I feel like that's how a lot of them think. Calling everyone on your side a fool is just stupid. He may have a good record, but everyone else just destroyed the most powerful Lawful Good group on the island. He should think more of his own group.

Echelon has got to be my favorite character in the whole RPG after this. Though Xylak comes as a close second. Those two, right there, are the best type of villains.

I feel like that's how a lot of them think. Calling everyone on your side a fool is just stupid. He may have a good record, but everyone else just destroyed the most powerful Lawful Good group on the island. He should think more of his own group.

Really? I disagree. Many of them, certainly, are devoted to Makuta. And many of them have deeply personal motives.

But I don't think any of them link the two together as Echelon does. I think the fact that the minute he disappeared 'off on his own business' people started pointing fingers and shouting 'traitor!' confirms this.

I've always just chalked it up to people either wanting more power, or all the FoM have people issues.

Pae's issue, I know, is because he believes full and utter devotion is the only way to serve Makuta.

I only had three makuta worshipers in my whole rping history: Ira, Skaaraa, and Jianzha. Jianzha is more of a peaceful worshiper, Ira's only on the Makuta's side because it's better than having the whole island against you, and Skaaraa's motives weren't really fleshed out. I was planning to do some serious character development until *cough* Skrihen killed him *cough*

So yeah, I need to make more FoM.

I have 1, and only one evil character, and he's not affiliated with anyone. And I have no plans to introduce the Reaper to any side.

Oh, and Gravity, apart from Avalanche and Atrox getting into yet another argument, which ended with Garm punching them both, not much has happened.

Cue the Reaper after movement post.

That was Aurum, and I think we can expect that kind of thing from JL's characters.

I guess we agree to disagree? It's not that I don't think Echelon is a brilliant character, I just want to see a high-standing villain who proves his intelligence in a way other than calling everybody else stupid.

I'm tempted to get back in the game just to rally the ILF (which are not so much destroyed as it is roughed up, if I have gathered right) and show why it's bad to mess with a nest of mostly-Chaotic Neutral wasps.

But yeah, I can't be bothered. Deputies, do your job. Get the entire team marching to every darn village. You aren't encumbered by a village anymore, so there's no need to stay there. Do some patriotic speeches about how Makuta forces apparently can't do much on a moving target since they failed to destroy one that was sitting still... and then march gloriously into 2013 by sacking Mangaia with the largest force of players this game has ever seen.

Me, I'm off to write my exam. Tell me how it goes, or alternately how you fail to do anything of worth and just fizzle out into the "eh" mentality I eventually did.

Echelon's motives are certainly... unexpected. He never struck me as a particularly reverent villain; I always assumed his motives had more to do with personal gain than anything else.
