Oblivion's Oblivious Blog

For round 2 of my match-up with Felix the Cat. The theme was to build a MOC with an "obnoxious color scheme" (Ie, multiple colors, which preferably somewhat clash with each other). I'm fairly happy with how this is coming along, especially for a space ship (since my prior ones weren't really any good).

Apologies for the photo, I took it at around 11PM. So I had to use my camera's flash.

Thoughts so far?

Yay, more stories! [insert excitement]

"Oh my god, there's a test tomorrow?!?" said Tyler.

"Yeah, the teacher told us about it. Twice." his friend replied

"I'm going to fail, I can't afford to lose my A in the class. It's the only one I have!"

"Well, you better get to preparing for it"

Tyler Williams had never been known for acedemic achievement, he's barely known for anything beyond the football field. What would someone think of a school team, when their captain could barely hold onto a 3.0 GPA?

Nothing good, thats what. Last year, Tyler was unable to maintain a 3.0 GPA, prompting his coaches to suspend him from any sort of playing time with the team. Without their All-American quarterback, the team finished 4-13, their worst record in nearly a decade. The coaches knew that without Tyler, their team was horrendous. However, they had to force an ultimatium upon him.

Finish with a 3.0 GPA, or be kicked from the team.

That all occurred last year, this year has been a different story. Tyler had perceveared, he had prepared for any and all tests, quizzes, and essays. But somehow, just somehow, he missed this one test. He knew that without any preperation, he could kiss his A- goodbye.

The next day, Tyler walked into the classroom, sat on his desk, and had a deep sigh. The teacher began to hand out the papers. With every step closer, Tyler's heart was beating faster and faster.

"Oh god" he thought, "I'm so screwed"

The teacher now stood in front of Tyler's desk, his stern face avoiding any eye contact, he placed the paper on the desk.

Tyler looked closefully, and a perplexed look appeared on his face. There was only one question.

"If an All-American high schooler originally had a 1.4 GPAfor two grading periods, and then the following year, ended with a 3.2 GPA. What is his name?"

Tyler looked at the teacher, and a tear began to fall from his eye.

In what felt like a lifelong amount of preperation, Tyler finished with a 3.2 GPA, just enough to allow him to pass.

The next few days, Tyler's team would go onto winning the state championship. Then, winning the national championship.

Tyler was named the team MVP.

Why'd I write it? Don't worry about it


Originating to his young days, John had always seemed to have an obsession with flying. His room resembling an Air & Space Museum, memorobilia of aircrafts both young and old, scattered throughout. Sheets with airplane drawings, toy airplanes, even a  modified fan that resembles the nosecon of an old day air-to-ground fighter plane. His parents did not share such a passion however, telling John that it should focus more on his schoolwork, and think about the future.

Unfortunately, John had to yield to his parents' whimes, as he knew that he needed to succeed in school to even get close to his goal. However, every night, John dreamt of flying, whether it was in a jet plane or in a helicopter. John knew what his calling was, there could be no way for him to avoid his desire of flight.

Now here he is, the best flying ace in the United States Airforce, living the dream that he always wanted. He loved the sound of the engine roaring, the view above the clouds, and especially the mere fact of being in the air. Up here, no one could tell him what his calling is, what he should or shouldn't do with his life. Up here, is his flight from the rules of society. Here, he is Flying Ace John Smith, the best darn pilot the world will ever know.

So this is for my MOC-off with Felix, I'm waiting to see what he makes to go against this, sure will be a fun match though.

Also, apparently my 640 x 640 image had a filesize bigger than 100kb, how in the world do I know it's file size? Since I can easily replace the one on the topic with a 500 x 500, but I'm not sure of the file size =/

It's been a while since I've MOC'd something decent, glad I was able to make something.

I'll try to add some more red to it. The main areas that are unfinished are the waist, upper arms, and midsection of the legs.

Other than that, I'm fairly happy of how this came out, especially with the shaping. C&C appreciated.

A birthday, and other incidents (none of which threatened my life, don't worry) while I was completely gone.

Now it's Spring Break, and I've went and got myself into something. A little competition between myself and FeeFee (Felix the Cat).

Thoughts?

I assume some people have known about this, but this is the first time I've ever seen this. It's pretty interesting how it fits perfectly.

Just needs some good pictures, and possibly a few touch-ups.
