Just realized (warning, star wars nerdiness ahead)

So you know that scene from Star Wars Episode III, where Obi-Wan kills General Grievous with a below average blaster? It's hilarious in hindsight because, here's this guy who's suppose to of killed at least four Jedi, and he goes down to a simple drone blaster?

Then you think back to Episode IV, during Han Solo's minirant about how hokey religions and ancient weapons don't mean anything when you have a good blaster at your side. Besides the fact that this was a subpar blaster, holds pretty true, don'tcha think?

Sadly I don't think that was Lucas' intent though.

I guess Grievous was only good at sword fighting, not blocking fast-as-light projectiles. *shrug*

Didn't Grievous get shot on an armorless spot? Sorry if I'm wrong but it's been a while since I last watched Star Wars. =P

If I recall correctly, I think that the Animated Shorts gave Grevious better justice than the movie.

That was definitely intended, with Obi-Wan's line "So uncivilized" after killing Grievous being a call forward to his line about how a lightsaber is "Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age," which preceded Han's line.

It's also fridge brilliance that Grievous dies to a blaster, as he was trained by Dooku, who I don't think specialized in the form of combat specializing in deflecting blaster shots.

Guns, as a rule, are better then swords. If the baby-abducting Jedi didn't have the force to hide behind the battles would have gone very differently.

It was intended. I believe I heard George Lucas even comment on the intentional irony, since Obi-Wan had said to Luke...Wait a minute, I just looked up and realized that Ballom already said everything for me.
