That would be a really nice idea. I have always like classic literature. A intersting thing also is the Shaun of the Dead reaching 10,000. I wonder how it's review will fare. It will certainly put LEGO's violence policy to the test.I don't HAVE projects on CUUSOO,but I have been thinking about making some War of the Worlds models(Tripod,Alien crashsite, flying flamemachine,etc.).

No, it will most probably be released as a standalone set, like the other Cuusoo models. Besides, the licensing requirement ensures that it will specifically depict the movie, rather than being a plain architectural model. It's size is that of a modular building,so it will most probably get released alongside the modular buildings.

I'm not a member of Cuusoo and can't legally create projects there (an inane rule as it is easily circumvented, but I won't rant here), but I certainly keep up with projects that have a lot of supporters and will most likely be reviewed at some point.

It may be easy to circumvent, but if you create a project there, it´s because you want it to become a product. And if it does and it turns out you lied by setting your age over 18 years, you may get into more trouble that is worth it.I think it's one of the best original and creative ideas that LEGO has had in many, many years. They're still working the bugs out of it, but I believe that it will yield viable products and concepts for years to come.

I agree about the rest, though, Cuusoo is a great idea with hopefully many years of success and evolution to come. Who knows, one day, even entire themes may result from it and not just single sets.

Hi everyone. Whats everyones opinion on LEGO CUUSOO? LEGO has updated the site alot since the site was created. To avoid plagiarism and spam projects LEGO now moderates every project before it is improved and published. Whenever you support a project a list of related projects comes up. The staff have more time to comment and give advice to projects also. Also just recently the Winchester Shaun of the Dead project reached 10,000 and is currently in review. I would also like to know how many BZPers are on CUUSOO. I would like to see you there! Feel free to show your projects also.
CUUSOO is a good idea. I'm supporting several projects (see my sig), and I'm glad we're allowed to submit projects like this to Lego. I might even have some plans coming up.

But I agree, it's a useful service and I think it has potential. Just the fact it now has been put out there by Simon Pegg over social and talk shows will help it out, plus the Minecraft model will push it further.
Eventually we'll get more submissions, and more things to push forward. I think it'll be highly successful in the long run.

I've never submitted anything to CUUSOO, because most of what I build would be way too complex and have too many pieces per inch that sets would cost a couple hundred bucks. I check CUUSOO a good deal, a lot of the time by being referred from a news article on various sites. I do support a lot of projects, most of which are the high-quality LEGO Architecture projects.

It has done very well in the recent months with all the media coverage. I find that there is a shortage of good MOC critiscism on the site to be honest. It makes it kind of hard to improve projects and MOCs. I would personally submit a model to CUUSOO. The models you build are treated as prototypes and LEGO could always work out the little details if it did hit 10,000. I am expecting the verdict for Shaun of the Dead in about a month. Let's see what happens to it in the review.I think that LEGO CUUSOO is a really good concept for LEGO to use, because it really lets people get rewarded for their creativity. Also, criticism from other LEGO fans is great to have, so that people can improve and create better projects.

Take your time with it. You would be surprised what you can come up with if you give yourself time. I took a while making the MOC in my avatar and in my opinion it came out great. Let me know if you post it up!I've thought about making LEGO Doc Martin just for fun but I'm not good enough in LDD.

Eh, it's not amazing, but it's okay. I like the use of many colors, but each character doesn't have enough colors for themselves. I personally don't like BIONICLE recreation projects on CUUSOO, because they typically miss the whole point, in my opinion. There's quite a nice BIONICLE project on there that's been given the green light by the staff. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/8380

I have to agree with you there. The main problem with the project in my opinion is the lack of a main team. It seems to have characters going all over the place. I mean there is Orde, Kopaka, and Malum. It does not seem to have a main focus. I will be perfectly honest and say that I am fine with BIONICLE being over. It had a good run and not it's over. I am perfectly fine with that. Everything has to end at some point. The staff posted a blog post on running a good project recently. It's very useful for some people that might want to start their own project. http://legocuusoo.po...uusoo-project-oEh, it's not amazing, but it's okay. I have supported all of his projects. His MOCing skills with dragons far surpass mine. I highly recomend you check out his projects and MOC's. They are some of the best on the site.I stumbled upon a very nice dragon MOC called "The Venomous Toxicrill". It's got a very good color scheme, and is very unique. I feel it would work well as a CUUSOO set, therefore I supported it. If you like it too, be sure to support this very nice project by CUUSOO member Stormbringer.

It's technically not a revival project. It's a continuation of an old line (read the description). I for one think it's a great project. The reason for which the sets look strange is because the MOCer behind it was limited due to the program's constraints.
As for the team thing, I'll admit it's kind of varied. But at least we get cool sets of cool characters.

This is the only reason I give a Karz about Cuusoo. It's not a full-on revival, but these would make some good sets. Why only Kopaka for the Toa, though?
Having no story revival leaves room for the imagination, at least. Isn't that what Lego is supposed to be about?

QUOTE
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a young heroine in possession of a strong and independent personality must be in want of a boyfriend.
However little known the feelings or views of such a heroine may be on her first entering a canon, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding shippers that she is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their favourite male characters.

Honestly, all of those proposed Cuusoo sets of Bionicle look absolutely terrible. Fortunately, people have had the sense not to support it.

Well, that's about right, but it looks like the next one to hit 10k will be the Modular Western Town by mb_bricks. This project has been shared on various LEGO communities urging them to support it, and it's getting very close to its goal. This one will be interesting to see how it goes through LEGO review, because it seems LEGO's target scale for CUUSOO sets is much smaller than modular scale.Geez it's been a busy month on CUUSOO. For anyone that does not know BTTF, Firefly, and The Legend of Zelda have hit 10k. It seems to me that original IP's are much harder to hit 10k with. Most big projects on CUUSOO all require licences.

Indeed. The modular western town seems to be the next one in line unless some project takes off again. From what I heard the Western Town is being encouraged to pick one building for production. It would still be rather large though.Well, that's about right, but it looks like the next one to hit 10k will be the Modular Western Town by mb_bricks. The firefly also got rejected. I can't say I am surprised. Adult content keeps hitting 10,000 and LEGO keeps rejecting them. I hope people eventually catch on that your idea needs to be kid-appropriate.
