Scientists at the Australian National University have used a Lego Pirate in their experiments on 'super rogue waves'. The team placed the Lego Pirate and his ship in a scientific fish tank with a wave generator and let it run. The ship was eventually capsized by a rogue wave, but the pirate went unharmed. Very cool. I know that the science is a big deal, and I think it's really cool, but honestly, the video is kind of anticlimatic. Still awsome, though.

We see these stories all the time here, Australian Universities love their wave machines. Usually they use only plastic and wooden boats, not LEGO boats though, so that's pretty cool. We have a great marine sciences program here. But it's good for getting an idea of scale and such. If it was any bigger a wave, it wouldn't exactly be very realistic, which isn't good for science. I found it amusing enough anyway.

A LEGO pirate boat swimming on water. How exciting. What I don´t get is why this is news for Gizmodo. The scientists could have taken anything but a LEGO pirate boat while still obtaining the same result. I guess they had nothing better at hand or one of the scientists is a LEGO fan. Congrats on your first news post, though, Paleo.

It was then that everything fit together in my head. The two clawed beast. The Two Claws. The dual-claw marks. That all was easy. Then I realized something harder to grasp - because the beast was inter-phasal, it could also travel through time, to an extent. The Two Claws wasn’t fiction, it was true. There was someone else like me, in the past. I continued blinking rapidly and turned back to the beast.
“What do you want?” I demanded.
The beast stood up a bit straighter and looked directly at me. A terrifying voice came from it as it answered.
“You and the girl. Both. You are abnormalities and must be dealt with.”
