I started off as a normal member with no post and a normal level of proto just like everyone else. I’ve built many MOCs over the years, a few which have come close to winning contest and one that actually won, but mostly I just build for my own entertainment. I don’t make works of art or two foot high monsters, I make weapons or as referred to in the world of BIONICLE, tools.
I collect less and less sets as the years go by but my fandom has not dropped one level of proto. I once was the proud owner of the rare Za-VMKK and Ja-GPKK that I sold off to avid collectors trying to complete a set. I wouldn’t dare hold someone back from such a grand dream when it was beyond my capabilities to assemble my own collection. I do have one valuable piece of BIONICLE history still though. A Wal-Mart display case featuring Lewa, Tanma, Antroz, and Radiak “flying” in the sky of Karda Nui. This piece of my collection means the most to me because I used the wings from Antroz’s back to make my very first winning MOC.
That really isn’t a lot to have accomplished during three years of membership but it means a lot to me. I don’t build just to build, I build to create something for myself or for a contest. Maybe my building skills would be better if I spent more time building but I like doing it when I get the mood to. I’m sure every MOCist knows what mood I am talking about. It’s that time when you just sit down and the pieces seem to put themselves together.
A vast part of my membership lies within COT. I had one of the very first successful Banner and Avatar Shops in the off topic forum, but with success comes failure. I went through two RPGs before I finally settled on one. I actually have the two year anniversary of my most successful RPG the Last Stand coming up later this year but we’ll save that for another blog entry.
There are a few people I’d like to thank for being there over the last three years.
In no particular order,
Mal, for being my first ‘online’ friend, the spiffiest type of friend there is; who I now consider my brother from another mother, and for listening and helping me through some rough times.
Joe, for being Mal’s friend and relaying all my message.
Jose, for just being the pyrotastic cool dude he is, helping with TLS, and listening to everything I can’t tell Mal.
Black Six, for answering all of my IMs.
Omi, for getting me into competitive battling.
Kex, for being just as good as all the rest.
Blue Hau and Setsuna for buying my Rare Krana and letting me extend my set collection.
Tyran, for explaining everything Pokemon. The Pokemon Topic really misses you man.
McSpam, for filling in for Tyran.
TPtI, for keeping the RPG going and helping with all the problems.
Takuna, Takuna, Takuna…For being different from everyone else.
Tojn, for talking whatever it was we used to talk about.
CzaR, for becoming the apprentice blacksmith.
Cederak, for bringing Toa Sisen to life, no matter how old he is and finally giving me my element.
And lets not forget my paradox. I don’t know where I’d be without you.
I’m sorry if I missed anyone but I’ll be sure to get you next time.
