Working on my Ninjago Story

Y'know, for that contest.

The problem; I'm already at 7 pages and I'm just now getting to the climax. And I haven't even done my whole big Green Ninja reveal yet either!

I know there's a lower limit of 500 words... but this might be pushing the upper limit a bit much.

It might work better as a short epic instead of a looooooooong short story.

I wish I even had the patience to write fan fiction... it doesn't help that all I really have to look back on are rubbish songfics, a rambling, aimless, and excessively ambitious epic, and one factually-challenged short story that I can still somewhat respect. anyway, I wish you the best of luck.

I also wish I still had the patience to read fan fiction, but that's another matter entirely. Overall, I've read so much disappointing fan fiction that I'm rarely willing to devote the time to read a fanfic for long enough to know if I'll enjoy it. But perhaps when this contest is done with I can take the plunge and read some of the entries.

As a former judge for many a story contests here, I know there are some good fan fiction writers out there. But for some reason fan fiction has a general bad rap to it. I was speaking with somebody in my class who though fan fiction was just badly writen Harry Potter shipping stories.

I think Lego themes are much better for fan fiction because the whole point of Lego is to build and imagine things your way, and that's essentially what fan fiction is in written forum. Bionicle is just so great because they gave us so much material to work with.
