EDIT: Apostrophe scrambling is rare now, but you get the point.
The thing is, I've never actually been able to figure out the process that causes this to happen. Over half the time, it works like a charm - but sometimes, the editor decides to be mean. I think it might have something to do with turning BBCode on and off with the little light-switch button in the upper left-hand corner of the editor, but that doesn't always scramble the stuff into BBCode either.

It's generally happens when the board translates Rtf langauge to plain text. I even get it in email notifications from the board on long story chapters and such. (The emails have the ’ in place of quotes, and … in place of periods). Same conversion, same problem.
So, that resulted in me writing chapters from scratch in the posts themselves. I'll try ctrl+shift+v as mentioned above next time it happens to see if that works.
There is a special button on the editor to use when pasting in content from Microsoft Word that should be used.
In [the next release], users can change their editor preferences to paste in contents as plain text by default, which should resolve some of the issues you are describing if the users choose to use that feature.
Please let me know guys if the button he's talking about works for you.
