NOTE TO PLAYERS - It is currently between Dusk and Midnight, The shipyards are Closed, as are Castle Sakrinil and the public sections of Shimmering Palace.
Flickering lights held within hanging lanterns flickered across the tavern, as the uproarious crowd quieted down for the central focus of the moment, a new comer bard who was singing an uplifting tale of a dashing swordsmen in combat against a ruthless pirate, all to win the heart of the damsel and get the treasure horde the terrible adversary kept back.
With the end of the tale and song, the masses let out a long uproar, followed by a howling applause that rocked the building before returning to the norm. Some stood off to the side with a tankard in hand, singing and acting jubilant, while others sat in the far corner of the room, calmly watching the whole event. Some stood to the side, hoping nobody noticed them. In some corners, sailors spoke with merchants; in others, aspiring captains attempted to gather a crew.
A few sit in the stools close to the innkeeper, who wipes down the tabletop, as they try to forget their worries. The innkeeper shows them the attention and listens as necessary, while also eyeing those entering and sending waitresses to escort them to their seating, where they can join with the others within.
This is the Discussion Topic for the RPG Waves of the South! Here, you may discuss anything regarding to the RPG, or just chat among yourselves. Try to keep on subject; if you do go off subject, try to get back on track quickly before it just becomes pointless spamming.
First of all, thanks to Tafu for proposing the name used for this Discussion Topic.
If you were going to make a post in OOC, but do not have anything IC to go with it, you must post here. That’s the rules, and considering its put in the rules, and right here in huge bolded letters, you have absolutely no excuse to go breaking it. It’s like pushing a button that says ‘do not touch’. By all accounts, you should be shot on the spot, while the real operation it would normally perform is operated by a hidden lever. I cannot stress this enough. Wait. Yes I can. I’m doing it right now.
Profiles must be posted here for approval before being posted in the profiles topic. I want to keep that topic limited only to profiles to make it easier for other players to use. It also means we can keep all profiles for a single player in one post, which makes finding a description of another characters appearance a lot easier (admit it – every one of us has mistake at least one characters species at some point). While that won’t stop all problems, it will make things a lot easier.
Follow all BZPower rules on this topic. Obviously.
Finally, this topic will serve to show all ‘Current Events’ that are storyline related in the RPG. As players, you may perform actions that lead to these. If something major happens, you might have a bounty placed on a character. That’s right – committing crimes and being caught in the act will get a bounty on your head for your capture, and everyone in the world will see it right here.
Governor Vamden is currently dealing with the fallout of sacrificing claims to a number of ore rich isles to the north. Being forced to pay for off-island supplies, and thus being subjected to tariffs, has made the Traders Guild testy. The clipper ship Star of the South, along with 5% of the profits, has been promised to any willing to travel south in search of new mining land.
There are reports that the Brotherhood of Makuta has sent a vessel south, and that their agent is currently docked in Ampora.
Members of the Vermillion Dragon have shown interest in locating the legendary Legion Scepter, a supposedly magical mace wielded by Count Gremost prior to it being was stolen by a legendary thief known as Midnight 300 years after he used it to oust the Justiciars. No luck has been found so far, but such an item could turn a nice profit if sold to the right people. The Yheyn Rebellion has also begun seeking the artifact, in hopes of using it as a weapon against the Southern Alliance. The other major factions have shown no major interest, and Vamden has outright declared it a waste of time.
The mass murderer Dridak is wanted dead or alive by both the Toa Council and the Xankah Order. Pretty much everybody else, too. He is a dangerous psychopath with powers over Magnetism and the Kanohi Jutlin.
