Over the years of BIONICLE we have had many, many shields. Gresh's, Nuparu's, Kopaka's various shields, Raanu, Lhikan, etc.

Whose is your favorite?

I think Gresh wins for me, it looks fantastic and can work as blades.

I've never been a fan of shields that had many holes in them, as they don't seem like they'd be either sturdy or effective. As such, I've always been fond of the Skrall shield and Kopaka Nuva's shield, though between the two I prefer the former.

Lhikan's shield to me is the best. Not only is it very big. But it doubles as two swords and a hoverboard to boot.

Lhikan's always been my favorite, because of its classical-like shape and design, but these years I came to love Gresh's, too, which looks more "wild" with that shape. So, I'd say Gresh's and Lhikan's ex-aequo.

I really like the design of Gresh's shield. They also look great for MOCing.

Tricky question, I prefer Lhikans shield, but its size means I don't actually use it very often. So I'd have to go with Kopaka Mata's shield. Its size means it works for both Matoran and Toa sized MOCs.

Skrall. It has an awesome design, a cool buzzsaw, and isn't full of holes.

Tie between the Skrall shield and Lhikan's shield.

Sadly, school and other forums are limiting my activity here.

If I'm not logged in and posting, however, I'll still have BZP open as a tab in Chrome.

I personally like Kopaka Nuva's Shield... it seemed fairly decent for a buckler.

Lhikan's shield. As others have said, it could be split into twin swords and used as a hover board. And I imagine it would be very useful to hit an enemy with it. :)

It's tough, but I gotta say Vezon's (non-canon) shield from the Vezon and Kardas set.

I've always been a fan of Lhikan's shield. The two massive swords merging into one massive shield is just great.

I hate jumping on the bandwagon, but Lhikan's shield/swords/hoverboard has to be the best. Runner ups would be the Hagah shields.

Mine is probably Nuparu Mahri's shield. It's probably the most protective shield, and seems the most solid. Skrall's is cool, too, but it isn't as big and powerful as Nuparu's. Gresh's shield has a huge hole in the middle, and Lhikan's has two, so I can't say they're very protective. As for parts use, I still like Nuparu's. It has just enough connections to be useful, but not so many that the design of the shield suffers, so it has quite a few uses. Lhikan's are too big, and are hard to use properly. Gresh's have a lot of connection points, so they look a bit hollow. Skrall's is almost impossible to use as anything besides a shield or hat, so it's annoying. So, my favorite is Nuparu's shield.

why does it matter that greshe's shield is so holy? if you need to block sword attacks, that can make it even easier.

but I love skralls shield.

Lhikan and Gresh's shields were rather clunky, and got in the way. I prefer Kopaka Nuva's Ice Shield. Simple and Solid.

That depends on whether we are talking aesthetics and versatility in the canon, or IRL in MOCing.

I do like the Hagah shields for a more imposing sort of character, while the Kopaka shields look more like bucklers.
Most shields have holes however, and as such they don't appeal to me as much.

My favorite shield would have to be the Skrall's standard Saw Blade Shield, though I prefer Tuma's green version from the TLR movie.

I really like Toa Lhikan's shield/lava board.

Ka%27tru.pngBehold, Toa Ka'tru! Sprite made by Strack. Click picture to go to his sprite shop.  Avatar by CeeCee.

It was then that everything fit together in my head. The two clawed beast. The Two Claws. The dual-claw marks. That all was easy. Then I realized something harder to grasp -  because the beast was inter-phasal, it could also travel through time, to an extent. The Two Claws wasn’t fiction, it was true. There was someone else like me, in the past. I continued blinking rapidly and turned back to the beast.

“What do you want?” I demanded.

The beast stood up a bit straighter and looked directly at me. A terrifying voice came from it as it answered.

“You and the girl. Both. You are abnormalities and must be dealt with.”

In the Bionicle universe, it is not metal but air that is most effective at halting the motion of weapons.  Hence, each shield is designed not to provide protection in itself, but rather to organize the air molecules in the most efficient configuration.  That is why there is such an incredible abundance of holes.

...I'm going to have to go with Skrall's.

I would say that I like the Hagah shields the most, though they're pretty much tied with Lhikan's shield.  Coming close behind those two are Nuparu's shield and Kopaka Nuva's shield, because they can actually, y'know, protect the user.  :P
