So my folks are going on a trip for a little over a week starting tomorrow. This will leave me, a 21 year old doof in charge of two cats, one dog and a bird in a big, old house designed to occupy a family of at least four which is old and creaking at a time of year when the wind sounds like ghosts galloping in delight bringing chilled temperatures and eerie settings due to the sun setting super early.
But first I need friends within the general area... Dang it...
Whassat, Billy? Where is the text color in this entry?
Thanksgiving was a big holiday for me at work. Lots and lots of baking. I was in charge of most of it, and I'm pleased to say everything was made in time and everything went off with few hitches.
Now I just get to rest up for a little bit and then the holiday baking for the Xmas holiday comes. It looks like we'll have fewer people so it shouldn't be too bad of a holiday to work through (and I'll be working Christmas Day. I should probably enjoy the hours while they last because after the holidays things die down significantly. Plus I'll be able to spend time with Akano after New Years for a bit. Unfortunately KK isn't staying long, so I probably won't be seeing much of him during his break. =/)
Anyway, I've got some free time to kill, so I'll probably try to enjoy myself a bit before Xmas and New Year's.
In other news, I've been playing Pokemon recently and I've caught myself a few shinies via the new consecutive fishing method.
I've got a shiny Clauncher (male), a shiny Clawitzer (female, which I caught on the fifth try, oddly enough), a shiny Politoed (male) and a shiny Octillery which was actually given to me by my brother Akano.
Shiny Clauncher and Clawitzer look fabulous, by the way.
Whassat, Billy? You're not working this holiday season?
Yeah, the finale next week is looking very promising. ^^
I'm glad Vaatu was finally released. Now we get to see Korra fight during the Harmonic Convergence. Also, the Harmonic Convergence is very creepy when it engulfs the entire planet...
Mako is proven innocent! Just in time to be destroyed along with the rest of reality as we know it. 8D
I'm glad Korra doesn't remember that Mako dumped her. Mako's digging his own grave and I'm loving it just as much as Bolin is. XD
Bumi... His stories always seemed so far-fetched. After this episode I believe everything he ever said ever...
I'm a bit surprised that Varrick was actually the culprit behind Mako's arrest. He's so goofy that you don't want him to be an evil mastermind puppetmaster, but up until now there was never any decisive evidence against him. If the makers had more time with this season they probably could've done a clever twist with that bit of the story. My brother wanted the mastermind to be Julie (Varrick's assistant, however you actually spell her name). I honestly could only see that happen if The Legend of Korra and Phoenix Wright did a crossover for whatever reason. XD Also, Varrick serves time in style. Dang.
In the real world, I got off of a twelve hour shift and just woke up at 5 AM to get a drink of water, so I figured I'd go online for a bit. That's really it. I'm that simple a human being (Yaaaay ordinary! 8D)
Okay, maybe I'm not so ordinary. I've got my black cat, Cosmo, purring away all curled up between my arms as I type this. You know, the superstition involving black cats and luck goes a little something like this:
When a black cat crosses your path and flees from you, the cat is stealing your luck away. When a black cat approaches you, they give you luck.
Basically, if you ever shoo away a cat based on its fur color, you're pretty much dooming yourself to an unfortunate situation. It's better to be the kind of person who is approachable than one that is intentionally secluded.
That's if you believe in the superstition, of course. Upupupu.
In any case, Cosmo always cuddles with everyone, so I guess I'm pretty lucky in that respect. ^^ It's definitely a plus after coming home from a twelve hour shift. Better than coming home to a bunch of drama, that's for sure. =P
Anyway, in terms of Nanowrimo, I will not be participating. However, I will be writing this month (just not 50k. XP)
I'm trying to learn to sing Håll om mig (Hold Me Now) because it's a really awesome song and it's used for an AMV of one of my favorite anime's ever.
(Warning: Contains out-of-context spoilers for Guitar Ninjas)
So, why am I attempting to sing in a language that I haven't studied before? ... It's a good song and I like to sing. =P
Your favorite song is 'Moves like Jaggar'?
... GET OFF MY LAWN! (Srsly get out if you like that song >=/ ) ~Tekulo <3
Post-Lawn-Script: For anyone who is curious about the lyrics' meaning, I shall post a translation I found below.
Everything our world needs is more love each day. We both know that, I and you. Let us begin here and now.
So hold me. Don't let go of me. It's as if I'm bewitched by you. And I want you. Come and hold me now.
Yes, come closer for awhile. Can you hear my breath? The blood is rushing wild and hot. Yes, in so many different ways.
So come and hold me. Don't let go of me. It's as if I'm bewitched by you. And I want you. Come and hold me now.
Pulse beating, I see your gaze, ohh~ I'm in a helpless state. I can be saved first if you... ...give me mouth to mouth now.
So hold me. Don't let go of me. It's as if I'm bewitched by you. And I want you. Come and hold me now. Yes, come and hold me. Don't let go of me. It's as if I'm bewitched by you. And I want you. Come and hold me now.
I'm lost and enthralled. I am shocked and touched. Heart beating so hard. Leaving you alone becomes so difficult. And I think you see, that I'm falling more and more. Hold meeeee~.
(Yes, hold me) (Don't let go) of me. It's as if I'm bewitched by you. And I want you. Come and hold me now. Yes, come and hold me. Don't let go of me. It's as if I'm bewitched by you. And I want you. Come and hold me now. (Ohhh~, ohhh~) Woah, come and hold me. (Ohhh~, ohhh~) Don't let go of me. And I want you. Come and hold me now.
So with the forums back and all, I just happened to take a look at my spinny and I realized that I've been on BZP since 2003.
Looking back at the archives, I am so glad time changes things. XD
Why, back in my day Lewa had gear functions and there were rahi sets still being sold. Good times.
(Oh, also Mask of Light had come out the year I joined and comics were pretty big on BZP. Dark709 came out with the first full-length sprite movie -which my brother Akano was in for a few seconds. I still say his demise should've been less central to the story and I am in no way making things up details now- and everyone was getting excited about Metru Nui and the identities of the first toa whom Turaga Vakama had alluded to. There was also a huge debate over whether or not Dume was evil).
Looking back, it's amazing what a single decade can do. Before I was a goofy kid and now I'm a goofy adult with a job and responsibilities. It's amazing how much can change yet stay the same at the same time. And the scariest part is that I have plenty of decades of my life to come with decades of changes in my life ahead of me. Well, scary as in exciting, not horrifying. XP
Okay, first off; I've noticed you whippersnappers running across my lawn for a while now... WELL I WON'T HAVE IT!
As of today I'm officially building a fence around my property to keep you troublemakers out! Hah!
Anyway, I've recently purchased the new Pokemon games along with Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies. To refrain from spoilers, I shall not reveal anything major that pertains to the main plot for either game's story. Let us begin.
Pokemon: Despite there only being 69 new pokemon, the game is pretty fun with loads of new features. I'm sure a lot of you have been keeping up with updates since the game's release, so I won't talk your ear off... yet... (Muahahaha)
I decided to start with Chespin, and I am so glad I did! I love everything about Chesnaught from design to in-battle. As for the new fairy type, I've decided to celebrate by naming all of my pokemon after figures in Fairy Tales, Folklore and fictitious mediums of story telling. Luckily for me, that covers a wide range of names to choose from, but I can only do six pokemon per team, right?
Chesnaught: Johannes from the Brothers Grimm tale "Faithful Johannes" where a Prince's servant sacrifices his life to save his master. Later in the story he is rewarded for his loyalty.
Blaziken: If I could give him a nickname, it would probably be Midus in reference to the golden feather color in Blaziken's design. King Midus seems to fit because when he mega evolves, I can't help but think the red spike on his head resembles a crown.
Raichu: Allfur based on the Brothers Grimm tale of the same name. Allfur was a princess who, due to a complicated situation, was forced to dawn a fur coat containing a pelt of every animal known in her kingdom and flee to a far away land. Eventually becoming a cook serving a young king, she never once stops trying to change her fate for the better.
Charizard: Pendragon based on the Brothers Grimm tale "The Two Brothers" The main villain in the second part of this story is a vicious five-headed dragon (Pente + Dragon). Pendragon (apparently) is also a title that refers to one as a leader. While it doesn't exactly fit with Midus in the group, I'd also like to think of him as the leader of villains. It's an unfortunate fact that Charizardonite X does not give Charizard four additional heads.
Espeon: Siegfried based on Prince Siegfried from "Swan Lake" Originally I wanted him to become a Sylveon, but it turns out you need eevee to learn a fairy move plus maxing out its bond in Amie, so I ended up with a super fabulous Espeon instead. I regret nothing.
Sylveon: Mythos based on a character from Princess Tutu. Mythos is a prince from a story who broke free along with his eternal rival to resolve their never ending battle in the real world after their author's death (He died before completing their tale). Mythos is also based off of Prince Siegfried, however he is a prince without a heart and it is something he quests for (in his own way) in the events of Princess Tutu.
Lapras: Odette based off of Swan Lake's princess. Odette is a beautiful young princess who is cursed into the body of a swan. She rules the lake where she is kept as the Queen of the Swans and can only transform back into her human form at night.
Snorlax: RipVanWinkle because he sleeps. A lot.
I have even more, but I don't want to fill this entire entry up with Pokemon stuffs. After all, I still have Ace Attorney to nerd about.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is the newest game in the Phoenix Wright franchise. I have to admit that I was worried when I learned Apollo Justice was still alive in this game. However, being three cases into the game, I have to admit his character got a lot more appealing. It's not just because he's covered in bandages either; he really seems a lot better than he did in his debut.
The cases don't get any less bizarre, however they are definitely worth playing through. The game also has a free bit of downloadable content where you can change the outfits of Athena, Phoenix and Apollo. Each character only gets one additional outfit, however, but it's still a cool little add on to brighten up and customize your game.
Speaking of Athena, she's really growing on me as a character. She's definitely no Maya, but her skills and personality are very much entertaining.
What's that, Billy? You decided to play these games on the 2DS?
Narrator: And so TP and Jalina enter the Wizard's tent. There they find all sorts of mystical items.
TP: Hmm... Eye of newt, bat wings, I don't even know what this is -holds up glowing green jar labeled "Necklace remover"- eh, it's probably worthless, -tosses on ground and breaks jar. The contents ooze into the ground-
Jalina: uh wait - oh okay... what about this? *holds up something that looks like a giant can opener* it looks dangerous D=
TP: Oooh, let's try it! 8D
Narrator: -watches intently-
TP: ... Aren't you going to tell us how it turns out?
Narrator: Nah, i wanna see you guys epically fail on your own. =3
Jalina: *keeps on searching* Ooooh, cool! *lifts a box makred "cursed armour - don't wear"* *opens box* Ooooh it's dark! And there are skulls on it! 8D
TP: Ooh, put it on! I bet you'd look sweet in it! 8D
