[Toa Xemnas of Crystal]

To celebrate BZPower's return, I have created a short story (a really short story) that parallels the Legend of Mata Nui... here it is:

In the time before time, there was the greaet Lego toyline called Bionicle.
From the legend that is Bionicle, there was created two fansites, named BionicleZone and Kanohi Power. Over time, members were drawn to those internet paradises, but they were seperate. In a great collaboration, the leaders and protectors of each site, the Staff, created the special paradise that is known today as BZPower. The members enjoyed a relative peace, and doing things such as talking, MOCing, and RPGing.
But the peace was not to last...
Over time, the site was plagued by the dark force called the Downtime, who caused BZPower to crash for weeks, even months, at a time. This went on for many years, and eventually the Staff realized that they must face the Downtime by doing something unheard of. The Staff decided to give BZPower the upgrade to end all upgrades! The Staff announced it, and the members scrambled to make last-minute posts before the site was turned offline...
Then, soon, it was offline...
The members were shut out of the forums, and only had the news to satisfy their hunger for Bionicle. The Staff worked at full speed to upgrade the site, but the Downtime had other plans in mind. It sent the plagues of errors, bugs, and glitches to slow down the Staff in their goal. The staff were indeed slowed, and this caused the upgrade to be long and dark... but, finally, after six months of nothing but news, the Staff made a breakthrough: they had created an archive for all the old postings and pictures. The members were overjoyed, but they still awaited for the return of the forums.
And finally, they did return.
On this day, October 13, 2011, the forums had finally returned. And all rejoiced...

So, what do you guys think?

It's a nice little vignette, to be sure, but I would recommend fleshing it out even a tiny bit. I mean I understand what you're going for here--a short little tribute to the return--but even so, it would be great if you could add in some detail. For example, perhaps the POV of the staff as they decide to shut it down, or the members as they wake to find them back. Just some suggestions to help you with future writing endeavors. Like I said, I understand that this isn't meant to be all-encompassing like my epic or like say munkeymunkey's epic, but some minutiae would be nice. I don't know if you usually write as your niche on the site, but I would certainly encourage you to continue!

In my timezone, it was up on the 13th, since I live on the west coast of the U.S. And it's good that it made you giggle, since laughter is the best medicine.
