I mean, I know I'm a veteran (duh) but I can't seem to get a win streak with any Contest RPGs, and usually my RPGs win on their own merits (which is good) instead of getting votes because everyone knows who I am, like Parugi or The Captain.

Wow, outside of Day Run, this is a pretty close race. second, third, and fourth are incredibly close together here... and Kirse isn't too far behind.

I can't wait to see how this turns out and what games will be moving on.

Yikes. This is relatively balanced, compared to the Red poll. That one's got the top 4 utterly crushing the rest. xD(Wouldn't you guess it, Techna's number two in that poll, with 29 votes. =P)

I think its a generational thing. Smeag and FT are mostly for the old school BZPRPG crowd and there aren't many of them left, whereas you and me are from the heady days when these contests would get at least two pages of entries

I miss the days of 60-vote victories. But you have a good point. I was reading through some of the early entries and wow, were they a lot more varied. Nowhere near as much finesse or formula back then.

Let me correct myself: Most famous active RPers. Smeag never does anymore, AFAIK, and runs the BZRPG and that's it, correct?

I think they way it works is that de jure, Smeag runs the BZPRPG and de jure FT is filling in for him until he gets active again. De jure and de facto, Nuju is not only filling in, he pretty much controls the whole RPG by himself.

I agree with ToD, of the seemingly ancient Rpers who still are active, you guys are pretty much the only ones.

Of course, I'm beginning to think of ToD, Dovy and suchlike people as vets now.

I think of TPtI and Lloyd as heavy weights just because the BZPRPG never interested me and as such, I don't come in contact with anyone with such experience besides them.

I sure wish I would have noticed this forum sooner, though. I missed out on a lot of good stuff.

If it makes you feel any better, I almost didn't start RPing when I did either. And I never would have gotten involved in the BZPRPG without the Academy/BZPRPG merger. That was a rough period before we found our feet.

Well, it was the winner of the first RPG Contest, won three is a row and was set to win four with a big end, andas I understand it, the BZPRPG was dying (again) so they figured "hey, let's inject some life into it!"

Really, I think we may need to re-examine how the BZPRPG works if it's constantly on life support like that.

Really, I think we may need to re-examine how the BZPRPG works if it's constantly on life support like that.

Its not so bad since the reboot, but I think back in those days the massive backlog of story was a bit off-putting. The rather elitist snobbery from older players didn't help either, turned me right off.

But enough nostalgia. Polls!

I'm not a vet, professional or otherwise. I can't think of any time in history that I've ever medically treated an animal, unless overfeeding my Siamese fighting fish counts.
