Every so often, when I read through all the issues in a certain project in the Tracker, I have to manually mark that project as read, despite having every single issue read. Usually it's only one project, like for this (The community) project; it marked it as having something unread, despite absolutely nothing being unread in the actual project when I personally look.
I find that only happens with the community project. Maybe because of how that particular project is set up?
I don't believe it's only the Community project; I've seen it happen with the Front Page and maybe the Forum projects, too, unless my memory's going on me again. =/
/EDIT: It's happened twice to only the Community project recently, though; both times involving existing issues being posted in, seemingly. =/

The Community Project will be considered unread if any of the subprojects have unread issues.
That's the problem, though; all three projects are unread, at the time that it shows it still read. They're all grey too, which confirms it. =/
There might be some invisible issues you can't actually read.

That is indeed possible; although a little inconvenient. What's even odder is that there's nothing in the notifications that seems to indicate such a thing; unless it wouldn't show up there for some reason...
I get this too, except it has just recently happened to the Forums section in the Community section of the Tracker.

Also, on a related note, the "Next Unread Issue" button can sometimes point to issues that don't "exist", either, as if there were things that were unread that I can't see.
It comes back with: "Sorry, we couldn't find that! There are no unread issues in this project."

When I said there might be tracker issues you can't see I implied that they do exist.

Are they pending issues, or is there a type of 'staff only' permission set now, for topics? I'm curious now, but if you're unable to explain, I understand.
There are certain tickets that are only visible by the staff, yes. It is possible that that is contributing to the issue, but I think not. From my experience, if there is only an unread staff issue, the project will be indicated as read. This tells me that those statuses don't count towards overall project status.
Well, as of right at this moment, there are no unread issues in either the Front Page or the Community projects, however, it's still marking it as if there are things still unread.
Since there are staff-only tickets up, it's certainly possible that's the problem, but if it's supposed to mark the project as read even if it's just staff-only, then that doesn't make much sense...
