What if they made Homestuck a tv show?

Yes that title is correct, what if they made Homstuck a tv show? Thoughts, opinions, they total should have X voice Eridan, etc. So yeah I want to know what you think about that?

Also Equuis totally has pecs!! (Be the Sea dweller lowblood reference!)

Nah. Homestuck is made for the internet. It would just be weird to suddenly see it on television.

I mean, just think about all of the dialogue. What would they do with all of that? We'd get hours upon hours of people just sitting at their computers and talking.

That alone would probably get it cancelled. XD

On a more serious note, Homestuck cannot exist well anywhere it's constrained to a solely passive medium. TV is passive. Radio is passive. The internet, gaming, those are active media. Homestuck needs the participation of the reader to have the effect of Homestuck to it, hence the walkabouts.

Also, remember Cascade? Remember the Doc Scratch takeover? Remember Calliborn's tantrum with the crowbar that screwed with the whole site? How would any of that translate, at all?

I do not believe it could work, at least not while still being Homestuck, HS is a story made for the internet, and it is probably the first story that fully takes advantage of its medium.

Like Xaeraz said, the more meta aspects of HS can not really translate to any other medium. Say what you want about Homestuck, but is an unique story, with an unique format and unique workings. A tv show could never capture the qualities that make HS genre-breaking and medium-busting.

Also, it would most likely need the story to compromise with a single art style, which is a full reason to say no itself.

Oh. The one other thing about a Homestuck TV show would be that it would seem basically completely unmarketable.

Your main characters are thirteen year olds! Let's make it for children!

...Wait, everybody dies a horrible bloody death? And swears like a sailor? And there are very explicit references to NSFBZP things?

Who do you market that to?
