it is because of these possibly issues that I most likely will be putting tape over Wii U's camera and I will more than likely have the internet off on my Wii U most of the time, so I am not bother.... But anyway, the titles from Wii U that I am interest in checking out are the following:

- LEGO City: Undercover > This one was kind of a given considering I want it even before we officially saw a trailer for it this year.
- Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition > Well, I have been interest in getting this game for quite sometime now, so hearing that it is going to be on Wii U makes me quite excited to the say the least.
- Assassin Creed III > Ever since Tobuscus introduced me to the series, I have taken a slight interest in checking this series out. So yeah, I am probably going to think about getting this game for the Wii U.

Here's hoping that Wii U does not cost me all my life savings, so I can actually get maybe one of these games at release. Hm...I think that's all the comments I have on Nintendo E3 News at the moment. I'll probably post another blog entry later in the week commenting on other folk's news and maybe write up another entry next week with my post Nintendo E3 thoughts to see whether or not they have change.

Oh, and before anyone tells, yes, I am aware that 3DS Presentation is tomorrow. Will I be commenting on it though? Probably not since I doubt what they will say is really news worthy outside of them saying release dates for 3DS games announced last year. With that said, I think I am going to call this an entry and post it. Night, BZPers. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Belated Pokelog - Sleepy Edition

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Random, Pokemon, Nintendo Jun 04 2012 · 40 views

Hey, folks. Apologizes for not getting this up earlier, I kind of got distract last Sunday with Wii U news stuff, so I wasn't able to get around to write my Pokelog for Saturday's playthrough. And unfortunately I do not really have a lot of time to go in depth as I normally do with these Pokelogs, so instead I will just be focusing on the highlights.

The following are the highlights of my playthrough last Saturday:
- A battle with Pokemon Ranger inspired this entry.
- Leveled up most of my team through training to level 40 (Which I think is still too underlevel for where I am in the game.).
- I beat the seventh Gym leader rather easily mostly due to my starter's type advantage.
- Try to stop Team Plasma from fulfilling their plans at Dragonspiral Tower, but ultimately fail to stop N from waking Zekrom.
- I got to see an awesome looking cut scene with N and Zekrom at the top of the tower.
- I am told by N to seek Zekrom's opposite in Relic Castle, so that is where I am now and have left off there.

And well, I am not sure what to expect here since the game does not appear to have given me the Master Ball yet. Not that I would use the Master Ball on Reshiram for you see, I am simply saying I think it is odd that I have not receive one yet. Then again, I'll probably be getting one at end of this trip most likely. *shrugs* I guess I won't know until I find the time to play the game again.

*yawn* Argh...I really don't want to cut this short here, but I am getting kind of tired. And as much as I would like to move on to my next topic (Which is my comments on Wii U news from Sunday), I don't have the energy to keep typing. Sorry, guys. Maybe tomorrow, I'll post a special Nintendo E3 entry after I am able to watch through it all (I unfortunately can't watch it live due to work.).

Oh, and before I go though, does anyone think it is worth getting Pokemon Conquest? I am just asking because I actually think it looks like an interesting game, but I am not sure if I am going to buy it or not. *shrugs*  Also am I only one that wish that Square Enix had their own presentation at E3?

But anyway, I am done, guys. I can't write anymore. I am sorry about this entry being short. Night, BZPers...

I Am Finished! And I Am Blockhead!

Posted by Jedi Master J. , in Video Games, Nintendo May 28 2012 · 83 views
Kid Icarus
Hey, folks. Today's entry is going to be kind of short since I would like to get to bed soon considering I do have work tomorrow. So to straight to point of this entry, I was playing a lot of Kid Icarus: Uprising today (About 6 hours and 26 minutes according to the 3DS's nice little chart thing.).

And well, guys, I think this game might end up being my Game of the Year. Seriously it is awesome game with great humor and I personally recommend it to anyone with a 3DS because it is one of the system's most top-notch titles out this year. Heck, if you don't even have a 3DS and you are planning on getting one, buy this game with it because you seriously won't regret doing it.

Oh, and I am blockhead because I got finished by Pyrrhon a bunch times before realizing he had a shield that I had to take down first. So yeah, once I got pass that stopping block, I was cruising through the chapters and I am now on the final chapter of the game. Which I actually would still be playing now; but since I got work tomorrow and I was getting finished by final boss a lot, I decide to call it a night. I most likely will beat it tomorrow though, so wish me luck with that.

Oh, and for those curious, my favorite chapter has got to be Chapter 18, which I must say really makes me wish that Nintendo could make an adventure game center around being a dog now. Also I really hoping that Nintendo will think about working on another Kid Icarus game since I personally don't want to see Pit go back to the closet of forgotten heroes. *sigh*

Alright, I think did enough promoting of Kid Icarus: Uprising for one night, so I am calling this entry and post it. Thanks for reading it, folks. And I hope you all have a good night. See ya, BZPers.
