The Hunger Games

Can't wait to see the movie; this one and The Hobbit are my big two for the year, no questions asked.

Actually, I should dedicate an entry to The Hobbit. Expect one tomorrow or the next day. But onto The Hunger Games!

I entered a scholastic contest where we had to send in the first five pages of a story that takes place in the future. The grand prize is an all expenses paid trip to the premiere of The Hunger Games film, and a box set of the books (which I am lacking in). So I'm hoping I win, though I'll still see the movie if I don't.

My entry was about a kid who lives in a giant concentration camp in the time period of 2040-2060, where the city of Little Rock is currently located. But it's totally different in the sotry. Also, in the story the world has been divided into three by the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and Japan after an Axis victory in World War 2.

So yeah.

Sounds like a cool story, actually. A friend of mine just told me to write something similar (weirdly enough =P), but yeah, good premise.

Also the movie is gonna roooooock.
I'm so stoked for this movie... I really hope this is one they get right. *cougheragoncough*

While I didn't enjoy the book, I'm holding out hope for the movie. Since the violence will have to be toned down, I'm hoping that leaves room to add some substance that the book was lacking.

Do not let me get started on the Eragon movie. :P
So it was an Axis victory yet the Soviet Union is still around?

Germany didn't attack Russia in this, which in this would be one of the major reasons why they won.

Italy isn't there for other reasons.
