I'm actually kind of happy about this ... in fact, I sort of wish that they were always once every two weeks. Here's the reasoning:

There are 26 episodes per season. There are 52 weeks in a year. 52 divided by 2 is 26, so there would be no great gaps between seasons if episodes were aired once every two weeks. Obviously there are downsides to this, but just imagine what the brony community would do if this schedule was announced ...

At least this way, it prolongs season two for just another week.

But The Legend of Korra will! Sure, the first episode has already appeared online, but still I'm going to have to make a habit of watching it since it will be helping me through the hiatus between the second and third seasons of MLP:FiM and Ninjago.

Guys, the 3rd Legend of Korra will air on the 21st, same day as the Royal Wedding. So while we wait for season 3, we can watch Korra. c:
