Mishaps and Bubble Wrap

My username on here has never made much sense. When I first joined, I think it was something like "MatoranHahli707". Way cheesy, way silly, rather mundane, and really accenting on the fact that I liked the number seven.

Then, I changed it to "Nukaya Cloud Fire", mainly because it had a better ring to it. I have no idea where the name Nukaya is originally from. I know I found it in a book during middle school and wrote it in a notebook of quotes and cool names I had compiled while I was reading my way through the entire fantasy/sci fi collection at my school's library. The Cloud Fire bit came from a "Make your own camp name!" thing that used one of those wonky first letter of your last name and the last letter of your first name scramblers to create what was supposed to be a super creative and awesome camp name. Oh boy!

Long story short, 13 year old me decided pretty quickly that combining those two would be the best thing possible, as it would be a better name than "MatoranHahli707".

Now, twenty year old me is like "Oh hey, that name is way long. Like, I don't even know the last time my name actually fit on the screen in the blogs or the forums. Smart idea, 13 year old me. That was pretty creative, but dang, way to go with the longest name you could make. Probably time to switch it anyway, given I'm known as Nukaya by most people and have been ending posts with that for the longest time anyway."

So, switching up my name now, brb.

Also, I've been on the site for BZPower for seven years as of Halloween? Woot woot.

We're updating the Blog HQ: dusting it off, putting another layer of paint on it, getting some new furniture, the works. Once we're done, it should be much more streamlined, much nicer to look at, and overall more helpful for everyone.

So, go check it out! The blog staff will update a new entry with any new rules, and then after a certain amount of time, delete the entry and add the rule to the blog rules entry. Hopefully, this will keep the blog HQ as well as the rules and guidelines much easier to navigate.

Just a silly little thing that has been slowly pieced together in my mind since mid-August. I miss BrickFair, and so many of the people there loads right now. While I'm excited for the upcoming BrickFest (which I hope that many people I know will be able to attend!), I am really hoping that I'll be able to go to BrickFair 2011. My mom's attitude is that there is no way at all that I should go ever again, but I feel it's more of a money issue, than anything. So! My mental to-do list now includes trying to secure more scholarship money, hopefully getting the job in the art gallery again this school year, and maybe possibly selling paintings and/or photos. We'll see what happens. That, and going all the way to the East Coast on my own has sort of pushed the desire to travel even further in me, so we'll see what happens.

And, of course, BrickFair was amazing this year. Crazy, but amazing. So many crazy memories. So many awesome people, especially on staff that I met and hung out with. You guys are fantastic, and I miss you all bunches! I'm glad I can say I'm part of the BZP staff, as knowing the group who were at BrickFair this year, you guys never cease to make my day. Hugs!

My friend called me this morning to tell me that "There's a LEGO thing going on downtown in Pioneer Courthouse Square, and it made me think of you, so you should go and check it out".

From the info I found on the LEGO site, apparently the LEGO summer tour is mainly for promoting the new LEGO games, as well as to "see all 10 new LEGO Games, play games against other familes for a chance to win cool stuff, and Guess the Number of Bricks in the evil Minotaur model for a chance to win a trip to LEGOLAND Park, California!", with the last stop being Portland.

I'm going to try to go and check it out, if not today, then some time this weekend, as it's going on until the 6th. It seems quite interesting, and if there's any other Portland or nearby area BZPers who are interested in this, you should go check it out!

No way! I'm am talking to some guy right now. It's pretty neat. Still sitting here, writing up some entry about BrickFair. It's really great.

Oh man, Brickfair was so much fun! I miss it lots. I look forward to this entry of yours! I bet it will be full of mishaps. And there was defs bubble wrap. I wonder why that sounds so familiar?

It was super fun! I cannot wait for next year. It probably will be. There was most definitely both of those things. Can't imagine why it sounds so familiar....

So, I may or may not be reading through your old entries... did you know many of these break the rules?

This feels as if this could be a fantastic opportunity to enlighten the blogging members of the site as to "things not to do in your blogs because if you do, your blog will be kidnapped by kitty terrorists or something!"

Ironically I just watched an episode of Futurama where cats are actually super-advanced aliens trying to steal the rotational power of Earth. Kitty terrorists are frightening!

Eep! They do seem as if they are quite frightening. I tend to avoid cat terrorists. They're not very good house guests.

They were terribly frightening! I love cats, but I think in general they don't really consider themselves guests. More like, they live there and you will deal with it, even when you only invite them in short-term, and they decide to stay longer....

It's not late for you, it's only like, 1130pm. That's so early! But yeah, it really is bed time. Some of us are working adults, or something close to it? idk

That's....sort of lateish. And sleep is pretty good, so I think we should go with it. Oh man, we're starting the yawning thing again.

We are doing the yawning thing. I guess I can go to bed....

But talking about everything and Death Cab for Cutie is nice! But yeah, we're definitely doing the yawning thing now.

I think most of the people (and especially staff) at BrickFair who met him agree: he's just like, one of the coolest kids. Really awesome, respectful, funny, super fun to hang out with, smart....he's just so cool!

I am totally Maddison, and I am at Brickfair! Totes serious! I am not someone taking advantage of the webpage she left up when she ran to get ready for the day! Totes not!

And I certainly wouldn't be a blog leader. That would be bad form! Totes bad form! I heart Oregon and everything involved with it!

Running of the bulls at the LEGO store was tonight. I wasn't really sure if I was going to get anything, but they had the Guggenheim Museum set, which was pretty darn cool, plus it was half off at $20 AND I have a LEGO gift card now, so I got it. It's pretty snazzy.

Things are being pretty awesome. I no longer have a voice though, so yelling across large areas of space isn't really working.

The Bionicle mosaics are really close to being done! We're just shy on one piece in the Kopaka one, but other than that, they're looking good! The entire area of the Bionicle tables is looking quite snazzy, and we'll all be running around in our usual sort of fashion the next two days there, so it will be quite exciting and wonderful and LEGOy and rainbowy and such. Hooray!
