Time for another gun of the week! Here is the...

Name: Valmet M82
Type: Assault Rifle
Cartridge: 5.56x45mm NATO, 7.62x39mm
Action: Gas-operated, rotating bolt
Country of Origin: Finland
Brief history:
The M82 was an assault rifle first introduced in Finland in 1978. The rifle had 2,000 units made before production was ended in 1986. The majority of the units were semi-automatic versions in the 5.56 NATO caliber ODIN International ltd. in Alexandria, Virginia. The rifle was not given very much given to Finnish paratroopers, as nearly all the rifles were found to be problematic, as the weight was put more toward the back, and the rear sight of an uncased rifle would occasionally hit paratroopers in the lower face and the surrounding area. The urethane stock was also prone to chipping and breaking.
Quick notes: The rifle is a derivative of the Kalashnikov rifle pattern.
Enjoy!
