Santorum dropped out. While I was quite glad to hear that, considering how I find several policies of his repugnant, I quickly became saddened to learn why.

His daughter, who suffers a rare genetic ailment, has been hospitalized. Regardless of where you fall on the spectrum of parties, please hope for the best.

I was literally on the verge of crying tears of joy when I found out, but then I read a bit more about it and found out why and started feeling like pretty much the worst person ever.

I'm still relieved, but given the unfortunate circumstances, it's nothing to celebrate.

It was entertaining while it lasted - it's just a shame it had to end for such a tragic reason. As someone who spent way too much time in the hospital as a young child, my thoughts are with them.

No family should have to endure something as agonizing as this, and although I dislike him, I hope and pray for the best for him and his family.
