Couldn't the notepad be made more accesable because I find it rather annoying when you have to go to your profile settings couldn't it be put under the normal profile tab and at the bar on top?

It only takes three clicks to get to it from anywhere in the forums - that seems pretty accessible to me.
 
Though a link to it would look nice in that white space below the PM link ...

Personally I don't see much need for this; as Sumiki said, it would at best eliminate only a single click.

I rarely use this feature, so I'm biased towards the current configuration.
