I compiled a list of all racially/speciesially unbiased Lego themes.
- Friends
- Star Wars
- Creator
Bionicle
Slizers
Throwbots
Do non-licensed minifigures even have race? I always figured it was like in Homestuck, except instead of "blank" white everyone was bright yellow.
The yellow tone was intended to be racially neutral, yes.
(With maybe a few exceptions)
Also Town/City is like the only line with a decent gender ratio.

Bionicle
And where females were outnumbered like 10 to 1.
@Deevs and Chols: Good point ![]()

And also Star Wars.
• TECHNIC
I would say Spongebob but there's only like two females? Sandy and Ms. Puff (I don't know if they made Pearl or not?) And there's a high amount of aquatic creatures compared to non-aquatic so yeah.
Insectoids had a couple of sets with female alien-bug-whatevers. And it wasn't a "good vs bad" theme, so they weren't necessarily unfairly labeled as evil.

Insectoids was like just bug people IIRC.
We haven't had any space sets like that for too long lol.
Slizers
Throwbots
Sexist. Do you remember any girls?
• TECHNIC
All the technic people are yellow! Why no blue ones, hm?
* Znapz
* Fabuland
Znapz doesn't count because it lacked american release, and was also just barely lego by the furthest reach. Fabuland was inherently speciesist because I don't remember any cephalopods.
Finally, Jen and I are no longer the only people pointing out how sexist Bionicle was
Were gendered pronouns ever used for Throwbots and Roboriders? I don't recall. I had always assumed them to be sexless and genderless.
Also, I'd question Town/City having a "decent" gender ratio; there definitely are many more women in the line, but it's still a lot heavier on the dudepresence than the ladypresence, which is a wholly inaccurate representation of reality.
What gets me though is how all the AFOLs whine and moan about the Friends line having only one male fig......while they have absolutely no problem with the fact that we're lucky to get one female fig in any other given line.
All that aside, you forgot that Clikits are not racist, speciesist, or sexist.
• TECHNIC
All Technic figs are male, IIRC. Sexist.
forget monorail. it's pretty much single-track.
Slizers

I don't recall any GENDERS.

Check the wiki page, they all get masculine pronouns.
Bricks & More
Dinosaurs (so politically correct when it came to species that you could get in even if you weren't actually a dinosaur!)

It improved over time.
I love the fact that a joking entry has been taken so insanely seriously.

I saw each of these posts as one-upmanship in ridiculousness.
I understand that some of the people here were joking, but sexism and representation in media are pretty serious issues, and Lego (and even moreso, the AFOL community) has had some serious problems with sexism (intentional and unintentional alike). I'm all for jokes, but at the same time, this is also a topic worth (nay, in dire need of) serious discussion.
