I received an invitation today that I unfortunately will not be able to accept, but I thought I'd share the info with you all. On February 16th at 1 PM local time, LEGO CUUSOO and Mojang will be revealing the new set 21102 LEGO Minecraft Micro World at LEGO World Copenhagen in Denmark. I wish I could be there to see it, but we'll just have to wait for the coverage that comes out of the event. Less than a week until we find out!

Awesome news! Glad to hear that this project is taking off. Really looking forward to the mini figs and concepts.
Back from lurking. Message me if you remember me, are interested in voice acting, or are great at graphics (photoshop).

Seems like a rather odd set to release considering that everything in Minecraft is basically composed of single blocks in varying colours anyway. I mean, don't get me wrong it's a perfect candidate for adaptation into Lego but it sems that we'd benefit more than a bumper bucket of multi-coloured blocks than an actual set. Of course that may actually be what the set is so I guess I'll shut up for a week and wait to see! Having been bitten by the Minecraft bug only a few months back I CAN kind of see the attraction to it but having satisfied myself after a week of castle building I imagine I'd have the same experience with a set but it would lack the endless variety of a randomly generated and almost infinite computer world...

Best of luck to them, I can see this as a very easy to implement concept but poersonally I'm not so sure it'll be easy to actually make it work...

i just hope they'll come out with a creeper minifig, that would make my life.. Oooooh, they could make a set with a "creeper" function that completly blows the set up, that'd be amazing!

Looking forward to the set. Minecraft is a great game and a bit too perfect for LEGO. :P

Though I'm apathetic on Minecraft itself, I'm highly intrigued by the possibility of what the LEGO sets may look like. The process is speeding along much faster than I anticipated.

So, what are the chances we can raise enough money to buy Andrew a plane ticket to Denmark by next week? Oh well...

Regardless, I think the development of Minecraft Lego Bricks started when Minecraft was released. It's just such an obvious pairing (actually, PC Gamer even listed "Lego" as one of the influences for Minecraft). I'm eager to see what kind of sets come out.

That was faster than I thought. I thought it was going to be summer before we got to see pictures!

If you find a copy of the invitation scanned online, it seems the "blocks" are 2 stacked 1x1 flat bricks, with the top 1x1 smooth. At least any block with grass on it.

You know I'm only a short flight away from Denmark and I was planning to visit anyway. Maybe I could go a few months early :P

BAck to the kit again though, I can't help noticing that stacked 1x1 tiles will only be able to form structures on solid foundations. What about bridges and the like? My castles and towers always end up with lookout platforms on top of them but I don't see how we'd be able to do that with a kit. Certainly not in the same quick and simple way that the game allows. Dig dirt here, put it here will take a lot longer if we need to use connectors or base plates to make top heavy structures. My money is still on it not holding a candle to the game...

In all seriousness, it turns out I actually live 40 miles away from an airport that can get me to Copenhagen for £35. Not bad in anyones book... I know I'm a noob and all but seriously if the community would benefit greatly from having someone attend this thing I might actually be able to do...

EDIT by Hahli Husky: Please don't double-post. Just edit your last post. :)

Not a huge Minecraft fan, but this sounds cool. I have some friends who will be very interested in this.
