To Save the World!

StoryGood always triumphs over evil. It is one of those unwritten laws. And with the Golden Age of Heroism at it's peak, it doesn't seem likely to change. All over the World Super-powered humans are turning their abilities to upholding justice and freedom. But where there is good, there is evil. Wherever you get SuperHeroes you get SuperVillians. Most insidious of these is Doctor Danger. Recently escaped from Confinement, it is rumoured that he is building an army of SuperVillians, the Coalition of Corruption. In response to this threat, a legion of SuperHeroes, the League of Salvation, is coming together. From all over the world, Superbeings gather...the fight will not be easily won...Already they have foiled one of Doctor Danger's most audacious plans yet. Using the Omega radiation produced by all SuperHeroes and SuperVillians he intended to ignite the Earth's core and blow up the planet! The failure of this plan cost him his life...But with the Coalition all but collapsed, villainy did not cease. No-one expected it to. Canada has been taken over by a totalitarian regime, led by the mysterious Ms. Amandine, who is searching for something in the Northern tundra. No less than two psychic supervillians sprang up, on an old opponent of Mentor known as Darkmage, who was defeated in Australia by a band of heroes, and, more recently, the man known as Midnight, who is reforming the Coalition. But, possibly worst of all, unknown to all, the technopathic supervillian Manchine has brought the head of Doctor Danger back to life! What plan he and his two wards, the Russians Piotr and Illyana, have is unclear.Canada has been freed, and the artefact Ms. Amandine was searching for was revealed to be the prison of an extra-dimensional being known as the Cavalier, a self-serving individual who's meddling before helped Doctor Danger in his scheme. While the psychic Midnight continues his efforts to reform the Coalition, recruited and building bases, two distractions have come up, inadvertently aiding his cause. The hero Sluice is under the possession of a centuries old psychic from feudal Japan, who is using her to forward his goal of world domination. On the other side of the world, Fade and his allies have come up against his old team-mate Frigid, a hero-turned-villain, who plans to use a machine invented by Fade's father to boost her powers exponentially. With villains and hardships alike overcome, the world seemed peaceful and safe. the Coalition had withdrawn into the woodwork to lick its wounds and gather its strength. But alas! For a new threat arose. A threat from the stars in the form of a dread warlord Technax, head of a mechanical army. He wanted something from earth, and was not afraid to conquer the whole planet to get itIn this RPG you can join as a Hero or Villain. Will you join your respective team, or run the risk of fighting solo?blank space

Coalition Characters

Real Name: Otto CreelAlias: Doctor DangerAppearance: Currently he is just a head, wired up to a big blocky machine that keep him alive. He is totally bald, and while one green eye survived, the other is cyberneticPower: Enhanced Intelligence and Eidetic memoryAllegiance: Coalition of CorruptionArea: Eastern EuropeBio: Doctor Danger was one of the founding members of the Coalition, making him a veteran nemesis to superheroes and so extremely dangerous. However as he aged he grew tired of his schemes constantly being foiled, so risked it all on one last gamble; a plot to use the Omega radiation given off by super-powered beings when they use their power to ignite the world's core and blow up the planet. This backfired when the extra-dimensional creature known as Cavalier intervened for his own selfish reasons, and only the lab Creel had been working in exploded, practically killing him. Manchine rescued his head, complete with still-living brain, and hooked up to some contraption to make sure it kept living. While Doctor Danger is still weary of the world and just wants to be laid to rest, Manchine has other ideas...Real Name: Matthew WrightAlias: ManchineAppearance: Varies between different bodies, but is usually a hulking mess of armour, cybernetics and flesh, with all sorts of wires and blades sticking out.Power: Manchine is a cyborg, but with no actual powerAllegiance: Coalition of CorruptionArea: Originally from Silicon Valley, California, but is now of no fixed abode.Bio: A technician and scientist with a brilliant mind for electronics. He became very proud and egotistical due to the praise he received for his inventions. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer of the brain, and given only a few months to live at most. Furious, he turned to his work, forging himself a body and transferring his consciousness into it. It didn't take him long to realise that in this body he had the power to do anything he wanted. Has been keeping Doctor Danger alive, knowing that Creel is one of the few people who could properly lead the Coalition

OOC: Alright, so we're back. New forum layout's gonna take some getting used to; can't say I'm a big fan of the minimalist look, makes everything kinda seem blend together without anything to contrast with, but I'll deal. So, who else is still around after all this time? Reposting my old character sheets here: Real Name: Bryan SteeleAlias: FadeAppearance: Has brown hair and blue eyes. Wears black kevlar-based armor with retractable wristblades, grappling hook, and small supply of smoke bombs. Also wears a gray, hooded cloak made from experimental nanofibers, allowing him to turn it into a small glider. In addition to the hood, Fade wears a black cowl over his head to protect his identity.Power: Phasing. Can phase himself and objects he touches, but cannot touch objects while phased. His abilities range from passing through objects to becoming completely out of phase, but cannot do that for extended period without being weakened after doing so.Alliegance: Solo HeroArea: NYC, United StatesBio: Bryan's father was a researcher for a corporation called Logan Industries, developing new technology. However, while his family was touring the laboratory, a group of robbers attacked, trying to steal technology. The rest of his family was killed, and while attempting to escape, Bryan accidentally turned on one of the experiments. It activated his phasing powers, and allowed him to escape the robbers. When he was a teenager, he decided he needed to put a stop to crime.Using some of his father's experiments Logan no longer needed, Bryan took up the identity of Fade, and became part of a team of minor superheroes. During this time, he fell in love with a member of his team, a cyrokinetic named Frigid. After a few years on the team, Fade recieved an offer to join the League of Salvation. Unfortunately, before he did, he learned that Frigid was the daughter of a supervillain named Perception, who had trained her to try and take down the League. They fought, ending with the apparent death of Frigid.Crushed, Fade refused the League's offer. He had lost those close to him twice, and now he was afraid if he joined another group, he'd wind up getting attached to people, only to loose them all again. He moved to New York City and got a job working for Logan Industries, like his father. He uses this position to help his superhero career, turning abandoned projects into tools for fighting crime. Most of his time not spent crimefighting went into training, and Bryan soon became skilled in hand-to-hand combat. As a result of his past, Fade is very anti-social and frequently sarcastic around other people. He tries to avoid other superheroes, but will work with them when he needs to combat a foe. Real Name: Natalie NorrisAlias: HivemindAppearance: Orange-red hair, green eyes. Wears a yelllow and black supersuit and a pair of orange sunglasses. Prefers to dress more casually when not on a mission.Power: Capable of controlling insects, as well as transforming her body into a swarm of bugs. In addition, her body passively generates a field of low-level Omega radiation, almost undetectable by most instruments, which extends roughly an inch from her body and allows clothing and other objects on her person to transform with her.Alliegance: Coalition of CorruptionArea: Sicily, ItalyBio: Natalie was once a scientist working for pharmaceutical company known as the Solanum Corporation. She was assigned to a project testing the effects of Omega Radiation on insects. During one test a containment breach occurred, threatening to flood the area surrounding the facility with lethal quantities of radiation. Natalie volunteered to don a hazmat suit, enter the chamber, and attempt to manually shut down the reactor. Once inside, Natalie was able to deactivate the reactor, preventing a catastrophe. However, her hazmat suit was torn in the process, allowing radiation and insects to flow inside before the reactor was fully shut down. Natalie was rushed to the nearest hospital, but she was not expected to survive. To the surprise of everyone, a few hours later she woke up, with not even the slightest sign of radiation poisoning.Natalie was immediately placed under study by Solanum, and the reason soon became apparent. The Omega radiation had melded her with the irradiated swarm, allowing her to transform herself into a swarm of bugs. Natalie immediately went to her superiors, demanding to try and duplicate the results. Solanum was initially skeptical, but agreed when Natalie said they could learn how to manipulate the effects of Omega radiation, possibly to the point of creating artificial superpowers. The testings continued, but after months of nothing but dead test subjects, the Solanum Corporation cut her funding. Natalie desperately attempted to take her findings to other companies, but none were willing to touch a project with such a high body count. Just when she was close to giving up, Natalie was contacted by an organization unconcerned with a few lost lives in the pursuit of progress: the Coalition of Corruption. They made Natalie an offer: if she worked as an operative of the Coalition, they would provide her with the equipment needed to conduct her research. Natalie agreed, and took up the identity of Hivemind. As Hivemind, Natalie is concerned with only one thing: continuing her research. She accepts her time spent on missions as necessary to gather funds, but still sees it as a waste of time she could be spending working on her own projects. As such she is abrasive and dismissive of her fellow supervillains, making her dislike apparent because she knows the Coalition is too interested in her research to get rid of her. The current instability of the Coalition is something Hivemind sees as a blessing, as it gives her time away from missions to focus on her experiments. However, she still is invested enough in the Coalition that she would rather not see it completely fall apart, however; after all, without them who would pay for her lab? [For Science!]

No one in the world ever gets what they want,

and that is beautiful.

Everybody dies frustrated and sad,

and that is beautiful.

OOC: Like I would ever leave TSTW! :D Hopefully we can all get back into the swing of things quickly enough.Real Name: Sarah Jane WintersAlias: SluiceAppearance: A woman with long raven hair, pale skin, and cool blue eyes. Her voice is soft with a clear British accent. Her supersuit is varying shades of blue, with glassy yellow goggles.SluiceNew.pngPower: Can control water in all of its states (ice, steam, etc) but cannot create it. Sluice can manipulate other liquids if they are intermingled with water. Recently she has developed the ability to separate the component elements of water (hydrogen and oxygen) and control them to a limited extent. The goggles of her supersuit render her impervious to visual attacks, such as bright flashes, illusions or hypnosis. It also contains an inbuilt League communicator.Allegiance: League of SalvationArea: EnglandBio: For most of her life Sarah was a shy and distant girl with few friends, even whilst crimefighting as Sluice. However, several months ago she became a pawn in an ancient spirit’s plot to take over the world. The experience had a lasting effect on her psyche, causing her to develop two personalities - the first being a slightly more withdrawn version of her regular one, and the second sporting all of the traits she had repressed over the years - confidence, aggression and arrogance. This second personality calls itself ‘Abyss’ and does not understand that it and Sarah are the same being.Sluice’s civilian identity has recently been made public. She lives in a flat with her fellow League members Silver and Photon.Real Name: Viktor BorislavAlias: GadgeteerAppearance: Viktor is a tall man with shoulder-length black hair and a thick beard. He has thick eyebrows and is usually wearing a surly expression. His face looks crooked and misshapen - the result of its various bones being broken over the years. His arms are taut with muscle, with thick hair all the way down to the backs of his hands. His armour is made up of various plates for easy maneuverability. It is coloured gold and bronze, with a stylised cog symbol on the chest. It only adds slightly to his bulk and is of humanoid proportions.GadgeteerUrbanMode.pngPower: Viktor has no superpowers, but has had years of strict military training and possesses physical abilities far greater than the average human.

His 'Gadgeteer' armoured battle suit contains a nanoforge unit capable of generating shapeshifting nanorobots. These nanorobots can be used to alter the appearance and abilities of the armour, based on several preset modes, although the power expenditure of switching modes means that Viktor does not do it very often.Urban Mode - The default 'base' mode, upon which all others are built. Attached to the right wrist is a rotating metal ring sporting an extendible wrench, blowtorch and diamond-tipped drill. These tools can be concealed inside the wrist-ring or detached from it. From the palm of the right hand an adaptable connection port can be extended; this allows Gadgeteer to connect to almost any computer in order to upload/download data, or attempt to hack it. This port can also connect to most vehicles' ignition switches. The legs of the armour contain high-pressure pistons that allow Viktor to perform large jumps. The helmet visor contains a targeting, night-vision and thermal imaging HUD, Omega Radiation scanner, and a wireless communications capability. The armour will revert to this mode in the event of its nanoforge unit being disabled.

GadgeteerArtilleryMode.png

Artillery Mode - Bulk is added to the torso, providing vast upper-body strength. 'Morphing guns' can be extended from the shoulders and forearms; these are capable of mimicking the firing style of handguns, shotguns or machine guns. Nanorobots are converted into bullets; whilst this means that Viktor possesses infinite ammunition, occasionally there will be significant waiting periods whilst the nanoforge creates fresh batches of nanorobots. The wrist-ring and adaptable connection port are disabled in this mode.

GadgeteerDeepSeaMode_zpsf3cdc913.png

Deep Sea Mode - The armour is made fully watertight with increased density to resist underwater pressure. Air in the leg pistons is utilised as a limited oxygen supply (the leg pistons are therefore unusable in this mode) and small rotors extend from the wrists and ankles so as to provide easier maneuverability underwater. The weight of this mode makes movement on land very slow.

GadgeteerStealthMode.png

Stealth Mode - In this mode several layers of the armour are stripped away, making its movement near-silent and allowing the same range of speed & agility as an unarmoured person. The adaptable connection port is altered in function; losing the ability to take command of vehicles and gaining the ability to adapt to fit any lock, like a skeleton key. This mode also possesses a weak invisibility drive that can be activated for several minutes at a time - this does not provide full invisibility, but very strong translucency that leaves Gadgeteer looking as if he were made of glass. The thinness of the armour in this mode massively reduces its defensive capabilities, making it susceptible to damage and in general not well-suited to direct combat.

Allegiance: Solo Villain masquerading as a solo hero; see bioArea: Currently Viktor is limited to America. His town of birth is Stalingrad, Russia.Bio: Viktor Borislav is an individual who uniquely combines the roles of soldier and scientist. His early years were spent serving the USSR, both in a traditional military capacity and as a weapons developer. During the Cold War he was part of a team of engineers that designed a number of weapons specifically meant to combat the USA’s growing population of superbeings. After the collapse of the Soviet Union he felt betrayed and abandoned, and, stealing a prototype armoured battle suit, fled his home to wander the world in search of a new purpose. He began to tinker with the prototype suit, befitting it with new capabilities that allowed him to carry out large robberies with ease. He soon embarked on a life of supervillainy, taking whatever he wanted and fighting whoever he wanted as Dreadnought.Recently Viktor was ambushed by agents of the US government - though he managed to evade capture he lost the Dreadnought armour. He has hastily built himself a new armoured battle suit but it is nowhere near as capable as its predecessor. He is currently posing as a solo hero in order to evade the notice of the authorities until he can build an armoured battle suit that matches his lost Dreadnought armour.Viktor often seems emotionally detached and is often unnecessarily brutal. He is also a skilled tactician and engineer, though a leadership role frustrates him.

OOC: Never got to join in last time, so allow me to pester you all by running in now, if you would be so kind. :lookaround: Real Name: Arthur KentrehdAlias: Shadow HunterAppearance: Arthur is fairly tall, reaching just over six foot, with jet black, shoulder length hair, which has clearly been dyed as he is naturally red headed. He has dark green eyes, and a face which looks pale, but under closer inspection is just covered with make up to look more villainous. His attire consists of a knee length black leather trench-coat, which he treasures greatly, underneath which a plain black shirt and some fashionable jeans.Power: The ability to teleport to anywhere he can see. He can use photographs, but this is difficult and awkward as they have to perfectly resemble the location at the current time.Allegiance: Solo Villain.Area: Wherever he pleases, although he grew up in Britain.Bio (Useful information about your character's personality and history): Arthur wants nothing more than to be respected and feared. His general style of fighting is to be as sneaky as possible and to fight like a snake, teleporting behind his opponent with every chance he gets. Unfortunately for him, he can be easily outsmarted and is fairly predictable, which is something he vows to improve upon. He likes to see himself as a mighty supervillain but never really succeeds and comes across as clumsy and incompetent. Despite that he is determined and hard-working, with several useful contacts, and occasionally even acts allows himself a few good-hearted actions, which he immediately regrets afterwards realising they damage his reputation. With a slight inferiority complex, Arthur decided to stay out of the events of Doctor Danger's first plan, but recently gathered the courage to go outside and make a name for himself, whilst trying to act as villan-y as he can.

Woot! It returns! *kicks his characters' rusty butts into gear... hurts his foot because one is made of diamond and the other gets tougher with every super in the room* Real Name: Miguel “Mike” da CostaAlias: OmegaAppearance: When human, Miguel is a tall, handsome Brazilian man in his early twenties with dark, medium-length hair. He wears a red short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. Miguel is careful about his appearance, making sure to eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly. When exposed to Omega energy, he is able to take on a superhuman "Omega" form that is entirely non-reflective black, save for his eyes, which are pure white. His Omega form has a “corona” effect that appears as a flame-like yellow aura with black globes of various sizes. He is taller and more muscular in this form, helping to disguise his true self.Power: Omega is able to gain power from the omega radiation given off by most super-heroes and villains, in much the same way a solar collector gathers energy. He is able to use this in a variety of ways, the full extent of which has never been discovered. It is known that he can use it to assume his “Omega form,” fly, project energy bolts (both concussive and lethal), gain superhuman strength and endurance and create constructs of Omega energy, though these last only as long as he concentrates on them. He is by no means invulnerable in this form, but he is far tougher, and more so with more heroes/villains to gain energy from.Omega can also temporarily drain the Omega energy of another super-powered being, dampening their powers and providing him with a temporary source. This is a finite, yet very large amount, and can last indefinitely if he conserves it. After approximately twenty-four hours the victim regains the full use of their abilities, but until then they are noticeably weakened. In order to drain a being, Omega requires extended contact and full concentration, though a tough but breakable shield surrounds him when he begins absorbing.Allegiance: League of SalvationArea: NYC, USABio: Miguel has no idea how or when he received his powers. He only knows that a villain once tried to destroy Queens, where his parents had moved when he was young, but his own powers activated on exposure to the villain’s, allowing him to blast the attacker and save the day. He was able to keep his identity secret through all this, and all most people saw was an adult Omega form (though he was only twelve at the time) flying into the sky and catching the villain by surprise.Over the next few years Miguel experimented in secret with his powers whenever a hero or villain was close enough. Whenever one of the latter threatened his home, the enigmatic Omega always seemed to show up out of nowhere and save the day. This eventually got him invited into the League, where he is a proud member. At HQ there are always enough heroes for Mike to conceal his identity, so no one but he knows. Currently he balances college work (majoring in engineering) with a part-time job in an auto shop, along with his superheroic career. Real Name: Aiden DyreAlias: ShardAppearance: Though he originally used only his ‘crystal form’ (see below) as a hero outfit, complaints about the noise he made whenever he moved soon prompted Aiden to take up a specially-tailored suit that opens and closes when he projects crystals, though a thin ‘second skin’ of two-millimeter-thick, compressed diamond covers vital areas as well. When ‘powered down’ Aiden has cropped, brown hair, generally unkempt, piercing, blue eyes, a fair complexion and a tall, gangly build.Power: Crystal control. Shard is capable of creating and controlling any crystalline substance (from diamonds to salt, and even ice crystals to an extent). He commonly uses this to project crystal spikes or other crystalline weapons/tools; create crystal paths across gaps or otherwise uncrossable surfaces; and project crystal ‘seeds’ into the ground to manipulate them further into larger constructs. While still connected to his body the crystal can last indefinitely, but when detached it crumbles and vanishes in a matter of hours. The size of these constructs is theoretically indefinite, but in practice they can only reach up to a certain mass before his concentration begins to falter. Shard can telekinetically control crystal matter, including his own crystal form for a limited degree of flight. Strangely, while crystal he generates spontaneously vanishes eventually, he can grow and shape any existing crystal matter and, if done through direct physical contact, it will remain that size and shape indefinitely, though it will fade as normal if done from a distance. He can also transmute his own body into a living ‘chemical cousin’ of diamond that retains a jagged, crystalline version of his own form, though he can modify it to an unknown degree. This crystal form grants him incredible strength and durability, but makes him slower than normal and very heavy. Finally he can compress and transmute earth, stone and unworked ore into a permanent crystal through physical contact, though the compression means that the size of it decreases noticeably, thus making this useful mostly for showing off or selling something. The energy used to create spontaneously his crystal constructs is drawn from the earth itself. Shard naturally, without even being aware of it (he’s never considered the matter) absorbs geothermic energy from the earth as far down as a mile below his feet. The process is very efficient, so he has yet to go without energy, largely because it continues even when he isn’t using his powers. In theory, if he were isolated from the earth (perhaps by imprisonment in an aerial environment) he would run out, but this has yet to occur.Allegiance: League of SalvationArea: New York CityBio: Once a part-time ‘freelance investigative journalist’ (meaning he snooped around for the occasional scoop and sold it to the papers) and part-time assistant in his family’s jewelry store, a vacation in Africa lead to stumbling upon and subsequently investigating an abandoned, illegal diamond mine a few miles from the Congo. But just as he was getting some photographic evidence, Aiden discovered a meteorite that had landed there several hundred years back and buried itself in the earth. The stone was saturated with enough Omega radiation to give cancer cancer, The moment he touched it a severe, full-body spasm of pain sent him to his knees. The freelancer instinctively tried to keep himself up by grabbing a nearby protruding diamond, and at that moment his molecules, unstable from the meteorite’s radiation, began copying the crystalline structure and imprinting it forever in his mind. The pain soon subsided, and he left to get a medical check-up, though this revealed no signs of physical damage. Brushing it off as a random, isolated incident, Aiden resumed his life as normal… at least for a time. But an attempted mugging revealed his powers when an inch-thick, diamond shield appeared on his chest barely an instant before the mugger pulled the trigger on his gun, deflecting the bullet at the last possible moment. It took several years to learn to fully control his strange new powers, but Aiden eventually got the hang of it. Eventually. However, this didn’t immediately lead to a life of crime-fighting; at first he hid them in fear of being shunned, then he began using them frivolously for reasons of personal enjoyment, and later profit when he took over the family business after his parents moved out of the city for health reasons, though he always kept these exploits secret. Naturally this state of affairs couldn’t last. One day a trio of robbers decided the jewelry store made for easy pickings, despite the heavy superhuman presence in New York City, and tried to rob Aiden’s business. He dealt with them quickly enough, but not before a passing Lionheart noticed the thug flying out the open doorway with a broken jaw and two more being smacked down by a man apparently made of diamond. Initially Aiden (who thought up the name Shard on the spot) declined the invitation to join the League and risk his life on, at the very least, a weekly basis for people he didn’t know, but a somewhat ridiculous series of events later he more or less stumbled into helping Lionheart uproot a Coalition base that had been planning to poison the food at an embassy dinner and probably shatter the already-unstable US relations with the middle-east. This taste of the hero’s life left its mark on Aiden, who after some deliberation took up the mantle permanently. *H-D|

OOC: TSTW! is back up! My life is whole once again! I believe that there is only one way to properly express my happiness: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:Now I know that in the first post it says that you can only have two characters, but I had a third one granted to me in the old RPG, so I'm reposting his profile as well. If I can't have all three, then I'll simply make Aquarius an NPC again...Real Name: Mike O'ConnellAlias: LoadstoneAppearance: Spiky blond hair, bright blue eyes, 5' 11" tall, usually wears a T-shirt and jeans. Super-suit is metallic silver, with purple gloves and boots with yellow lightning bolts on them. Has an insignia on chest of a horseshoe magnet with a lightning bolt between the tips. Wears sunglasses designed to shield from light-based attacks due to his sensitive sight. Carries a metallic surfboard called a "Magnaboard" which he uses to fly.Power: Electromagnetic powers, and has slightly enhanced sight and hearing. Basically -Ferrokinetics (magnetism): Basically like Magneto - force fields, flying, control metal, etc.Electrokinetics: The cells of his body are capable of creating and launching electric charges and absorbing them as well, and can manipulate electricity.Allegiance: League of SalvationArea: NYC, New YorkBio: A cocky superhero in his early twenties, Mike is a robotic genius, and was hired at the age of sixteen for a robotics company because of it. He first discovered his powers when he was eighteen by creating a ball of magnetised paper clips in frustration after being given a large design project from his boss. He and his brother, Aquarius, a promising genetic scientist who also began exhibiting powers, began a team of superheroes with acquaintances from each of their professions - Mechanic and Spectral. After two years worth of superhero work, Aquarius broke off and pursued villainy, eventually joining the Coalition. Spectral moved to France, and Loadstone and Mechanic joined the League of Salvation. While helping fellow heroes Fade and Omega try to stop the villain Thrasher from stealing a regenerative formula from a pharmaceutical company, Loadstone was exposed to numerous chemicals, the combination of which slightly changed the makeup of his cells, and by extension, his Omega Radiation signiture. By altering his cells, it allowed electricity to pass through him harmlessly, and by changing his Radiation signiture he became sensitive to electricity as well as magnetism.Real Name: Jason O'ConnellAlias: AquariusAppearance: Spiky blond hair, dark brown eyes, 5' 11" tall. Super-suit is navy blue, with a blue cape as an accent. Has an insignia on its chest of a snowflake, half of which appears melted. Wears bright green goggles.Power: AquakinesisAllegiance: Coalition of CorruptionArea: New York CityBio: The older twin brother of Loadstone, Aquarius is a skilled geneticist and former doctor. Unlike his brother, Aquarius was never much of a heroic figure, gathering most of his information from informants on the black market. He became increasingly darker and more evil, until finally he broke away from his team and pursued villainy. Within months he was found and recruited by Animator, a member of the Coalition of Corruption. With the Coaition's funding and a newly found lack of moral guidelines, Aquarius began experimenting with genetics, and soon became one of the Coalition's leading scientific minds. His creations were so impressive, Doctor Danger had one of his genetic hybrids, the Lupine, standardized as the Coalition's henchmen. When Midnight took over the Coalition, Aquarius was named his second-in-command, for reasons as of yet unknown. After Midnight's demise, however, Aquarius has resumed his role as a Coalition geneticist, letting other members squabble for power.

Character replaced.Real Name: Jonas BradleyAlias: SoundlessAppearance: A tall, athletic man with unkempt black hair and blue eyes. Wears a sleeveless brown vest over a thin white shirt, and loose black pants with black boots. Wears a blue bandana over his nose and mouth to conceal his identity. Has two scimitar sheathed on his back.Power: Emits a field around himself, roughly ten feet in any direction, that suppresses all sound.Allegiance: Solo VillainArea: Chicago, IllinoisBio: Soundless is an ex-Hero and former member of the League of Salvation. Though he excelled in tracking down criminals, his homocidal tendencies kept him at odds with his fellow League members, and he eventually quit the organization after becoming disillusioned with their rigorous moral code.He pursued a shot-lived career as an antihero, though after assassinating nearly a dozen Villains the line between Hero and Villain began to blur for him. The League sent agents out to find him and try to suppress his killing spree, but Soundless made choices he would regret for the rest of his life and, after killing a League member who otherwise would have arrested him, he fled Chicago, never to return. In the time since leaving the Chicago, Soundless hired himself out to various crime lords for a living, specializing in assassinations and covert operations. Several years of this have honed his skills, and he is now an experienced assassin.Soundless is in possession of two matching scimitar, curved blades that he often puts more value in than human life. He is extremely attached to the swords, and his skill with them is exceptional.~Lord Rahl~

OOC: To save everyone asking the same question, TPTI confirmed to me via PM that those of us who had two characters can now have three. (The rewards were for an extra character on top of the default amount, so now that the default amount has gone up...) So, yay! Transairion is around as well, so the finale to the Technax Invasion plot will continue shortly. With this in mind, I'll kick off what will hopefully be another 200 pages of superhero-y goodness... IC: Separated from the rest of the heroes, Sluice and Silver were standing upon a steadily-moving metal lift. Their new mission was to locate and disable the Extinction Cannon, the weapon that was rapidly powering up to destroy Earth. The importance of that task weighed heavily in the air between them. There was also something else on Sluice’s mind - something Isis had said to her in secret, several days ago. The warning that a moment would come when it would be entirely in her hands whether Silver lived or died… try as she might, she couldn’t direct her thoughts away from that disturbing prophecy. As the lift travelled upwards Sluice tried to keep her mind occupied by examining herself. She was aching so much it was hard to tell each of her injuries apart. It was as if a small fire had started inside her chest - a cracked rib or two, probably. Blood, some of it fresh and some of it dried, speckled her black costume. Gashes in the spandex revealed cuts and bruises, her normally pale pink skin stained ugly shades of purple and red. On top of all this there was a dull headache. Sluice inhaled deeply, the metallic taste of blood meeting her taste buds. “Silver, before we carry on, there’s something I need you to do,” she said carefully, steeling herself up. “I… I’m not in the best of conditions, right now. M-mentally, I mean. It - I think my, um, alternate personality, ‘Abyss’… my switching back and forth from it is, well, it’s distracting to say the least. A-and I want to help you, because we need to do this, stop the cannon, to save the world, but… I-I’m afraid I won’t be able to…” She drew another, shuddering breath. “I want to be in my right mind, and I’m willing to accept risks to be that way. I need Abyss to be out of the way, guaranteed that it… she… won’t surface…” “What are you saying?” Asked Silver warily. “I want you to use your psychic powers to go into my mind, a-and… suppress it. I want you to prevent Abyss from surfacing again, even if it’s only temporary-” Silver immediately shook his head. “No. No. I can’t do that to you, Sarah. You’ve had your mind messed about by psychics enough times… I don’t want to do that to you…” “Please!” Sluice urged, tugging on the sleeve of his cloak. “My head’s all over the place right now, and Abyss… I-I don’t know if she has the best intentions, or… I’m scared. Just, please, do this for me.” “But it might be because of other psychics that your mind’s this way… I mean there was Midnight, then Darkmage, then Ikusen Sakeme… I… what if I made a mistake? I-I don’t want to be the one that brain-damages you for good. I can’t!” “Tim…” Sluice grabbed his other sleeve with her other arm, turning Silver to directly face her. Her eyes stared pleadingly into his. “I’m… I’m willing to take that risk. The way I see it I’m brain-damaged already, if I’ve developed an alternate personality… I’m just one human, if we can’t succeed now, billions will die. Please. I’d sacrifice anything of myself, up to and including my life, if I knew it’d mean the safety of others. That’s always been my mindset. It’s what being a hero is about. Please do this for me Tim… you’re my best friend, and I trust that you’ll do your best… that’s all I ask; just do your best to help me, so that I can help everyone else…” Silver’s gaze dropped to the ground. His expression was hidden in the shadows of his hood, but his stance suggested severe indecision. “… all right. I’ll do my best to… to not hurt you, Sarah. You’re my… best friend too…” A familiar blue aura began to emanate from his eyes. The two stood still for several moments, only the sound of the still-moving lift penetrating the tense silence. There was an odd sensation of pressure on Sluice’s mind; like someone was massaging her brain. The aura around Silver’s eyes flickered. Suddenly Sluice gasped and staggered back; Silver rushed forward and grabbed her. “Sarah! Are you okay?” Sluice swallowed, squeezed the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes. When she opened them again they seemed filled with renewed energy. “I feel… as good as I can, in this state. Did it work?” “I-I think so.” Sarah nodded, then suddenly pulled Silver toward herself, embracing him in a hug. Silver’s hands fumbled nervously about a bit before he decided to hug her back. The two stood like that quietly until the lift whirred to a stop. “L-looks like we’re here,” said Sluice, looking out into the dimly-lit corridor that faced them. “Let’s go…”

OOC: Really? Sweet! I guess it just goes to say: you spend forever waiting for an extra character, then two show up at once (that's probably a saying, anyway...). I've got a few ideas for another character, which I probably won't carry out until <em>at least</em> the arc after the Technax invasion wraps up; I barely just introduced Hivemind, after all. And yes, I was already planning a third character just after I got a second; call that greedy if you like, I call it being prepared. :P On the same subject, the power upgrade I've been basically hoarding for Fade is still valid, right? My next story arc is a bit dependent on it. ...and, seeing how we last left Fade trying to straight up murder Technax by shoving a fist through his chest, I'm just gonna wait for Trans to come back before carrying on roleplaying. OOC: Ooh, new character? Woo! Thankfully, I have such vast spare time that I already have concepts for at least three possible new characters. Now the question will be choosing one... Gaah! Choices! Aaaaah! *runs out the nearest window... on the fifteenth floor* ...*comes back via elevator* Okay, not doing that again. Anyway! I think last time we left off, Omega was in the infirmary on-board Esp, Shard had just split a diamond shield around the swiping tail-end and was sending them at the neck of the robot mishmash, Scorchmark was heating one of the knee joints to make it buckle and crack, but about to dodge at the last possible moment when the whirling blades o' death come for him to make them hit the weakened joint, and Carapace was presumably still coordinating Earth's defenses.

OOC: Well, I can't post Fade yet, but I can still get a little bit of roleplaying in with my other character...IC:"...Other night I dreamt of knives somethingsomething drift divide yadayada blahblah LEONARD BERNSTEIN!! somethingsomethingsomethingohwhoreallygivesaflyingfu- It's the end of the world as we know it..."Hivemind belted out another round of badly misremembered lyrics as she sped along the highway. She'd taken the first opportunity she could to ditch the War Factory gang and make a beeline - she didn't mean that as a pun, oh god, that was terrible - for Colorado Springs. Sadly, people were far too busy doing trivial things like "fleeing from all the killer robots" to properly thank her for saving all their puny little lives from the Inferno Walker. Oh well, it wasn't like Hivemind saved them for the glory of it - that's what she did mad science for. Instead she'd borrowed an eighteen-wheeler truck, seeing as no one was really in any position to protest. Alright, there was that one guy. But, hey, maybe he wasn't that allergic to bee stings? Hivemind hadn't stuck around to watch him die; for all she knew, he could've pulled through, right?Hivemind had taken the truck back up to where the wreckage of the Inferno Walker was still smouldering, and hauled as much of it as she could into the trailer. Understandably, hauling chunks of battle armor and machinery was not an easy task for a woman just over a hundred pounds, but she managed. Hivemind had no idea if any of it was actually valuable - most of it had been pretty badly melted when the thing went down - but it didn't matter, because even if it was all junk she had something much more valuable. Hivemind took a quick glance at the canister resting in the passenger seat. Inside was the Inferno Crystal, a miniature version of the focusing beam for the Walker's heat cannon. Even if she couldn't figure out how to make it work, there were people in the Coalition who'd willingly be her minion for life if it meant they could get their soon-to-be-scalded hands on that crystal for even a minute.Speaking of the Coalition... she ought to give them a call. Someone must be worried about her, what with her last being seen stealing a tiltrotor and vanishing for parts unknown. Alright, it was more likely they thought Hivemind was a no-good deserter and would probably kill her on sight; all the more reason to get in contact with them. She took her eyes of the road for a moment - an risky move, seeing how she was driving the truck at speeds fighter pilots would consider "reckless" - and pulled her Coalition communicator off her belt. Flicking a switch, a light began blinking as Hivemind sent out a distress signal. The odds of anyone answering were slim, since she imagined there were plenty of distress signals going off right about now. But she figured some Coalition goon was more likely to answer a distress signal than a probable deserter trying to explain that, no, she'd totally been on your side the entire time.Hivemind put her foot down on the pedal, pushing the truck close to the maximum speed it could go. She'd left Colorado Springs behind a while ago; honestly, she wasn't even sure where she was anymore, what with all the road signs having been blown up by robots. But she was still reasonable certain she was going east, and then she'd figure out the small matter of getting back to Europe. Either way, she wasn't planning on stopping until she either reduced the truck's engine to smoking rubble, or she plowed it straight into the Atlantic. It wasn't like the robots could really stop her, anyway; at these speeds, she figured the truck would still go another mile on sheer momentum alone if it hit anything. She put one hand on the radio and cranked up a dial, thankful she'd finally found a station playing something other than "doom-and-gloom-oh-god-we're-gonna-die" reports."It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine!"Screw the invasion; it was time for whacky roadtrip antics.[For Science!]

Real Name: George MastersAlias: Lord of LuckAppearance: A 5'11 guy with a mess of light brown hair running to just below his ears. Fairly pale white skin and blue eyes. He has no particularly distinctive features bar the semi-circular scar on his right hand. When in hero mode he wears a business like black pinstripe-suit as well as a black duster coat. He also wears a black eye mask and wears a crown atop his head. He wears a pair of black silk gloves to cover up the scar on his right hand.Power: Probability Manipulation, he can cause unlikely things to happen.Allegiance: The League of SalvationArea: Originally from Oxford, England but now lives in Los Angeles, CaliforniaBio: Ever since he was a young boy, George has always found himself to be very lucky. He realised that he was able to manipulate the outcome of certain events when in a fight with a much larger boy in school, he was able to evade the attacks of the other boy and then topple his opponent in one punch. George managed to pass his A-Levels with next to no work and upon completing them he proceeded to win the lottery. Moving to LA, he won the lottery once more and survives on the money that he made. George is extremely cocky and this over-confidence leads him to not always being able to control his power. If angered his power becomes null and he is unable to use it. This is demonstrated in his scar that was caused during a fight he was having with a small-time villain who angered him by referencing that George was nothing more than a trickster. The villain managed to strike George's hand with his sword. George was saved by another hero who was in the neighbourhood, who descended on the villain. George became the Lord of Luck once he realised how his good luck could be used to fight others and his vast wealth made it easy for him to get around. He quickly joined the League after realising that by himself he could be defeated if angered or tricked again.

OOC: So everybody gets their character upgrades over the allotted characters? Does that mean I get four, as I was two over the limit before? :???: I is so confused...

If you had two Bonus Character upgrades last time, then that carries on to this, so you can have two extra characters on top of the two characters everyone is now allowed Now does anyone have any idea how to sort out the spacing in the first post? OOC: First, the character profile for my new character, which I only want tPTI to see until he's properly introduced:

Real Name: Trenton MaxwellAlias: CybermanAppearance: When travelling 'incognito', he wears covering clothing, with long sleeves and gloves in order to hide his nature. When he removes his disguise, he wears shorts and a basketball jersey, revealling the shining metallic panels of his arms and legs.Power: Cyberman is a cybernetic-organic warrior, more commonly referred to as a cyborg. He has enhanced strength, foot rockets, in-built weaponry (primarily claws and miniature guns) and armor, enhanced senses, and can fire his hands as grappling hooks. Or really cool punches.Allegiance: C.I.A. Operative (solo hero)Area: Washington, DCBio: A C.I.A. agent, he received the experimental implants after a car accident on duty, during a mission to bring in a mad geneticist that was an escaped convict. The procedure was carried out in Area 51, where the technology had been developed in secret.

Next, my other character:Real Name: Unknown at the present time.Alias: ZooAppearance: Zoo is a tall man (6' 9"), in his early twenties. His muscles are definitely well used, but they're not bulky, and he has long limbs for his torso. He has black hair and golden, cat-like eyes. His costume consists of a forest green kevlar jumpsuit, a black lone ranger style mask, and black boots, gloves, cape, and a belt. His symbol, on his chest, is a circle with a Z in it.Power: Able to take the form of several animals, as well as access to their strength, senses, and such in human form. Highly intelligent, and has given himself a small amount of training into drug- and bomb-sniffing.Allegiance: Solo HeroArea: America, but is willing to travel.Bio: Zoo is an interesting character, and he doesn't mind. He never really fit in with society, which was a major contributing factor in his love of animals. He is an incurable altruist, helping where he can, and he has personally helped prevent a tyrannical plot from coming to completion. He has a brilliant mind, and is a definite geek.Zoo obtained his powers somewhat recently, after being kidnapped and injected with an illegal experimental drug, made from Omega-radiation charged Animal DNA. The perpetrators were caught, and Zoo was released, doctors seeing no signs of the drug affecting him. A week later, he began developing extraordinary capabilities, his senses, muscle strength, and other attributes increasing dramatically. He finally discovered his shapeshifting abilities, and set to work on being a superhero. More information will be later revealed.

OOC: Great to see this topic back, given it's more or less my whole BZP world, and it's my favourite RPG anywhere still ^_^ But, something I must ask you all..... do you truly want to continue this plot? Let's face it, no matter how many times I apologise, I butchered it, and it pratically ran a year and wasn't all that great... I admit, it wasn't exactly designed for everyone's enjoyment, mostly my own. I'll never run a plot as game-halting as this again, but I leave the plots fate up to you all. Skimp over the ending and start TSTW! in a post-invasion time, essentially a fresh slate for normality, or wrap it up and RP it out as per normal? As for where I stand? I can go either way, with most of my creativity devoted to making the ending more inclusive and fun for all than I originally invisioned... Also, replies =D IC: "Esp, how long do we have?" "Just under ten minutes" "We're cutting it close..." Silver mused as they traversed the dark hallway, poorly lit save the bright green glow at the very end, which appeared so far away, but grew steadily closer with each moment. From under the protective shadows of his hood he glanced at Sluice occasionally: the psychic had put up every defence or attempted defence he could manage into her mind... something not easy for one inexperianced in the realm of creating mental blocks. He could only pray it would hold until someone in the League could help her deal with her 'Abyss' personality once and for all.... it wasn't to be a part of her psyche. The glow was blinding now as they stepped out of the hallway in a gigantic circular chamber, a small control area affording a near-complete view of the area ahead. The Extinction Cannon was sickly, jagged green crystal that could make a Blue Whale jealous angled towards the floor at a point, with four massive orbs at each corner, pulses of incredible energy being stored from the four main generators throughout the Mothership. Apart from several clear pathways scattered around toward the center, the floor was almost entirely a clear substance, an image of the near-helpess to defend itself Earth splayed in view... but that wasn't as concerning as the several layers of shielding cutting them off from the Extinction Cannon itself. "Most of these are in the Bridge... Esp, get on those quick. Sluice.... the only way into there is through this barrier. Apparently it's only meant to allow Technax in but.... it'll have to accept me as close enough subtitute. This isn't what you want to hear, but.... this is as far as you can go" the psychic began to explain with a remorseful tone, glancing towards the entrance which was covered by a shimmering, purple barrier that would surely fry anything of a non-Crystaxian nature.... Sluice included. "I'll need you to disable some things from in here, and gaurd the entrance for me but when I tell you, you have to regroup with the others and Esp. .... promise you'll do this for me?" he pleaded, grabbing her arm briefly. This was not something he was willing to negotiate. ********************************** "Everyone, Silver and Sluice are in the Cannon but the shielding defending it is still active. I can't disable them myself without risking causing the system to initiate a premature firing automatically, you have to throw the switches manually in order. And don't just throw any old switch, the last shield is a radiation barrier and has to stay active. The controls are on a panel to the left of Technax's throne, someone get to it and do exactly as I say" Esp quickly relayed to the group fighting for their lives and those of everyone on Earth on the Bridge, whoever picked it up didn't matter as long as SOMEONE did. Technax whirled on cue and activated a round shield of energy projected from his elbow, creating a shield-of-old which surprisngly was immune to Fade's phased form, misdirecting the blow though it still glanced Technax's armoured side and sent a splatter of technological parts to the floor. "It's not going to be that easy, boy, this blocks the radiation that is the source of your power" the cyborg growled, taking an aggressive swing at Fade with his un-phasable shield, backpedaling away after the strike towards of the huge 'windows' with a view of the Earth. The tag-team on Gaurdian X were battered around until Shard's strike connected and with a loud scraping of metal and shower of sparks, the mish-mash of robotic warriors was beheaded. It's head and the attached head-cannon clattered to the floor... but Gaurdian X just stood there. Then it rushed towards and swung it's blade-tail at Shard, hard, aiming to smash him in the face with it..... so it even functioned headless. Great.

OOC: As I said in PM, I don't think it's worth getting this far without seeing the finale through. IC: Sluice nodded without thinking. She had to. She couldn't let herself dwell on what Silver was asking - this was not the time for indecision. "Just tell me what I need to disable," she said quietly...

OOC: Personally? I'd play out the finale. It was practically done when the servers went dark (unless there was some secret final phase you've neglected to mention :P ), and I've stuck with the plot long enough that I plan on seeing it to the end.IC:"Source of my powers?" Fade chuckled. "Nah, just one of my skills. Your're not the first alien who's tried to stop me with some fancy shields, and I have no intention of letting you be the last.Fade ducked, the shielded arm missing him by a mere inch. He rolled to the side, looking towards Technax's throne. He picked up Esp's message; it didn't matter if he beat Technax here, if they couldn't shut down the cannon. But he didn't have much of a chance of getting to it with Technax trying to kill him. Fade scooped up the sparking bits of tech he'd shaved off Technax's armor and wrapped them around a smoke bomb; hopefully there was enough juice in these parts to amp up the explosive power. As Technax backed up towards the windows, Fade wound up a pitch and threw, hurling the bomb towards the glass and ran. He didn't know how much damage that'd do - ideally he was looking to blast Technax into space without doing the same for the rest of his group - but at the very least it'd be a distraction. Even if it blew a small hole in the glass, the brief atmospheric disturbance would distract Technax long enough to give him a chance for the throne. Even if the window was too thick to break, a small explosion by his head ought to at distract Technax for at least a few seconds.Of course, most of this plan relied on Technax having been smart enough to install emergency systems in case of a hull breech, because otherwise this would end badly for everyone. Given that the mothership had a breathable atmosphere in the first place, Fade could only hope that meant Technax was keen on keeping it inside his ship.Meanwhile, Reptoid One slunk over towards the severed head of Guardian X. It's arms began to shift, silvery tendrils emerging from it's claws. They attached itself to the head, and began to pulse and glow as Reptoid one lifted it up. All it needed was to find the right power source and it could power up the head cannon, using Guardian X's own weapons against it...[For Science!]

OOC: Oh, no - we did not come this far and wait this long just to give up now. We're seeing this through to the end. NPC: One benefit of his limited super-speed was that Scorchmark's reflexes and perception were considerably more acute than those of most people. As the blades bore down on him like the scythes of Death, he gathered his energy, dividing it between his current task and a small store set aside. The joint had started cracking under the stress - before long it would be completely inoperable. He waited until the last possible nanosecond... then, in a burst of sudden speed, he dashed out of the way of the blade aimed at his back, leaving it on a fast track to the already-weakened leg he'd been working on. XH-DX IC: An interesting fact about Shard's crystalline body was that, when he wasn't actively controlling it, it didn't go limp the way organic bodies did, but remained rigid. When he was sent flying across the ground, bouncing off it repeatedly and sending chips of diamond flying everywhere, this proved to be a bad thing. Going limp would have mitigated the damage at least somewhat. As it was, he ended up on the ground, groaning from dizziness and thankful he couldn't feel real pain right now, because as he tried to push himself up, he found one of his hands had snapped off at the wrist. Fantastic. He pushed himself up anyway using only the stump and looked around for his fallen appendage, then decided he'd pick it up later. For now he molded the remainder of the arm into a long, thin diamond blade and looked up at the headless Guardian X. "Okay, ugly: Round two!" And with that he launched himself forward, new blade-arm leading the charge. *H-D*

OOC: Guess we're ending it with a bang then! Quite a few bangs, in fact... IC: Silver's relayed instructions were hurried at best, as the countdown to Earth's destructive end would not wait for them. Apart from keeping the entrance gaurded until Silver was past the final shield that keep him from the exposed Extinction Cannon, Sluice would also have to throw three switches as he advanced, in order to verify that he was not a threat: something that if not thrown would vent the Cannon's suroundings into the void. "Here, here and here.... in that order. Esp'll tell you when to throw them, and they'll sort out the rest up top, so don't worry" the psychic explained, spending a few moments during his explanation silently rechecking his mental barriers: it didn't look like he'd get another chance. Noting the growing concern becoming plain on her weary features, Silver unexpectantly grasped one of her hands. "Sarah. Everything will be fine. You just get me in there, get yourself back to the others, and I'll meet you on Esp as this whole place goes up... you just make sure you're still in once peice, okay? Photon'll kill me if I have to help pay his rent" he forced a chuckle, trying to lighten the heavy mood... unrealistic given the circumstances, but he couldn't just allow her to worry herself until she collasped. "We're running out of time, and you've got an unwanted visitor. Silver, you need to be in there now. Sluice, it's a lone Hunter but do you think you can handle it, because you're going to have to" Even from beneath his hood she could tell his annoyance at this, turning towards the hallway and rapidly firing two psychic blasts down the corridor: even if he couldn't fight it directly he could still at least stall it. "I have to go now. Stay..... stay safe" Silver was incredibly reluctant to let his grip on her go, gripping her until the last of her fingers slipped and they seperated. He'd have to remember this for a while to come... assuming that lastest that long. Turning her glanced at the barrier designed to keep anyone other than Technax out and steeled himself before stepping into it... and passing right through unharmed. He let ouf the breath he'd been holding, and taking once last glance inwards, steeping onwards into the Extinction's Cannon's walkways. ********************************** Technax sidestepped the smoke-bomb bundle that impacted and exploded against the 'glass', which fractured but remained intact (that notable since all the smoke gathered around Technax, and wasn't immediatly sucked outside). Releasing some kind of alien sound, most likely a swear, he fired his cannon several times in the general direction of his attackers: most missed by a while but one passed by uncomfortably close to Scorchmark's head. "You'll find a panel on the control area closest to the throne, and rotate what I tell you to the left in the precise order I tell you, and don't let ANYONE change their postion" Esp began, going on to list a annoyingly detailed description of which controls to use: maybe it would be appreciated given how the panel looked like what you'd see in the control room of a plane. An alien plane. As X's head was picked up and powered, the cannon end began to glow.... before discharging wildly and almost aggressively. Considering the sounds the head was making, powering it up seemed to reactivate the "brain" itself, and it was now trying to fry it's holder: this might also mean it was too smart to actually fire on an ally. X's headless body swung it's tail hard at Scorch, but despite the perfect lining X's programming was too advanced, and it managed to redirect the blade.... unfortunatly embedding it into the floor, but that was still better than it's leg. "Growling" at Shard, two of it's still functional arms lashed out and outright grabbed his blade-arm, holding on despite shredding themselves on the sharp diamond and trying to swing him around like a bat, right into Scorchmark. That'd really hurt, being bashed over the head with your teammate and all.

IC: Sluice kept an eye on Silver long enough to see that he'd passed through the barrier unharmed. Then she whirled toward the entranceway from whence the sounds of the Hunter (stalled by the psychic blasts no doubt) was coming. She willed some ice daggers to form in the air around her, ready to fling as soon as the robot was in sight. Exhaustion and stress were hardly aids to creativity. Still it was better to go with something tried and true. With her body aching all over Sluice was sure that she could only manage long range combat...

IC: Sluice did not have to wait long, for the super-speed powered motorbike was soon in view speeding towards her rapidly: but rather than remain at extradinarily high speeds it slowed down, shifting from motorbike to it's tall and lanky combat form. Wheels in the place of feet and it's arms nothing but large metal blades that would make Silver's wristblades seem pathetically short, it regarded the aquakinetic almost warily... other Hunter's had run into her before and not come out of it intact. Rolling towards her, the Hunter began to slash it's blades ahead of it defensively as it approached, uses it's offensive weapons as a shield of sorts as it tried to close the gap and allow her weak organic body to become aqquianted with giant metal blades.

IC:Fade glanced back as he ran, noting his makeshift explosion had failed to breech the hull - although it looked like it'd at least compromised its stability just a bit, good to know if he needed to try that again. He stopped just in front of the throne, and glanced down at the control panel It did, in fact, remind him a little of a plane, and Fade had some passing familiarity with those. Unfortunately, it was from jumping out of said plane because the controls were too damaged to work with. Still, he'd helped design fighter jet controls for Logan, he'd been able to work out the Coalition's tiltrotor controls because of that, and he could probably get the hang of this anyway. Hold on, not probably, he would.Failure wasn't an option here. "Alright, Esp, guide me through this," he muttered, placing his hands on the controls. Meanwhile, Reptoid One struggled with the uncooperative head, desperately attempting to aim its weapon back at its body. Bits of silvery goop dripped off its arms, landing on the deck with a sizzle and turning a burnt black. A Reptoid consciousness required a carefully calibrated charge to maintain the connection between its cells, and the Reptoid had attempted to power up the head using its own bioelectricity. Unfortunately, it looked like its gamble had failed to pay off, and now the feedback jolts were slowly killing it. Even still, it struggled, trying to line up just one good shot at Guardian X. IC: The ice daggers were launched immediately. The Hunter's blades met and destroyed most of them - the few that got through shattered ineffectively against its armour. Sluice backed hastily toward the first of the switches Silver had indicated, wanting to be ready to flip it at a moment's notice. She kept her gaze on the Hunter though, willing the moisture in the air to freeze across the floor between them. With any luck those wheel-feet wouldn't have much traction on the ice...

Real Name : Kaleb DerkinsAlias : Dr. AnatomyAppearance : When no powers are activated he is 6 feet tall with graying black hair, he wears a black t-shirt, khaki shorts, and a lab coat with the sleeves rolled up to his elbow, he wears sandals and wears glasses that could hardly get thicker, his super form does not vary.Power: He has the ability to manipulate his own flesh and bones and to change the composition ratios of its elements, this is usually activated by an evil looking grin he gives off. He feels no pain and will lose no blood as long as his brain retains it's integrity.Allegiance : Coalition of Corruption, Area: North CarolinaBio : Kaleb was raised by a wealthy family and was educated in many useful skills such as fencing, marksmanship, and a high quality education, at the age of 17 he was accepted into Harvard's Medical school where he earned a masters in anatomy and nonperforming in Chemistry, at Harvard he became talented in the track and field events of Shot Put and Javelin throwing. Around the age of 29 he discovered his powers and was able to master them with his attained knowledge . He then wanted to research the effects of omega radiation on normal human beings and sought out financial support and membership from the league but they deemed his methods to be inhumane and he was forced to take out his family inheritance early to find his research. When his lab was destroyed by a group heroes he sought financial support from the Coalition promising an army of super soldiers. The Coalition granted him a research lab in the Appalachian Mountains near his hometown and enough money to fund his research for the next twenty years. He often carries around a briefcase containing elements that compose the human body and if combat is expected he will either carry a saber or a bolt action rifle of a high calibur.

IC: Shard was not having a good day. He had all but run out of the energy needed to create solid crystal matter, he was missing a hand, he had been tossed about more often than he cared to count in the last hour alone, and to top it all off he couldn't remember if he'd left the oven on at home, though it likely didn't matter as his home had probably been invaded and/or obliterated by alien robots. And now, of course, he was being used as a blunt object against his ally. Well, he could at least give this thing a fight over it. Calling up what remained of his energy, the hero sprouted dozens of tiny, inch-long, razor-sharp barbs along the arm he was being held by. They were small, true, but like the thorns on a rose they would do more damage the harder they were held. If this thing thought its appendages were being shredded before... *H-D* NPC: Thankfully, as noted earlier, Scorchmark's reflexes were considerably better than most peoples' - including, hopefully, this robot. They were certainly good enough that he managed to dodge out of the way just in time to avoid being clubbed with his own comrade. Being hit with a person hurts - being hit with a person made of diamond is significantly more painful... and lethal. Pausing only to take a breath through his ventilator, he dashed up to the already-damaged leg and found the point he'd been working on before. He brought the tips of two fingers to it and focused - a small, blue jet of flame, like a blowtorch, formed at the fingertips, and he brought it down on the point where the damage seemed greatest. All the while, of course, ready to dodge again should the robot get any more bright ideas. XH-DX

OOC: @TPTI - That's brilliant, thanks. I know exactly who I want as my fourth character, but as I'm trying to manipulate my character count at the moment, I'll wait until after the invasion to post him. (I have no use for him until then, anyway.) @Trans - I'd say skip to post-invasion, but A. I'd be outnumbered and B. I'd be lieing. :P I desperately want to see how this plays out; I've said numerous times, amidst my constant grumbling (which I apologize for), that this plot was really fantastic, just drawn out a bit. We can't stop now, this is one of those situation that we wait entire plots for - Doctor Danger's grand scheme unveiled, fighting Ikusen Sakeme to keep him from enslaving the world. We're in one of Earth's darkest hours now, we have to save the world! That's why we're all here, isn't it? I'm going to use one of KN's time ripple/warp effects to explain why Loadstone didn't show up with Scorchmark and the others. Which means I can make a dramatic new RPG entrance... IC: (Loadstone)With a ear-splitting shriek, the twisted fragments of the doorway to the Armada Mothership's bridge ripped from the walls, forming a metallic sphere that hovered in midair, a purple aura swirling around it like mist. The metallic soles of his purple boots clicking against the metal floor, Loadstone strode into the room. His silver suit was covered in scorch marks and soot, and his normally sly expression was replaced by a murderous glare. "All right, play time is over," he snarled, readying to lob his makeshift projectile at the first robot (or cyborg) that he saw... OOC: Who in this room is magnetic? IC: (Aquarius)The Battle of Central Park was slowly coming to an end as the League began methodically erradiacting the last few waves of robots. With the Armada Mothership no longer casting its imposing shadow over Earth, the defenders of the planet had been given a small bit of hope that the onslaught was at its end. The closer the battle came to an end, the farther into the outskirts of New York City Aquarius moved. While, in the face of extinction, the League was willing to overlook anyone's past crimes if they were helping to defend the world, he wasn't about to take any chances when they weren't busy fighting hordes of alien androids. A sudden beeping caught his attention, and he pulled out his Coalition Communicator. One of the last remnants of Doctor Danger's forty-year reign of the Coalition, the communicator was a marvelous piece of technology. It consisted of a long, Y-shaped base, padded grips along the sides, and a large circular digital screen at its top. Even with the amount of long-range communications in use in the modern world, the Coalition Communicators still operated on a secure network - they recorded audio and fractured it over a number of different radio frequencies, incomprehensible save to other communicators, which then reassembled the message in near perfect condition. The beeping signified a distress signal, localized or it wouldn't have continued for so long. Aquarius quickly opened a channel to the communicator that was eminating the signal. "This is Aquarius, answering your SOS," he said, holding the device like a walkie-talkie. "I need your name and location. What's up?" OOC: That's Hivemind's signal, for the record. I figured that she'd have made it to NYC sooner or later, and time in TSTW doesn't run like in the real world. An image of the Coalition Communicators, for those wondering. ~Lord Rahl~

IC:A voice came through on her communicator, and Hivemind plucked it from her belt - nearly spinning the truck off an bridge as she took a hand off the wheel. Trying and failing to think of any good trucker lingo, Hivemind flicked on the comm to respond. "Alright! So, Aquarius, eh? I'm more of an Aries myself... except no, actually I'm Hivemind," she said, rather quickly. "So, you know those... what're they called... that's right, Inferno Walkers! You know them? Well, uh... I killed one. Yes, I know, it was awesome. I've... well, I suppose the word is commandeered a vehicle, and I've loaded it up with whatever junk I was able to collect from the wreckage, some of it's probably valuable. Which makes getting it back to base a bit of an issue, unless I'm able to get this truck going so fast it'll just skip over water, which might be possible if I can do the caluclations-" Hivemind stopped herself, realizing she just might have gotten a little off track. "Point I'm trying to make is, any way you could wrangle up some kinda transport for me? Of an aerial variety, preferably? That'd just be swell." Hivemind gave a quick glance out the window at the quickly vanishing scenery. "I'm somewhere... brown. Possibly green too. Do you really need my position? Can't you just lock onto the signal from my comm and triangulate my position or something- I know I'm just throwing out technobabble here, but it seems plausible." [For Science!]

OOC:Alright my charrie is in the first post, time for my first post! IC: Deep in a mountain in the western tip of North Carolina Dr. Anatomy was conducting some kind of experiment on a hiker who had got lost while trying to avoid the alien invasion. Dr. Anatomy never went out much and usually had a few months woth of food stocked up for such events. But at the moment he was at the brink of a breakthrough! Using omega radiation harnesed from a captured super hero that gave off an unusual amount of the stuff. The hero was strapped to a machine that was develpoed by an evil maniac in Germany built specifically to drain OR from super heroes. The hiker was strapped onto a table in the middle of the lab with a large half sphere hovering over his body that was connected to the machine the super hero was connected to. "My, my aren't you the lucky one?" Dr. Anatomy suddenly asked after finishing some last minute calculations. "I finally found out how to give super powers to normal people! And you! You will be the first to experiance such a transformation! But don't get any idea's on trying to break out once you have powers! A friend of mine from the Coalition has provided me with a mind control device, when you wake up, you will be under my complete control." "But.. but I..." The hiker started. "Ahbuh buh buh!" The Dr said covering the man's mouth. "No need for words! Only sleep!" Dr. Anatomy then lowered an anasthetic's mask over the hiker's mouth and nose and the man soon fell asleep. "Now I'm no anasthegiologist but that should knock you out for this..." Dr. Anatomy gave a wicked smile and thought '95% carbon, rearrange the atoms, 5% other, increase muscle mass in right armr' his right hand soon became as hard as a diamond and he dove his hand into the man's chest to open a pathway to the heart. 'chemical proportions back to normal, rearrange the atoms, decrease muscle mass' his hand and arm returned to normal. "Sorry about the wound, I'm no surgeon." he said as his smile faded. He grabbed the large half sphere and positioned it over the man's chest wound. "Don't worry about that chest wound, if this works you'll live if not, well you'd die anyways." He said as if the hiker could hear him. Dr. Anatomy trotted over to his machinary and activated it. Orange OR began to flow out of the half sphere and into the man's chest, soon the man's heart began to glow orange, Dr. Anatomy cursed and shut down the machinary but it was too late, the heart began to beat ten times too fast and finally exploded. "Poo, well there goes another one, maybe next time I'll try injecting it into the bloodstream, or maybe...'" and he trailed off naming many more possibilities and then debating each one as he often did after a failed experimtent. Soon enough he sighed and said "After coming this far I'm stuck on this one stumbling block..." Edit: Alternate word for Poo was not accepted by BZPowerness

"Follow this order exactly and as quickly as you can: top green, bottom-left blue, middle-left orange, top-middle purple, bottom-right green, middle-right orange, top right blue then bottom-middle purple. DO NOT let anyone change the red one in the center!" Esp relayed the order the dial-like devices had to be rotated to one side, save the final, glaringly red one in the center of the others. Reptoid One and it's mission to make the head shoot it's own body got a lucky break, as it managed to fool it's targeting: by using it's own form as bait. Putting itself between the head and it's body, it fired but the Reptoid nimbly redirected just in time as the shot sailed toward it's target and hit the leg Scorchmark had been working on for quite a while; work that paid off since the joint was so weakened it just snapped under the force and went clattering away. That was rather unappreciated by X, part of it's arm also falling away after Shard's little shredding trick. The Gaurdian mishmash was in a bad way, headless, most of it's weapons offline and now missing most of it's limbs as well; only it's torso, tailblade, 2 out of 4 arms and a lone leg remained. "Too late, heroes. Your victory here is meaningless as it has cost you your very world.... but I'll see you all again soon! Hahahahaha!" Technax cackled as specialised systems from his body formed a kind of armoured suit over part of his body; with the arrival of the magnetic hero Technax knew it was time to withdraw, even with his magnetic-dampeners making him more or less immune. Turning in place, the cyborg raised his cannon and fired into the fractured window structure, shattering it effortlessly and sending himself into the void: something he could survive due to suit, his function leg thruster propelling him away and out of view as he traversed his Mothership's outer hull. This left everyone else with a gigantic problem: namely a giant hole in the bridge sucking air, parts, and anyone unlucky enough to have nothing to grab out into the lifeless void of space. Despite this, Gaurdian X was still functioning, clawing it's way across the floor towards the control panel Fade was meant to be throwing: it seemed it might be onto the plan. Or maybe it had advanced it's programming so far it just hated Fade's guts as much as it's master did. Aware of Loadstone's presence as well, a forked device was active on it's shoulder, creating an anti-magnetic field around itself... not as strong as usual, as the other shoulder's device was totalled. ************************************************ Sluice's gamble paid off, for a Hunter unit was not designed for icy travel in the least. Having built up too much speed it's attempt to stop left it hitting the ice and clattering to the floor, wheel-feet having no grip. Trying to right itself it slashed it's bladearms into the wall beside it, trying to claw it's way back up and across the terrian that would completely wall it. OOC: Most of the control room is magnetic, any destroyed robot goons are magnetic, and Gaurdian X is mostly magnetic save when a Magnetic Dampener is active, making it immune until that's destroyed. Technax has his two active so he's immune to magnetics... mostly since without them, he'd be incredibly easy to kill. Having metal in your brain creates those kinds of weaknesses =P

IC:Fade dug his grappler into Technax's throne as the room rapidly decompressed. He wasn't worried about running out of breath at the moment; a ship this size had a lot of atmosphere to vent. Once he was certain he wouldn't be sucked out into the blackness of space, Fade strained against the rushing oxygen to grab hold of the control panel. One arm wrapped itself around the control panel to keep himself as steady as human possible, the other strained itself across the panel, carefully adjusting the dials to the setting Esp had ordered. With that task complete, Fade turned his attention towards the roughly dozen other problems threatening the group. Technax was out of the fight for the moment; he might poke his ugly metal head back in to be a nuisance later on, but Fade was focusing on the Now. Apparently Technax was dumb enough to vent atmosphere from his own ship, or at least had disabled the proper safeguards. None of Fade's talents extended to sealing a leak in a spaceship, and he wasn't about to mess with the controls to find a safeguard. The other members of the team were much better equipped to deal with the threat. That just left Guardian X. Probably the most advanced piece of machinery in the entire Armada, and it looked it's processors were focused on one goal: murdering him. It was on its last legs - okay, leg - but it almost certainly had enough juice left to dice him up and smash the controls. If that happened... it was all over. No more Earth, no more humanity, no more Isobel. Well, if this bot wanted a fight, Fade was sure going to give him one. Adjusting his grappler, Fade extended his line, swinging out over the gaping hole in the hull. He let the rope snap taunt, the elastic properties of the cable snapping him back up again. Fade hurled himself at Guardian X with wristblades extended, slashing at everything he could. It didn't matter if he had to smash every last part in this bot, Fade was not letting it touch that button. "Whatever happens, NO ONE let's this hunk of junk touch those controls! Not even for a second!" Fade shouted, but he had no idea if he was even heard over the roar of decompression. --- If a collective of cells masquerading in roughly humanoid form could feel pride, that's what Reptoid One would have felt in that moment. "Reptoid One" might as well be the closest it had to a name; it had no name for itself, or even much of a concept of names. Collectives merged and separated, replicated and died, so many times there was simply no need for anything like personal identity. But the Reptoid's pride was short lived. Moments later the window broke into a shower of glass, and the oxygen began to flow from the room like water down the drain. It's claws still gripping the severed head of Guardian X, Reptoid One could not reach a handhold in time. Silvery limbs burst across its form, desperately clawing at metal to avoid its fate. But it simply wasn't enough, and moments later Reptoid One found itself tumbling across the void, the silvery disk that had imprisoned it for so long sinking into the inky darkness. A blue dot appeared in Reptoid One's vision, distant at the moment but slowly growing larger. The Reptoid knew its fate in that exact instant: several months drifting through an icy void, then a few brief, terrible moments before it burnt to death entering the planet's atmosphere. Reptoid One had seen the silver man that imprisoned them escaped; in that regard, its mission had been a failure. But in its final moments, it knew another, far greater goal might still be realized. Microcollectives came and went, melding and splitting as the Reptoids spread their influence across the stars, but they were simply extensions of the one collective all Reptoids would eventually return to. Reptoids had no natural language or names, communicating in tongues of pure thought. But if one were to translate this thought-speak into words, the closest translation in human terms for this mega-collective would be the Motherswarm. In the eyes of the Reptoids it was a beauty; a pure silver marble gleaming in the glow of nebulae. There was no trace remaining of the world that had spawned the Reptoids; every raw material on the planet had been consumed by the collective. The entire world was a sea of swirling silver, a massive collective made of more cells than there are numbers to measure. These shifting seas could assume any shape imaginable, a sand-blasted desert, a lush jungle oasis, a city clawing towards the heavens. Travelers would come to the world seeing a paradise unlike any in the universe... only to be consumed whole as the Motherswarm revealed its true colors. ...Or that was how it was, until one day the armies of Technax poured forth from the blackness of space. The collective was quick to disguise itself; if a warlord like Technax knew the true nature of the Motherswarm, he would not rest until such a powerful threat had been wiped from the universe. The Reptoid collective fought with all their might, conjuring the deadliest weapons their combined minds could dream up in defense of their home. But the Reptoid s were a race that conquered by subterfuge and manipulation; in open combat they were no match for Technax's strength. In desperation, the Reptoid's let Technax believe he'd destroyed their civilization - or what appeared to be their civilization, at least on the surface - in the hopes he'd lose interest in the battle-scarred world and leave the Motherswarm untouched. But for whatever reason - sadism, perhaps, or anger, or even simply boredom - Technax was not content to simply leave the Reptoids broken and turned all his weapons on the world, burning it with the intensity of a supernova. Reptoid One, imprisoned on Technax's floating fortress like a mere curiosity, felt uncountable numbers of his brethren die with cries of the purest agony as the Motherswarm was burnt down to nothing. But even contained in stasis, its link with the collective was never truly broken. Reptoid One knew microcollectives survived on other worlds, slowly infiltrating and consuming them from within. But while the Reptoid collective survived, they were scattered and incomplete without their precious Mothersphere. The connections between collectives was weakening the further they grew from each other, and war had even broken out between rival swarms. The Reptoids needed a new Motherswarm to unite them, but of all the worlds they conquered, none had proved suitable. Until now. As Reptoid One stared down on the brilliant blue jewel that would soon be his killer, all fifty billion of his cells knew at long last the Reptoid collective had found its new nest. And even if it died here today, it knew such a death would not be in vain. As far as Technax knew, there were only two Reptoids aboard his fleet, safely stored in stasis. But in the final days of their war many had stowed away, disguised as any of the countless death machines Technax had rolled across their world. They had marched as Technax conquered untold numbers of worlds, indistinguishable in every way from Technax's own automatons. They were few - maybe one in a billion of Technax's drones was a Reptoid infiltrator - but Reptoids were above all things patient, and they would be willing to wait until the end of time for the perfect moment to strik. That moment, it seemed, had come. With Technax's ships warped across the cosmos, they were separated and vulnerable. The Reptoids would rise again, and even if Technax's drones beat them down on a hundred ships, they only needed one. They would search the cosmos, for years if it took, until they found some retirement of the once-great Reptoid swarm. And they would tell them all they had seen, and for the first time in their history the Reptoids would have reason to care about a name: Earth. OOC: So, I got to thinking about how Technax wound up with Reptoids in his hold, and this is the scenario I wound up with. Don't worry about a Reptoid invasion at the moment though: I haven't thought about how I'd work it into my current plot, not to mention after all this, it's probably wise to wait before we have another alien invasion. Besides, as Reptoid One pointed out, it could be years (decades, maybe) before the Reptoids can mobilize a new invasion force. Just an interesting thought, that's all this is. [For Science!]

IC: Fade wasn't the only one with that idea. Forcing his body forward despite the vacuum, Shard managed to latch on to the back of the oversized scrap-heap and grew a number of inch-long, barbed spikes along his body, attaching him to its chassis. "Hey there, big man! Miss me?" He raised his thorny, bladed left arm and thrust it downward at the chassis. If worst came to worst, he would grip as tightly as he could and pull them both out into the void of space - both could survive it, but at least then it wouldn't be a danger to the others. As for Shard, he'd find his way back. Not like he needed to breathe or anything. *H-D* NPC: Scorchmark, meanwhile, had a different problem. Namely oxygen. Specifically the impending lack thereof. Now, granted, his ventilator also doubled as a rebreather, recycling the carbon dioxide he breathed out into usable oxygen and thus both increasing his intake and allowing him to survive in airless environments, but hard vacuum had this slight tendency to violently implode people. To counteract this, Scorchmark was now running for his life at superhuman speed, breathing as heavily and rapidly as he could to offset the power burn, in the hopes of finding something to hold on to. So far it wasn't going well. Eventually he managed to leap forward, grab a floor plate sticking up at the edge and hold on for dear life... XH-DX

IC: With the Hunter inconvenienced Sluice had time to draw more moisture from the air. She tried a few more ice daggers but they shattered as uselessly as the first round. She needed to hit with something harder. She scanned the environment quickly as it stabbed its way towards her. Her gaze rested on the metal panels that covered the ceiling. She urged moisture to flow into the gaps between them and freeze. The rapid expansion should hopefully break some panels free, creating a shower of debris onto the Hunter...

IC: Gaurdian X was many things.... and despite it's fabricated nature, it was also very stubborn. Despite losing another functional arm and having a number of gashes in it's torso, and the downwards stabbing and dragging leading it dangerously close to bisection as the result of Shard's aggression, Gaurdian X was still coming, though it was attempting to stab it's attackers to death with it's only functional weapon, it's stinger tail. Just another arm's length from the controls, X still dragged itself on reaching out to misdirect the controls; as many as it could before it was defeated. Just one could potentially be disasterous. ************************************** Silver was impressed as ahead of him, shields began to gradually disable far faster than expected: but Technax being killed outright was too much to hope for. Moving foward as fast as he could, he paused by a blinking red light on his pathway... he hadn't been 'cleared' yet. "Sluice, you need to throw the switches now.... all of them. The shields are fading already and I have to get through" he contacted her through her earpeice, idling by the red light as it began to form a shrinking-pie-chart shape.... he got the really nasty feeling that was actually how long he had before it would eject him into space. Having her own problems would delay her at worst, the Hunter about to cross the icy patch as suddenly several panels broke free: heavy and one with a jagged edge. The others bashed it around floored it, the jagged one embedding deep into it's back in a shower of sparks, and impeding it's movements as several systems failed and jammed.

IC:Fade ducked to the side to avoid being skewered on Guardian X's tail. He kept as close to the robot's torso as he could, hoping he could trick the robot into stabbing itself. But despite Fade's best efforts, Guardian X was dangerously close to the controls. Fade thrust is wristblades into the joints on Guardian X's limbs, determined to break something vital.---Hivemind's eyes lit up as a idea entered her head. Grinning, she switched her comm on to call Aquarius again."Y'know what? Forget the transport. Speaking from experience, they have an annoying habit of exploding when they get shot at." Not to mentioned another Coalition member would need to fly it in, and the fewer people who knew about Hivemind's big find, the better. "You said your name was Aquarius? I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess your powers have something to do with water. So... why don't you just move some the ocean out of the way so I can drive through? Come on, man, let's show this ocean who's boss! Oh, this is gonna be awesome..."[For Science!]

IC: Having already backed toward the switches, Sluice was able to flip them for Silver immediately. He should be okay to advance now; she, on the other hand, was cornered with a damaged, but still active, Hunter before her. She focused on sending water into the breaks in its armour...

IC: Shard called out to Fade. "Get off! I have an idea!" In truth it was less an idea and more a desperate attempt at ending the threat, but at this point who cares? The moment Fade was gone, he would pull back with all his might - not just physically, but in the same manner that he flew, telekinetically moving his own crystalline bulk, attached as it was to the Guardian's, backward and upward. If he could get them both caught in the vacuum's pull, and keep them that way, the control panel was safe. And once they were out in space, he would deal with what was left of this B-movie reject personally. *H-D*
