I realized that they still sold the old lime-green ball joints on Pick-a-Brick, and so I ordered some. This was built one night while Brickeens was sleeping.

Also, I've noticed that older old-style ball joints seem to hold axles better than newer old-style ball joints. Half the time, I was MOCing, and the other half, I was retrieving the wings from the floor.

Funny, only the new, hollow ball joints hold axles for me. The old ones have all the grip of an arthritic whale.

Only the old ones that I got at last BrickFair seem to hold anything - all the other ones suck.

The fact that this was built while Brickeens was sleeping makes me think it has an AI whose programming is to buzz around Bricks and annoy him.
