And there's just an instant Spark...
2. I put up a new short story: Opportunity for Ambition. It's a part of my "Heretic Stories" project and focuses on Tehutti's character, and how I want to represent him. I was originally prompted to do this by the FFFC a while back (the same one I used to enter stories focused on Ehrye and Nuhrii), but I didn't get it done in time, and now that it's actually finished it's too long anyway. Mavrah's also very important--he just kinda showed up and ended up taking the job...
3. While I don't have an intended limit on the number of Heretic Stories I'll produce, I want to have at least one for each Matoran. They're not perfect, but I have something for Ahkmou, Vhisola, Ehrye, Nuhrii, and now Tehutti...but I can't think of anything for Orkahm. All I'm getting is that he's a real boring guy, and I don't know how to write a story about that. I'll keep thinking, but if anyone has any ideas/suggestions, they'd be much appreciated.
A quick check of the topic will reveal that Bioni-Lords Book 3: Kako has not been updated in months now. I can also confirm that, in that time, I have done little to no writing for the story, and I feel like I should address this. As I’ve mentioned in a previous entry, I got to thinking more about Bioni-Lords and how I was handling, well…everything…and I became extremely frustrated with it. Frustration led to a lack of motivation, which was only worsened by a tighter schedule between school and work and a complete lack of motivation to do anything at all. I kept trying, kept failing, kept getting more frustrated as I thought about it, and, to be honest, I’m just not convinced Bioni-Lords is worth it. The most logical thing to do is put an end to it.
That being said…I’m sentimental.
My next thought was to declare an “indefinite hiatus”, which is basically the same thing. I typed up a farewell entry and began working on another entry detailing all the plans I had for the rest of Book 3, but as I did so…well, I got invested. I couldn’t quite bring myself to end Bioni-Lords, but I need to seriously improve it if it’s going to stay.
As I mentioned in the blog entry where I first went on about my frustrations, one of my worst ideas was to give tragic ends to several characters for completely stupid reasons. I do not want this to happen. I wondered if maybe working in some weird extra twist would be better, but it made things more confusing, and there were still massive underlying issues. So to karz with it. I already have The Retcon established, so I’ll just expand that to include a reason for why these characters aren’t present in Books 1 and 2. That should make it at least less confusing. Fixing these issues is more important than sticking with a canon I decided on when I was an uninformed preteen, you know?
Of course, I still want it to be sad, so there will still be some death. Don’t let your guard down yet, mwa-ha-ha…
I will get back to writing Bioni-Lords. I still have motivation/time concerns, but I’m going to deal with those best I can and get you the next chapter as soon as I can. (That being said, I don’t feel confident with giving a release date, ahaha…)
Time to get to work…
I definitely will train Fairy types in the future, not just so I can have an awesome counter for Dragons, but also because I want to try out several of them. Mega Gardevoir looks pretty cool, and Diantha did give me one in Y, so I have that on stand-by. I also kind of like Carbink and Klefki, so I've been debating trying them out. I keep flip-flopping on Sylveon, though...
Well, those are all the major Pokemon I've put effort into training thus far. The list will most certainly grow, as I have no intention of quitting my Pokemon journey...so, now I sit and wait for Z. Or...XX and XY...or whatever they're going to do next.
I actually really, really like the Ghost type. The weird thing is, I haven't really trained all that many Ghost Pokemon...still, the ones that I have trained have been among the best Pokemon on their respective teams. We've got a legendary, a Pokemon (previously) without a weakness, a chandelier with massive special attack, a golem that can tear Dragons apart with its bare fists, and a haunted sword and shield with several stats through the roof. I definitely want to train more Ghost types, and there is absolutely no way I can pick a favorite among all these awesome Pokemon.
Last but certainly not least, the newcomer: Fairy type. Coming up next!
My relationship with Ice is weird. I like the Ice type, but I don't really like a whole lot of Ice Pokemon enough to try them out. You may notice that of the three Pokemon listed above, two of them are given to you for free and the other is a mascot. That's how little I feel like going out of my way for Ice types. Still, I want to change that and train more Ice types. Avalugg looks pretty cool, and I want to give a chance to Abomasnow and even Vanilluxe. Maybe Cryogonal? I've also kind of wanted to train a Cloyster for a while. But that's something to be decided later. As for my current favorite...well, I think I would have to go with Aurorus. Refrigerate combined with Hyper Beam makes for one heck of a Pokemon.
Ghost and Fairy are tied for rarest type, so I'll do Ghost next and save Fairy for last.
This is the greatest compliment my writing has ever been given like I am on the brink of tears from how meaningful this is and I don't know how to handle it
So I guess I'm doing something right?? I definitely wish to pursue this idea now.
-Garchomp ("Chomper", "Takea")
Dragon. The type everyone wants to use and no one wants to fight.
Getting close to the end. Ice is next.
I've had mixed experience with Steel. Sometimes, despite its many resistances, one of my Steel Pokemon just won't have a talent for lasting very long in battle. But other times they're just plain awesome. I like Steel as a type overall, and I definitely hope to use more of it--especially now that it has a type advantage over Fairy to add to its usefulness. Picking a favorite is rather difficult, but I am absolutely loving my Aegislash right now...
Next up is Dragon.
