Pokemon
Hm, it's Friday. Can anyone guess what this entry may be? Anyone? Anyone at all?

Eh, you're all deadbeats! No, not really. Whuzzat? Oh, right, I have a Pokemon of the Week entry to post.

Anyway, today I focus on Girafarig.

Girafarig, while having an interesting typing, is a rather overlooked Pokemon. Not that it shouldn't be, as it is rather poor, but that means it has the potential to surprise many foes. It also has two *semi* helpful abilities, Inner Focus and Early Bird.

Girafarig @ Focus Sash
Timid Nature
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Psychic
~ Agility
~ Calm Mind
~ Baton Pass

Best off as a lead. Agility up as you get reduced to 1 HP, then Baton Pass out the next turn. Of course, don't use this against a ridiculously fast Pokemon or one with a priority move. If a slow, Special attacker comes in, feel free to Calm Mind up as much as possible before Passing out. Psychic is there for basic STAB. And if you want, you can use Psych Up instead of Calm Mind to steal another Pokemon's thunder.

Girafarig @ Choice Specs / Choice Scarf
Timid/Modest Nature
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Psychic
~ Shadow Ball
~ Hidden Power (Fighting)
~ Energy Ball

Make sure to use the nature that boosts the stat the item isn't boosting. Psychic is for STAB, Shadow Ball and HP for type coverage. HP also covers those Dark Pokemon who would otherwise kill you, such as TTar or Cacturne. Energy Ball is mostly filler, and can be replaced with Thunderbolt if you wish. Speaking of Wish, you should use that move along with this set to extend Girafarig's lifetime.

Ballom's Rating: 2/5. Low stats and a bad movepool don't mix well.

And Don't Forget my Blog Contest! This is the Last Day!

Interesting. A giraffe. Both natures are actually useful against common BorderLine starters. Ambipom and Crobat. Early Bird helps with Crobat, and Inner Focus helps with Ambipom. Hmm....

I'd have to agree with the rating. For once.... tongue.gif

And that Crobat could also have Nasty Plot, allowing Girafarig to steal it via Psych Up. Or, Crobat could flee fearing Psychic, allowing Girafarig a free Agility.

Exactly. I've seen more physical Crobat, I'm not sure why, but I'm sure there are some special ones.

With the Agility boost, I'm pretty sure it could outspeed an Ambipom. That gives it time to Baton Pass before a U-Turn or Payback.

Special Crobat is just as popular. And I didn't know Ambipom was given Payback. Negative priority moves are never good on fast Pokemon.

I'm sure they are, I just don't see them much.

It doesn't effect it. Payback has 15 points more base damage than Shadow Claw with Technician.

Are you actually suggesting Wish on a Choice set?

Most Crobat carry Taunt and U-Turn, both of which stop Girafarig.

I'd guess that it's because Crobat has a mediocre Sp. Atk that requires Nasty Plot to be even remotely useable, and in running NP it loses out on Hypnosis.

Payback isn't negative priority.

Oh, that's right. Never mind. I'm thinking of Avalanche and Revenge. Payback doesn't actually have negative priority, for some reason.

And McSpam, I mean having another Pokemon use Wish for Girafarig, not Girafarig having Wish.

If I May Quote Myself

In blog entry "An Analogy -- Life is like a Rubik's Cube: sometimes you need to screw everything up to get it all right."
Or everyone. Posted Image

In response to Seran's WIP image of his Boxor MOC
Although this may be a completely wild guess, I do believe that is a picture.

In blog entry "Dlakii"
Oh my. I didn't know that they made metal sporks.

In "Is there ever a time when you can't post?"
No, since I can always to to GD and post a couple hundred times. XD

In response to "I've forgotten how to blog"
Click "Add entry". Then enter a moronic title. Then click on the text section, mash your keyboard with your fists for as long as you wish, and post it. Congratulations, you now can blog better than the majority of BZP.

In response to "How often do you accidentally post in the wrong topic?
Never. I have these magical devices called eyes and this thing called a brain which prevent that. They're quite handy.

In "The weakest element"
Xenon, or perhaps Radon and Argon. Really, a Toa of Noble Gas can't control much at all, due to how few things they bond with. Xenon hexafluoride is all that immediately comes to mind, in fact.

In "Hardest thing to MOC"
Fluffy pink tutus. Mainly because of the slight handicap of pink Bionicle pieces not existing.

In "Talking to staff members"
Talking to staff members? Well, I'm generally okay with it as long as I have my pepper spray nearby.

In "Mask powers"
Hurr durr.

In "What did you do during the downtime"
I sat in a shadowy corner in a fetal position for five days, rocking back and forth in a crazed manner.

In "How do you imagine yourself on BZP?"
I am a Nidoking, obviously. How these stubby little claws are capable of typing on a keyboard I'll never know. :P

In blog entry "Bascula"
Hooray, I'm a geek.
