I forgot to make an entry about this, but I finished rewatching Tamers on Sunday. It's rare to see a show surpass all expectations, especially those tainted with the sickly beast that is nostalgia, but this one did. I can't say I loved everything about it (The actions of the secondary tamers, namely Hirokazu/Guardromon, Kenta/MarineAngemon and Xiaochun/Lopmon in particular were sadly limited), but it was still a very great series and I loved it.
One thing I can't say I'm fond of is the dub's changes to the names. I still don't get how they went from Li Jianliang and Li Xiaochun to Henry and Suzie Wong. That kind of change should be criminal.
Now I'm going to rewatch Digimon Adventure and 02. I'll probably try Savers and Xros Wars after that, since I've never really seen either.

I tried watching Adventure 02 (sub) after Tamers and found that it just didn't stack up to expectations. I still prefer Tamers for the more mature story and characters. Although I will also confess my dislike for the latter season Tamers (with the obvious exception of Rio). They seemed like excessive characters who were mostly annoying and didn't further the story in any way. Especially the three you mentioned. At least Suzie got a Deva. Hirokazu and Kenta did nothing.
