IOS coding issue

Posted by Constructman: Black Knight on Feb 02 2013 - 07:41 PM

Something's wrong with the coding. For some reason, IOS interprets the square bracket ( [ ] ) as a greater than/less than sign (</>) which causes the issues.

That's a problem with iOS, so the BZPower staff can't do anything about it. I have Android, so I can't replicate it, but since it's an iOS problem, you'll have to go without BBCode when posting from your phone.

Well, it does get annoying when you're trying to quote posts...

What browser are you using? Maybe try Chrome or Dolphin. Also, are you running the latest iOS for your device?

Have you tried another browser? Also is your iOS up to date for your device?

It's happing to me(5.1.1, safari) when I'm trying to quote using the mobile skin it'll give me the Html instead of the BBcode, very annoying. No problems with the normal skin.

The latest version of iOS is 6.1. An attempt at upgrading might help...

My android (which the power button broke on recently) would do this every time I edited a post that was sufficiently old or quoted anything.

It's started to do it on my Android now too. It's not just interpreting the [ ] as < >, but it's converting BBCode to HTML.

We've just upgraded the forum software, let me know if this is still happening.

Will do when I get a chance to use a mobile device. My phone will not charge anymore, and is 100% dead. :|
