[Draezeth]

That's right, it's time to continue this series! This here is the review topic. The old Review Topic is here: http://www.bzpower.c...pic=318280&st=0. Please do read the story! The beginning is nothing special, but everyone says that my improvement is visible as the story goes along.

Quick summary: Reawakening is a 'crossover' epic. In other words, it ties in the human and BIONICLE worlds. But this isn't just any crossover. Toa don't suddenly warp to our world, or vice-versa. No, this time, a Great Spirit is on a crash-course for earth! But that isn't the story. The story is about a boy named Axle, who, thanks to the company his father works for, gets an artificial Matoran body, and lives among the Matoran along with his team of Matoran and Toa. Of course, the story doesn't end there! Read on to find what actually happens!

This story's major theme is Destiny, and the finding of one's place in the world.

Chapters 1- 15

Synopsis: A massive robot crashes into the earth, and almost instantly the whole world has set its sights on the island that formed on its face. Axle, a lazy high schooler that hates the normality of everyday life, receives a dream and soon discovers five others that have had the same dream. Together, along with their parents, they get themselves artificial Toa and Matoran bodies and visit the island. (Sounds corny? Don't worry, the dream isn't as mysterious as it seems, which gets revealed much later.)
The six Matoran inexplicably receive six Toa stones from the Turaga, saying that they are destined to leave their world behind and become heroes to revive the Great Spirit.
Things take a turn for the worse when Axle realizes that he is the one destined to die by putting on the Kanohi Ignika.

Chapters 1- 11

Synopsis: The six Matoran have become Toa now... or have they? Somehow, during the transformation process, their minds were split. One resided within their new Toa bodies, and the other resided in their original human bodies. After fighting off hordes of infected Rahi, they travel to Metru nui, where they find the city over run by Purple and Black entities that have all but destroyed the city. After flushing them out, they go south to find the Ignika and revive this Mata nui, while Povu, Toa of Stone, leaves to the southeast to create an island to house the PaB entities.
A romance story starts between Axle and Miera, even though both of them know that Axle is destined to die.
Once on the southern continent, the six (now seven) Toa are met by mysterious Toa that call themselves the "Dark Elements", and their conquered allies, the Makuta, who want the Great Spirit to die. After a crippling defeat, Axle just barely manages to make it to Karda nui, but can he summon the courage to leave Miera forever and put on the mask?

The main theme here is Duty. Thanks to [trope]Cerebus[/trope], we leave the idealistic-ness of the old books, and focus more on stopping the Dark Elements and the humans.

Axle is brought back to life by Miera's mask, which had never worked before that point. But what effect could this have on the Great Spirit? The group decide to split up into several smaller groups to accomplish several tasks. The romance between Axle and Miera (renamed Miriam) continues, stronger than ever.
Meanwhile, the humans receive special armor from Cyrus, and are sent back to the island to release the Bohrok swarms.
Chalix has quit the group, both in his human and Toa forms, what will happen to him?
Behind the heroes' backs, three ambitious humans are making shady plans. Are they for the benefit of mankind? Are they for world domination? Perhaps.

NOTES TO SELF:
Axle- blue and green suit of armor. It had an axe attachment, which flipped around to become a gun-looking thing, which, Cyrus explained, when shot, would produce a massive thorned bush where it struck. The force of the growing bush would be enough to crack armor. It also included a sort of grappling hook that had a changeable trajectory.

Nathan- bronze and gold set of armor that could coat itself with stone, and shatter it into projectile-like stone fragments. It also boosted his speed and strength.

Miriam- blue one, which was able to create a protective layer of water around it, and possessed healing abilities.

Shane- black mech, which Cyrus explained could cloak itself, and also sported twin chain glaives.

Haru- gold mech that posessed Telekinetic powers and fire-able hands that, when combined with the Telekinetic powers, could be used like grappling hooks. It also included several shuriken that were sensitive to the telekinetic powers of the mech.

Don't forget the Spectral Mask!

I'm still here, don't worry!

Looks like things are continuing at a steady pace, though I will admit things don't look too exciting at the moment. But I'm sure the Bohrok thing is going to be signifigiant very soon.

One thing that I'm wondering when you're going to pick back up on is the whole issue with Axle being revived from sacrificing himself. Are we going to learn more about that in due time?

I'll get back to the Toa once the human matters are dealt with. I wanted to focus on only one side of the story at a time, that way it's easier to keep up with.

As for the consequences of Axle's revival, I'm afraid it won't be quite as spectacular as most of you seem to expect it will be. I'll be sure to throw a curveball your way when I get to it, though.

Heya, good to see you! I've been reading some Lovecraft, and that's inspiring me to get to the part of the story where that becomes relevant, so expect a new chapter soon.

[Edit] The story is going to have to wait until I've got less on my plate, inspiration or not. The 12th year of high school in IB could be compared to being forced to listen to Tren Krom recite Hamlet's "To be or not to be" soliloquy. Or a walk through Karzahni, for the less creative.
