At my church, a lot of people mix up my name with my sister's, and vice-versa. She gets called "Becca" and I get called "Jessica." That's understandable, even our parents do that. However, those that are less-than-whole in the mind and/or just-plain-not-thinking tend to think we're both named Jessica. They'll look at me and say "Hi, Jessica!" then turn to my sister and say "Hi, Jessica!" They know we're sisters.
But my sister and I just smile and say, "That's right, my name is Jessica and her name is Jessica. Our parents named us after each other."
Very few people are mixing us up now. There are still those few who say, very seriously, "Well, that makes it easy! Your parents are smart."
It's all part of an entertaining Sunday.
Of course, it's also fun when people think my mom, Jessica and I are triplets. Or that I'm married to my dad. Or that my brother is Jessica's boyfriend. You guys get things like this?
