And maybe Sorapak could steal a mask of healing?

IC: Dehkaz
The Toa of Magnetism, having seen that they had somehow gotten into the village, instead decided to point the cannons at the pirate's ship. If he got any noticed that they were trying to escape... Well, they wouldn't be doing it in that boat. With the only other ship at the docks the Ga-Koro Marine ship, Dehkaz doubted that they would be ably to get another one in time.

Unfortunately for Sorapak, huts have windows. And one of said windows was right behind him.
Krayn lurked just out of view under the window sill, hearing every word that was said. Theoretically, he could drop the pirate with his crossbow and be done with it. Bit of paperwork to file, slight lecture, and that'd be that. But how Hari had reacted when he'd dropped the pirate with his bow... No. Something less lethal.
He concentrated, poking his eyes up above the sill long enough to get an idea of where everything and everyone was. This little trick of his required a great deal of concentration, especially if he wanted to avoid harming the hostage.
With a thought, he unleashed a sound on the level of a sonic boom in Sorapak's ears, carefully to prevent any sound from leaking to the hostage or anyone else in the room. A noise that level, directly against both ears... He wouldn't be able to stay conscious. And if by some miracle he did, he'd be too disoriented to resist arrest.

"Um, thanks ma'am," Rynekk managed to say, returning the hug, "I'd appreciate that."
Then, stepping out of the hug, he flashed a joking smile, "But in the mean time, I think we've got some pirates to catch."

Hari nodded as she made her way with Rynekk towards the village. Even if the group had already put the pirates in cuffs she needed to be there. She might have wasted time with Rynekk but given how fragile he seemed to be, it was really only a few seconds of her time. It had took her about a good minute to find them and she sighed, mostly because of course it had to lead to this. They were wanted pirates though. Naona probably wanted to wrap this up as soon as possible and back on the Fowadi, so they could continue their mission.

"I want you and your companions to surrender quietly to the law."
OOC: Shooting would be meaningless. Sorapak cannot escape from the large crowd of guards without godmodding.
Also, somebody go grab Jianzha.

I was still sitting under the statue. Finally, I decided to forget it. Standing up, I began walking in the direction of Onu-Koro.

"You know, I remember you from that group of pirates the guards are currently apprehending, seeing as you were right there with them," Kun said with a grin, his dual-bladed Naginata thrust out to block Jianzha's path.
"I don't think they want you to leave, sorry."

IC: Sorapak, thankfully, had his Mask of Fate still active, and ended up slightly moving to the side in his odd gesture. He heard a bit of it, but the main focus of the sound pulse was right next to him. Being that condensed and carefully aimed, it wouldn't spread enough to hurt him much. "Aargh."
Instead, it alerted him to Krayn's presence. He had to wait for the opportune moment. "I wouldn't do that mate. Jerky movements could be dangerous." He twitched the sword at the Matoran's neck. "No sudden movements."
"So, that's what you want most, is it? Well, why is it you want that? You people came to me, when I showed up just to get a doctor and leave. This is a rather poor, shoddy place anyway; what would I steal? So, res ipsa loquitur, tabula in naufragio, this is pointless, before I commit a real crime here." He gave a strange smile. No devious look in it, yet no happiness. It was an empty gesture, somewhere between polite and reassuring in appearance.

"Except you are wanted by Ga-Koro, and we must help our compatriots," replied Naona. "But I suppose we can come to an agreement. Release the Matoran, and we will give you medical assistance. From there, we shall work out what do with you. I swear that I shall not arrest you in the meantime."

He looked down to find that the former hostage had kicked him in the shin. "Oh." He walked over to the bed, then took Bahokosar out from underneath it. "Oh, and, uh, we'll be needing help for him too. Mostly him, actually."

Using my jian as a crutch, I slowly nodded. I started to walk back but then I tripped.

With a burst of Kakama-induced speed, Rynekk caught Jianzha in his arms, lifting her up into the air.
"Think it might be best if I carry you to the hospital, no?"

The group soon reached the doors of the hospital.
"Please do not try to escape from the hospital in your time there," said Naona. "We may be able to come to an agreement about your status as a criminal."

"You can have your alcoholic drinks later," replied Naona. "But firstly, there is the problem of you being wanted by Ga-Koro and the permanent mark of your crew being pirates present on your body. That means that it would be rather difficult for you to do anything other than be a pirate, does it not?"

He took a deep breath. "Now then. Why does this mark matter to you of all people?
#10745

"Because it means that you're pretty much a criminal for life. Obviously, we cannot let you go ... however ... we may be able to come to an agreement."

"So, you see, the whole idea of being a criminal for life is rather pointless." He waved his hands dramatically as he spoke.
OOC: There's actually a valid point hidden in that huge block of nonsensical text. XD

"Do you really think you could get away with stealing a ship, assault and evading arrest without such punishment? And please shut up about the rum. You're playing too much into stereotypes."
#10753
Posted Nov 12 2012 - 04:27 AM
"I have no idea what you are talking about," replied Naona. "Do all pirates really have to have an intense fondness for rum? But anyway, I suppose you'll be ... let's say, menial labour, for Ga-Koro."

Rynekk smiled grimly, but didn't verbally respond to Jianzha. Instead I turned to face Naona, holding up the wounded Vortixx.
"Ma'am, permission to get her some medical attention?"

Just on the boundary of one's peripheral vision, Krayn lurked.
The De-Toa pulled his hat down low over his face, and stayed near the edges of the room, trying to be unseen. His eyes were fixed on the door, watching for Hari, hoping she wouldn't cross the threshold. He didn't want to face her, have to explain why he did what he did. His hands were stuffed in his pockets, as if by hiding any visible parts of him, he would remain unnoticed. As if he could become an anonymous figure.
But of course, he knew Hari would arrive soon.

Well it turned out all Hari really could have done was help escort Rynekk with the other pirate. Most of her time was spent walking back and forth, she had wasted valuable time getting into a debate of ethics and apparently making Rynekk feel bad. With all that Krayn had told her she knew his reasons for shooting and honestly she expected it of him. She didn't want to expect it of Krayn though, he said stuff much earlier about being by the books and he just started ignoring that. Then again there wasn't a lot of procedure or rules that could help any Guardsmen through everything that had happened.
Eventually the light green and yellow Toa with brownish armor finally walked into the hospital and to the room in which Krayn was standing. She leaned against the wall adjacent to him, still within his line of sight. What was there to say, Krayn and Naona's way got stuff done, but as far as she heard also led to a hostage situation. A situation that would have could have possibly been averted if Krayn hadn't shoot first and asked questions later. In the mind of these pirates, they had been back into a corner before they could even explain themselves. They were fired on first.
The problem was, was that Krayn and Naona's way still had gotten the pirates. It didn't mean they were right, at least about how thing should have handled. Hari let out a frustrated sigh, mainly because she didn't know what to say. She wanted to scold Krayn, to chew out her commanding officer for agreeing to such tactics. Despite the fact that she hated any of coughing nails, she could use one right now. Maybe it would help clear her head.

Krayn watched Hari enter, and could deal by the expression on her face where her thoughts were headed. The De-Toa shrank back against his wall, hoping to be as invisible as possible. Of course, his logical mind knew that was a futile effort. He's already been seen. Maybe....

Naona nodded. "Krayn, you can go have your morality talk with Hari. Try to keep the cynicism down. Rynekk, yes, yes you can."

"It's up to Ga-Koro to decide," replied Naona, before turning to the reoccurring NPC guard that randomly appeared whenever there was menial labour to do, and was fondly referred to as Doughnut Guy. "Send a message to the Ga-Koro Guard."
