My assignments are getting more and more surreal as time goes by. Last week for my final coursework piece for English Language, we were asked to write a piece in any medium portraying the two sides of a particular Language related debate. So, with the opportunity to let my mind off the leash, I promptly wrote a short story about aliens about to invade Earth while arguing over whether it's better to speak in Received Pronunciation or in a Birmingham accent. I will say again that this is for my final A Level grade. I'll find out whether this is a path I should continue following when I get my draft back on Friday.
And right now, the reason that I'm writing this entry is because I'm now writing a Film Studies essay about why I sympathise with dragons. I have to write extensively about how a film of my choosing provoked an emotional response from me, so I decided to go for the classic Dragonheart. I just hope I don't get asked to explain myself to the class again...
It was that or Click and I think it's easier to explain why I was upset when a dragon died than when Adam Sandler did.
