So that depressing moment...
Why I still bother with League, I have no idea.
Eh, you learn to get over the fact that the vast majority of the human population will, upon given anonymity, be the sickest most depraved creatures ever. Comes with the area.
Play games with friends. It really helps.
I totally agree with Kottsu, but when I solo queue, the last thing I play for is the community. I played three duo queue ranked games today and in all three the champion select was made absolutely terrible by one of the three other teammates. There's always someone who can't communicate, or refuses to.
On the plus side, 5 man premades make LoL the best game in the world.
Thing is five man premades are sooooo hard to do because it requires so many people online at the same time. Or maybe I just don't have enough friends.
My extended family, brothers, and a lot of my cousin's friends play LoL, so that's where I get my premades. I've also been trying to get my school friends to play it, but have only been partially successful. It doesn't help that I told them I thought it was terrible before I got hooked myself.
Have you played any ranked?
A tiny bit, haven't even gotten through the placement matches. Primarily because there's a ton of trolls and the expectations are really high there.
You should play more Minecraft instead of League, that way you can, if on the right server, do extremely amusing things to those who attempt to be the cretinous, foul creatures most of the internet mistakenly refers to as trolls.
..I guess that advice doesn't work while the server is down.

WARNING:
The following blog contains excessive rambling on the world and extremely poor paragraphing. If you are easily offended or turned off by these two things, leaving now would be a good idea.
This blog is written by Alex Humva, penname of some random teenager named Alex Censored. He writes stories, writes rants, writes screenplays, plays games, makes games, has a terrible work ethic, and is generally sarcastic. He believes in a Judao-Christian god, but most other people who do too give him a glare because of his weird beliefs, possibly because he's somehow bi at the same time. He's an utter equalist who feels that any discrimination amongst humans for things they were born with is wrong. He doesn't care about xenos though, let them all burn.
He's also an aspiring engineer who hopes to get a scholarship at his local big engineering college and one day help humanity. More likely he'll be a pencil pusher in a basement somewhere, but he's a bloody minded optimist.
Because of his peculiar personality and beliefs, he gets into fights often, though they usually end when he wakes up the next morning and doesn't feel motivated anymore.

Remember, video games are worth insulting people over...
.....If you are a sad sack of a human being that is worth little to nothing.
Sorry that happened to you.
