LEGO has released a new teaser poster for the upcoming Lord of the Rings sets. It features Aragorn, Ranger of the North, and what can only be Anduril, the sword that was broken. Are you as excited as me? Check it out right here!

I figure LEGO TLotR will become a success. The title on the poster makes me wonder if they will make one for every movie.

I'm surprised LEGO mustered up the courage to try the line out, because of the dark, violent nature of all three movies.

I've only been able to see the movies once, because my mom hates Gollum so much she won't let me watch them again until I move out which is too bad since they're so cool. The worst part is that I own them all. :P

As for the courage you mention to have put this line on ( well, "to be going to put on" ), I think it's the same for Indiana Jones, Superheroes and PotC. They simply don't show it, partially or totally. And, apart from this, you should remember that LotR isn't only fights, it's also a symbolical representation of moral values. So, maybe they are trying to represent the great friendship between the Nine Walkers, the ethernal fight between good and evil ( they haven't won me... ), the force of will of Frodo, the unexpected strength of the Little Folk, the valor of Boromir and so on.

Ex-cell-ent. These sets will be... precious... MTL

Agree. :lol-sign:

Whatever, I'm shivering for the waiting!

I am excited for the new sword mould for anduril. I wonder if LEGO will release a new poster soon? The Aragorn fig looks amazing.

This was discussed a bit in the thread concerning the line's announcement.

I'm of the opinion that Lord of the Rings is signficantly more violent and intense than previous licensed lines, and I believe Lego themselves once stated this when asked why they (then) weren't licensing it. I think the change since then can be attributed to a relaxation in values, and of course a realisation of the enormous financial potential of the franchise.
