10 Dreamiest Male Video Game Characters #1

Posted by Kohaku , in Video Games Dec 16 2012 · 231 views

Alright, time for #1 on our dreamy list of fabulous male video game characters. This one shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me as it is....

#1 - Link - Legend of Zelda Series
Posted Image

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Link. Link is amazing, strong, handsome, fabulous, cute, sweet. I think the reason he has had such a profound affect on me is that he literally was my first video game crush. Link is just simply amazing. I need to go kidnap Link and have my own entourage of every single Link ever. I'm not gonna write anything super long because I have to go daydream about my hero now.

Seriously though, how can you not love him? BACK OFF HE IS MINEEEE, MY PRECIOUSSSSSS!

10 Dreamiest Male Video Game Characters 5-2

pretty boys, video games
Okay, this was supposed to be up much sooner... but I was at a birthday party for a friend. Then I was messing around on twitter... so I got distracted. And because it is 3:30 AM I'm not typing huge things for all of them. XD

Anyway to continue the list.

#5 - Neku Sakuraba - The World Ends With You
Posted Image

Okay so clearly I have a thing for animated guys too... but I don't care! Neku may be a bit mean at first, but he does warm up and learn a lot, as a character I really like him. As I'm sure you've all noticed. Unless you've been hiding under a rock.

#4 - N (Natural Harmonia Gropius) - Pokemon
Posted Image

I love N, he is such an awesome character. Plus the Ferris Wheel ride in Black had some lovely subtext and he and my main character in Pokemon Black... well that is one of my Pokemon OTPs. I love that flowing hair...

#3 - Zack Fair - Final Fantasy VII Series
Posted Image

Zack is possibly my favorite Final Fantasy character ever. I loved him so much in Crisis Core, and I both loved how they did the ending and hated it. I hated seeing from his point of view his last moments.

#2 - Pit - Kid Icarus Series
Posted Image

Hey there Angel face! Angels are awesome and Pit is quite the cutie. I've loved his design ever since it knocked me on the floor in the first Super Smash Bros. Brawl trailer.

#1......... will be posted tomorrow(well later today). During the day.

I honestly could have had this list be larger but it would have consisted mainly of Final Fantasy characters and Kingdom Hearts characters.

10 Dreamiest Male Video Game Characters 10-6

pretty boys, video games
I had to differentiate the title from my crack series.

This time... they will be broken down in three articles. This is a more serious list of the dreamiest and hottest male video game characters. You get pretty boys because I'm gay and I like pretty boys. I will say that I hate the general strong beefy type of guys most modern games have. I don't like that at all, also... I hate all the facial hair. So... this list is my personal list and most of the guys on it are pretty bishonen. Verrrry pretty.

#10 - Dante - Devil May Cry Series

Posted Image

Dante is pretty much on the fringe of this list. I like the way he dresses though.

#9 - Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney
Posted Image

You can't deny a man who wears a suit as well as he does. I do not object at all.

#8 - Genesis Rhapsodos - Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core
Posted Image

Genesis is one of my favorite characters from FFVII, I loved his style and he is very pretty.

#7 - Roy - Fire Emblem
Posted Image
Super Smash Bros. Melee brought us some glorious things, among them it introduced us to Fire Emblem and to one of my favorite characters from the series, Roy. Although... Marth is awesome too... I enjoyed Roy's fighting style more.

#6 - Isaac - Golden Sun Series
Posted Image

Pretty boys with what amounts to psychic powers... sign me up! I love the designs of the characters in Golden Sun, including of Isaac's son Matthew.

These characters are all awesome and quite pretty... but I think the top five are even better and more amazingly dreamy. Stay tuned for more... tomorrow.  I'll be a lot more wordy with those.

12/12/12 Concert for Sandy Relief

Posted by Kohaku , in Uncategorized, Real Life Dec 12 2012 · 102 views
Hurricane Sandy
First off, we are still looking for donations as we were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.

Second off, a ton of channels and networks are airing the concert, you can make a donation to the Robin Hood Relief Fund on the official website and you can watch the concert at the link as well.

Thirdly, do not donate to the American Red Cross. The millions that they have received has only gone to watered down stew. They have like no blankets and we know from a friend who volunteered that they actually said no to giving away a blanket. Not to mention the Red Cross takes 9% of every donation for themselves. They are in my opinion horrible. Due to the fact that we have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy we have seen how utterly useless and horrible their service has been.

First thing is first, this is a crack entry and is not meant to be taken seriously.

Second, I love all the ladies, but I'm not the best judge with HAWT ladies because I'm very, very gay. So you get a list of fictional Nintendo guys.

Third, if anyone wants me to make a serious list after this, just ask. Although that list would be a lot harder to make.

On with the list!

#10 - Escargoon - Kirby Series
Posted Image
Look at that magnificent shell. Truly the HAWTest snail ever.

#9 - Kamek - Super Mario Series
Posted Image
Kamek is one fabulous Magikoopa and he exudes rainbows!

#8 - Mr. EAD - F-Zero Series

Posted Image
A picture is worth a thousand words.

#7 - Spire - Metroid Series
Posted Image

Look at those ROCK HARD ABS!

#6 - Star Wolf - Star Fox Series
Posted Image
Woof woof indeed!

Check back tomorrow for the rest of the list!

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Posted by Kohaku , in Video Games Dec 08 2012 · 127 views
Paper Mario, Stickers
As I don't have anything new to report on the Permit situation, I'm going to post something a bit different today. After all, this isn't the doom and gloom blog.

I downloaded Paper Mario: Sticker Star a while ago and I've been pondering how I've felt about it ever since I beat it. This is kind of a spoiler free minireview.

Sticker Star isn't a bad game... but it isn't a great game compared to the other games in the series. I like Paper Mario: Sticker Star, but it could be so much better.

The great parts of it are fantastic, the jazzy music is some of the best in the series, the 3d effect is great with the paper and cardboard effects, the writing that is there is great too. Even the battle system is great.

However, I want a story with my Paper Mario games. There is a story but it is such a bare bones story that it detracts from the game being a Paper Mario game. If anything it is Paper Mario Lite. Bowser doesn't speak at all, he isn't funny at all like we are used to him being, Peach only has a few lines in the entire game. The Toads forget about Peach and start repairing the sticker fest which Bowser destroyed. That is pretty much it. There really isn't a story at all. Kersti is a good character that I liked, and the team at Nintendo of America did good with the localization of the game. Intelligent Systems did great with the game. And as much as I love Miyamoto, I can't help but be disappointed in the fact that he made sure that there was no story.

Yes, I miss the partners, but I got used to the battle system and it is okay, it is a fun battle system. My main complaint about the battle system is the fact that you can't choose who to attack. The Thing stickers are wacky and funny though.

However, some of the puzzles regarding the Thing stickers can be rather obscure and crazy. People complained about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and the fact that it was a game that held your hand... they need to play Paper Mario: Sticker Star. It is the complete opposite and has virtually no hand holding.

However, the music in Paper Mario: Sticker Star is fantastic. I must say, I love the soundtrack, it is so catchy and I never though I would hear a jazzy Mario soundtrack, I can't complain about it.

I like Sticker Star, but I think it could have been a much better game than it ultimately was. Don't get me wrong, it is a lot of fun and it is a well polished game and fun game. When it comes to a game in a series it is going to be compared to previous games in the series and I don't think it stacks up to Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. It stands on its own and I think it is a good introduction to the series, but I would love for another game like The Thousand Year Door. This isn't that game.

Have any of you played Sticker Star, what did you guys think?

Permits

Posted by Kohaku , in Real Life Dec 03 2012 · 98 views
Hurricane Sandy
So, we've been in the process of getting a permit to take down the small bungalow. It hasn't been pleasant.

It should have been an easy process, yet at each turn the town keeps throwing new things at us. The house doesn't have asbestos or any other hazardous materials yet we are being given a run around on it. >_<

The bureaucracy of it all sucks.

I would like to also take a small moment here to thank Jedi Master J. or VI. Zexion (as he is currently called) for his sheer amount of donations, it seriously does help and he has gone above and beyond and we are extremely grateful. Thank you!

As always, anyone who wishes to help donate can do so here. You can say you helped fund the tearing down of a house! (Eventually >_>)

A bit of relaxation

Posted by Kohaku , in Real Life, Video Games Nov 26 2012 · 113 views

So, having internet back has been great. However when the hurricane hit we all forgot about something we ordered and paid for.

We forgot until it arrived at a house that we can't live at as we were continuing the clean up. So we set it up at our rental house and finally had some rest and relaxation for the first time since Hurricane Sandy hit.

I must say, the Wii U has been a ton of much needed fun for us. (If anyone wants to add me on Miiverse my username is Kohakuchan)

Other than that, Aleks' grandfather's van has been taken away by a scrapper. The house is still there as securing permits has taken longer than everyone thought.

Everyday has been a bit better than the last, but honestly... at the end of each day we just want to go home. Today though has been a day with no running around and just some simple relaxation. It has been nice and much needed.

Hurricane Aftermath Updates

Posted by Kohaku , in Real Life Nov 22 2012 · 135 views
Hurricane Sandy
So, I've got some updates.

Aleks' grandfather's house is going to be torn down probably tomorrow. This is a job that will cost probably around $10,000. That house didn't have insurance and FEMA isn't giving a dime for it. We do need help paying for this as we don't have the money for it.

If the town were to take it down though it would cost probably $50,000.  Which would be very bad.

I must continue my plea for help in terms of donations to help tear it down. If you can't donate, please spread the word about this.

In terms of how donations are being used:

1. Donations will only be used to replace essential items lost by the hurricane, they will be used for repairs and for in some cases demolition. All donations will be receipted.

2. Not only will there be a receipt, but each one will be put into a receipt book and logged with the information on each donation.

3. Any donations that are left over will be used to help neighbors in the area.

Those are the basics on it, I don't have a degree in legalese so this will have to do for now. If you have any questions please send me a message.

I do have good news and will be able to give updates now as we do have internet back!

Hurricane Sandy Aftermath

hurricane sandy
(Gallery is up here! Donations can be sent here! The images are huge and have not been resized. I am limiting the amount of images for now while we deal with the insurance company and FEMA(who hasn't really been helpful, neither has the Red Cross.) Due to power issues with the nor'easter I'm not direct linking too many images at the moment. More images might be uploaded later too.)

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy our house suffered a large amount of damage. Things are really difficult at the moment. Gas is hard to come by and food is so much more expensive after the hurricane.

The extent of the damage to our house is great. Everything on the first floor that survived Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene, did not survive Sandy.

All of the furniture is a complete loss, such as the couch and table, the refrigerator which we got this year was tipped onto its back and is currently laying on the new pots and pans we got after Irene. Our stove was about 20 days old, we just got it. It had water in the top of it. The air conditioner which was on top of the table was on the floor. The water made the entire thing float.

This isn’t even mentioning the food. All of the food in the house (about two months worth) is garbage. Trash.
That isn’t even the worst of it. We are lucky the house didn’t explode as we weren’t able to turn off the gas to the house. The house has shifted on its foundation by a few inches and there are some major cracks in the foundation. All of this has to be repaired. I’m not even at the worst part yet.

Aleks’ grandfather lived next door. His house lifted up with the surge and floated. All of the lawn furniture and even the lawn mower have been crushed by the house. His electric wheelchair is gone. Everything in that house is gone. Everything. He is 83 years old and he lost everything.

The house is so bad that we can’t even enter it. The fire department checked it out during the storm and even the local police know about it.

His house is so badly damaged that it was condemned.

There was a boat in the front yard and a paddle boat in the back yard. The entire boat yard floated and is blocking one of the streets. Not to mention the two downed trees on that street. We can’t even get trucks down to our road.

Our neighbors have it very bad too. This is how things look all over our street.

The sad thing is, FEMA has been very slow with their response. They were quick with Irene. The Red Cross is apparently here but we haven’t seen them at all. Everytime we’ve seen the national guard… they’ve just been standing around! This is chaos.

The devastation is really bad and we don’t really know what to do. The insurance deductible because it was a Hurricane is $20,000 which is money we don’t have. We don’t know how much we will get from FEMA nor do we know of other ways to get some help for the costs.

Aleks grandfather’s house has to be torn down and we can’t afford that. The damage is far too extensive for us this time. Irene we recovered from ourselves. Hurricane Sandy… we cannot recover from.

Sadly, I have to ask for donations to help. This damage is too great and far too bad. Anything would help us. I’ve opened my paypal for direct donations as the way it looks we might not even see the Red Cross. At this point I don’t know how things will turn out. Things feel pretty hopeless right now.

Anything you can give would be a huge help. Anything that would be left over would go towards helping our neighbors recover too.

Please donate to us here.

Thank you all so much for the help.
