Saahrak was a Vortixx laborer-slave as all Xia's men were. Shortly after the fall of the League of Six Kingdoms, Xia's leaders attempted to found an empire and invaded several neighboring lands. After climbing the Mountain, Saahrak was allowed to join the army and was deployed to the Tren Krom Peninsula (in the only example of Vortixx men leaving Xia). He gained a reputation as an efficient and practical leader. After the Brotherhood of Makuta intervened and ended the war, they offered him a position leading the Visorak Horde, which Saahrak accepted.
Saahrak eventually grew disillusioned by the Brotherhood's bureaucracy, realizing he was little more than a pawn to the Makuta. He faked his own death and was recruited by the Dark Hunters under the codename Soldier. He eventually became a member of the Shadowed One's inner circle and typically oversaw the strategic aspects of other missions. His proudest success was overseeing a series of coordinated strikes against Destral and several other Brotherhood strongholds during the war between the two superpowers.
Saahrak was known for his unwillingness to kill unless necessary, seeing underlings and pawns, even allies, where others saw victims. He also followed a strange code of honor that often put him against his employers, whether it was Xia, the Brotherhood, or the Dark Hunters. Saahrak was one of the Shadowed One's most ardent loyalists, although their philosophical debates often ended with energy blasts and furniture being thrown through walls.
