From Animorphs (if you haven't read this series, you should):

Marco: [to Ax] If my father comes, don't say anything but "yes" and "no".
[Exit Marco. Enter Marco's father.]
Marco's father: Hello, are you a friend of Marco's?
Ax: Yes.
Marco's father: What's your name?
Ax: No.

It's especially funny when in a later book Marco's father still refers to Ax as "No" (with the quotation marks).

By the way, those people in Pokemon games are insane. I'm just a total stranger who walks into their houses, and when I sneak up behind them they turn around and instantly tell me about how I want to weaken a Pokemon before trying to capture it with a Pokeball. Do these people seriously have any lives at all!? Even more important, do they even have a self-preservation instinct? I could be an ax-murderer, and yet all they care to tell me is stuff that presumably everyone in-universe already knows.

(The life of a Pokemon NPC must be a terrible one. Even the trainers do nothing but stand around in one solitary patch of wilderness, waiting for the day that a trainer who follows no set path may wander by. And then they'll lose. Painfully. In the more recent games, a lucky few may be granted permission to make a trip to the Pokemon center, but then they must instantly return to their patch of land to await the day the trainer finds the time in their busy schedule to trounce them once more.)
