TV>Video games (not)

So something I recently came across was that, from my admittedly small sampling of society, there are many who still believe all video gamers are helpless lame nerds, and are told to get a life. This is 2012, so they're a dying breed, but they're still out there and are frequently met. I'm in the American heartland though so maybe I just have a disproportional sampling.

Anyways, my point. Whenever I met these people, they seem content to tell gamers to get a life while spending hours watching reality television or obsessing over football rivalries themselves. Is it really sad for me to spend a decent amount of my time playing strategy games and League of Legends but not for them obsessing over... well, I hate to make jabs at reality television, because karma is a *****.

So, why can't everyone have their own obsessions, and we all can be cool with that? Except for the dangerous ones of course. I tend to discourage obsessions with pyrotechnics on the basis of that being slightly accident prone.

I would think that it is indeed the problem with where you live. Most people I come into contact with tend to play at least mainstream games.

This blog is written by Alex Humva, penname of some random teenager named Alex Censored.
