I've been trying to improve the overall quality of the battles. Hopefully they'll continue to improve.
And the effects of the Hollowfication technique are pretty standard for everyone, although they may be more exaggerated in Perfect Fusion.
Frieza has his reasons for not wanting Shearer to fail. After all, if she does fail, he'll be punished too.

Well, I think the developments in this chapter deserve using my catchphrase: very interesting, indeed.

Since Genekex was able to fight on par with Frieza, I assume that the Kings can get past perfect fusion somehow, or at the very least "encourage" their hosts' development to the point that they can develop perfect fusion themselves. I'm guessing this whole ordeal will mess with Onatewka's challenge schedule quite a bit, sorry kiddies. Hm...I wonder if Cell simply received a briefing on the Kings and was able to determine EPKL's status by watching him fight, or if he was alive during the last cycle and therefore already "acquainted" with the Kings. I don't expect you to clarify that last one, by the way.

Frieza wasn't in Perfect Fusion, actually. Titan will probably start rushing Genakex towards Perfect Fusion soon, though. As for Cell, we'll learn more about him on Onu-Isle, though I might hold off on being explicit with some of his motivation.

Should be able to get Chapter 12 up later--it's mostly wrap-up, but it does involve our first scene in Shadow Consortium HQ! I also want to get Chapter 13 up tomorrow (Xyla vs Onatewka), but after that...I'll be gone Friday through Sunday. Will definitely try to get a chapter typed that first Monday, though.
Also, I don't believe I've mentioned the latest updates to Exo's Desk yet--more character files on the Book 3 Characters page.
And just a reminder, VioletRose and HonoredSoul launches on Monday!

I love your choice of names Exo, they fit so well your characters. I did a quick search and Meutrière means "murderous", a perfect match I'd say. I'm kinda sad to see Shearer dead, she was an interesting character. Remind me to work for Virulence if I happen to join the Consortium, he seems to have a surprising amount of leniency towards Frieza's failure. It would seems that Xyla is warming up to Genakex, though it might be shock, I'm no doctor. And when is Zane scheduled to join the party?

Yeah, I wanted a name that would reflect Meutrière's position as Head of the Assassination Division, and that seemed to have a nice ring to it.
I believe Zane is scheduled to join on Ko-Isle, though I haven't started fine-tuning that arc yet. Still working on finished Onu-Isle right now.

Xyla is surprisingly unemotional about the rift between her and her relatives...although Onatewka's comments seemed to affect her fighting spirit more than one might expect. On the subject of Onatewka, I love how you used his fixation with tradition in a humorous manner at the start of this chapter, you totally caught me off guard with that one.

Also, thank you for finally describing Cycletrack. Honestly, I wasn't even sure that it was a degenerative damage technique until now.

It's actually going to be a game, not an RPG, due to the voting process required to get RPGs approved. Basically I give you some options, you make a choice, I post the consequences of that choice and some new options, and so on.
May be able to get a new Kako chapter up today, and if not today, probably tomorrow. Still a little tired.

Chapter 14 is up, showing Kytan's battle against Onatewka, the Element-Lords' response to the situation with the Shadow Consortium, and our first look at the Consortium's leader. Next chapter begins the Onu-Isle arc, and it also contains our first Original Element-Lord cameos!

Sweet chapter - Kytan seems fond of double-fusing for that extra power boost. And Titan seems to overlook the fact that it WAS his fault.

Kytan won't always be using Parasites, but he does enjoy them. I think we all do.

As for VRHS...I figured this would happen, ahaha...ha...haaaa...
Well, I doubt I'd be able to work it down in such a way that it would be acceptable in the Game Forum, and I know that no one would vote for it as an RPG, so...we won't be having any Bioni-Lords game for at least a good while. But I guess this is a good idea to unveil...

Bioni-Lords Dual Gaiden: Story of the Violet Rose and Story of the Honored Soul. These will be two intertwining stories, one set in the VioletRose world and another set in the HonoredSoul world, with brand new characters that will give us a look at how things work in these alternate universes. Since they are gaiden (side stories), they will be much shorter than a full Book, but I will put as much work into them as I can! There will be some guest star opportunities, but I'll discuss these in my next blog post (this Saturday).

(Ah, if only they'd stopped me in the planning stages... T_T )

I don't think it would be unreasonable to guess that Union is the one Tahace is going to fight? Either way it would be interesting to see what happens.

While Union's exact age is not known, he is said to be reasonably young during Book 1, so if he is alive during Kako he would be quite young. There's someone else Tahace is going to fight, but I'll reveal the specifics later on.

I try not to gush too much in my comments, but this chapter was really well written!

I liked how world-weary Tahace seemed in his dialogue. A lot of writers seem to forget that having a long life also means accumulating more than a lifetime's worth of disappointment and pain. Of course, fire users tend to be irritable to begin with.

Same deal with noting Kytan's feelings about being disowned; it just makes the whole thing feel more believable. Not to mention that you kept it subtle, rather than having him whine about it or putting it bluntly into the narrative.

Being subtle has never been a strong suit of mine, but I'm trying to fix that with Kako. Hopefully these characters will continue to reveal themselves on their own...

Chapter 16 is up, showing our first guest star, a battle with the Earth-Lord, and a meeting with a new King Bohrok! I'll try to get more chapters typed this week, but if I can get my hands on Pokemon Conquest tomorrow...that may not happen, ahaha...

It's nice to see that Valxan has some morals despite owning a casino chain, I have a rather low opinion of people who gamble. It's also nice to see how Onupara values tradition but understands that things will and must change. I disagree with Tahra that everyone is only out for themselves, while it is true in many cases it is equally untrue in many others.

I really like how you incorporated terms from gambling into Gambler's dialogue; it gives the character "flavor", so to speak. Also, it's refreshing to see someone recognize that historians have the biggest reason to support breaking the status quo.

I'm having a bit of fun with Valxan and Gambler, since they'll probably be making quite a few appearances throughout the story. Was actually a bit worried I was going too far with some of Gambler's speech patterns...
Probably won't get the next chapter up today (exhausted after running errands in the heat), but I'll definitely shoot for tomorrow!

As for Tahra, I'm thinking of throwing a twist into her story...it'll be revealed fairly soon, though.

Hmm... I can see something of a plotline in the story, but I won't spill it in case I'm wrong... plus I don't wanta call it out yet. Gambler seems overconfident, I reckon he'll be taken down a notch some point in the story (probably later) because of it... All in all, exactly what we expect =D

Well, Chapter 20 is up, setting the stage for the main event. I should be able to get Chapter 21 up this week, but I've joined the Library Summer Olympics and might have a little less time for Bioni-Lords...
Oh, and I put some new Spirits on the Index. Expect a few more soon, which will take us to 1500...holy Kanohi...how the heck did that happen?

Okay, I realize that my comments are starting to sound more and more like writing critiques...but I have to say that I really liked the dialogue between Titan and Voyager in this chapter. It adds a lot of depth to Titan's character in that even when he agrees with someone, Titan still refuses to show interest out of a fear of appearing weak. As obnoxious and prideful as he may be, I get the impression that Titan really believes what he's saying about the importance of being strong, showing confidence, etc.
